We did the sightseeing riverboat cruise and overall had a really enjoyable experience. It was a relaxing way to see Savannah from a different perspective while learning about the riverfront and the Port of Savannah. The narration was informative, and seeing the massive cargo ships and waterfront activity was a unique experience. The boat was spacious, with both indoor seating and outdoor viewing areas. We ordered the chicken tenders and fries, and they were surprisingly good--definitely above average for food on a sightseeing cruise. We also opted for the 42 oz souvenir drink, which was well worth it if you plan on enjoying a few drinks during the cruise. It lasts the full three-hour experience, and the bartender was fantastic--friendly, personable, and made a great drink. Unfortunately, it rained during part of our cruise, which likely impacted the experience since we couldn't spend as much time outside taking in the views. Of course, the weather isn't something the company can control, and there was plenty of indoor seating to stay comfortable. Overall, this was a fun and worthwhile experience that I'd recommend to first-time visitors, couples, and families. Between the scenic views, interesting narration, better-than-expected food, and excellent bar service, it was an enjoyable way to spend a few hours on the Savannah River. I'd definitely return--hopefully on a sunny day next time. read more

Had a good time on the Savannah Riverboat Cruise. Honestly, the best part was being able to get out on the water, walk around the boat, and see Savannah from a different perspective. There was some history mixed in along the way, which was interesting, and the whole experience was relaxing. The food was probably the weakest part for me. It was served buffet style with fried chicken, mac and cheese, mashed potatoes and gravy, plus fruit. It wasn't bad, but it was all pretty lukewarm and just didn't leave much of an impression. That said, I don't think people are booking this for the food anyway. You're booking it for the views, the boat, and the experience. We had fun, enjoyed the ride, and I'm glad we did it. read more

Savannah Riverboat Cruises - A scene from the boat after dinner. - Tours Near Me - Savannah, Georgia

The Savannah Riverboat cruise is a "one and done" experience that I wouldn't repeat for the price. The two-hour ride is scenic, and the four-level boat is impressive, but bring a jacket--it was freezing both on deck and inside the cabin this April. While we had a nice window seat, the real dealbreaker was the food. The buffet looks great, but the quality is just not there. It was edible, but honestly, it was not good at all. It completely failed to deliver on taste. You're paying for the views, not the meal, and because the food was such a letdown, I seriously doubt I'll be back. read more

We had such a fun time on the Savannah Riverboat! The surprise cannon blast definitely caught us off guard (in a good way ). The tour went farther than we expected -- we got to cruise under the bridge and learn some cool history along the way. Bonus: we even spotted a few dolphins swimming nearby, which made it extra special. Overall, a really relaxing and scenic way to see Savannah from the water. Would recommend if you're visiting! $40 was worth is for a first timer read more

Experienced the Savannah Riverboat Cruise for dinner recently on a birthday trip for my BFF. The menu included Roasted Potatoes, Squash Casserole, Mixed Vegetables, Lemon & Artichoke Chicken, Prime Rib carving station, Shrimp & Grits, Fish, Salad, Dinner Rolls, & Dessert. Tea, Lemonade, Soda, Water & Coffee included. We missed the dessert because we went walking around, and didn't know it was coming later. They had a full bar with a nice selection of wines. We ordered a bottle of Prosecco for the table. The food was seasoned well and filling. There was entertainment on 2 levels of the boat. The duo on our floor was great, performing a mixture of R&B and pop songs. The 2nd level had the line dance songs rocking after everyone finished dinner. The view from the boat was beautiful & relaxing. It was chilly, but it was a great night to be on the water. They also offer a brunch cruise that looks appealing as well. read more

We took this cruise on our 1st year anniversary celebration on Nov 18th, 2025. Me and wife enjoyed their food, detailed and guided tour by the captain during the cruise explaining the history of the port and the city of Savannah. Their on board bar and restaurant is very nice as well. Overall we had a very nice relaxing cruise afternoon. I highly recommend this tour while you're in Savannah !!! read more

Me and my friends went onboard for the Sunset River Cruise on my birthday 9/26! It was delightful! We sat on deck 4 on these neat benches and to our surprise there was a DJ on taht deck that turned the cruise into a floating club! The vibe was awesome, teh music was buzzing and the full moon was teh star of the night after the amazing golden hour sunset we witness on board! This was worth the price ticket around $59 per person! Would do again! Great way to celebrate my 50th! read more

Savannah Riverboat Lunch Cruise: Great Experience, But Skip the Included Lunch My husband and I took the Savannah Riverboat Cruise with the lunch option, and overall, it was a memorable outing we'd happily repeat--with one change. The service was fantastic: friendly, attentive, and professional throughout. The boat itself is beautiful, with lovely views of the Savannah River and historic sites. The captain's narration was a highlight. He provided fascinating facts, interesting historical tidbits, and maritime knowledge about the area the entire time--only pausing briefly for questions, which he answered thoroughly. My husband was particularly impressed by his expertise on the local maritime history. A fun moment came when we passed Old Fort Jackson--they fired a cannon at us! It was thrilling to hear the boom and imagine what it must have felt like in the past. Unfortunately, the included lunch was the one disappointment. The food was lackluster and completely lacking in flavor--it tasted bland and unseasoned, almost like institutional or nursing home fare. Everything was just overall "blah." We'd definitely do the riverboat tour again. Next time, though, we'd skip the lunch package and either grab something from the grill on the top deck or eat before or after the cruise. Highly recommend the experience for the boat, views, and narration--just plan your own meal! read more

It was incredibly fun! Food was amazing and we had a great time. The ship is really cool and has two levels with a great balcony. I think its overrated. Big boat, nice views. The narrator was knowledgeable. I wasn't blown away. felt like the boat should have gone further out or maybe float out in the opposite direction a little. Thebice cream shop is a nice touch for hot days. Overrated. Upon arrival, the ticket-taker did not greet us. He simply said, "Tickets." No, "Welcome aboard!", no "Glad you're cruising with us." and no "We're happy to see you. Where are you traveling from?" Nothing. No welcome or warm greeting. The next person wanted us to take a picture. For money, no doubt. No way. We're already not wanted, why would you want a picture? I've already decided I'm not spending any more money after being greeted in that fashion. No drinks, no snacks, and no souvenirs. The narrator was knowledgeable, had a few jokes, and was tipped appropriately. The paddlers do not run. Two stars for a knowledgeable narrator and clean restrooms. Otherwise, this riverboat cruise is a big pass. read more

Savannah riverboat cruise located riverfront Savannah, GA One of the main attractions in Savannah is the River Boat cruise .They offer a Lunch and dinner cruises up and down the Savannah River. Tickets may be purchased online, or with event vendors at most hotels on or surrounding the riverfront. We chose the dinner cruise (buffet style) with live entertainment (one man band). The buffet consisted of Prime rib, baked chicken and grouper for the protein and salad, mix vegetables, squash casserole and potatoes. The live entertainment was a gentleman... pretty good singer and guitarist. The crew was super friendly and accommodating... appreciated that, they made the experience worthwhile. read more

I did the sunset cruise with my husband. Here are some details rapid fire. Bottom two decks are reserved for the "dinner cruise" ticket holders. The top two decks are reserved for the "sunset cruise" ticket holders. After the dinner is over people can go to other decks. The scenery was ok. A lot of industrial sights since you're on the river with the use of cargo ships. Sunset cruisers have access to apps and sandwiches and fountain and alcoholic drinks. (That you pay for of course) They had things like potato wedges, fries, phillys, etc. In my opinion you could definitely do dinner with those options available. Restrooms available on board on levels 1-3. They take one of those touristy photos in front of the boat before you board if you're into that. You have to get your boarding pass from the red shop across from the boat (across the street) before getting on. Parking is iffy if you want something close. There ARE public lots close but they are always full so use your judgment. There are several parking garages within walking distance also. read more

Had the opportunity to do the riverboat cruise and lunch while on a work trip in Savannah. Thought it was going to be a gimmicky thing, but it actually turned out to be really nice. The lunch is buffet style. I'll admit I had low expectations, but actually ended up loving my meal. In fact, the mac n cheese and bread pudding was some of the best I've had. The cruise itself is a nice way to see up and down the river and get a insight into the city's history, particularly the import/export. You even get to glaze over one of the nearby forts. Definitely fun to do at least once! read more

This tour was ok. I think the boat looks much cooler than actually being on it. We took a sightseeing cruise on a rainy day which I don't recommend. It's better when you can be on the outdoor areas of the boat. Tips: If you want to sit by a window, show up to board at least 1:30 hours ahead of time. There is an elevator to floors 2 and 3. You can order snacks on the third floor. The guide narrates the first portion of the tour and then turns off the mic for the last 30 min. If you are inside, I recommend going outside during the narration. It's easier to see and hear. read more

What a wonderful little trek up and down the Savannah River! We bought our tickets the day of, about an hour and half before the cruise time- from the local ticketing shop. You can board an hour ahead of the departure time, and the line to board will be lengthy. They take photos as you board and you are told what floor you are on. If you purchase the lunch or dinner cruise- they will have tables reserved for you. If you just get the cruise- like we did- you have a couple of levels to pick your seat. We went straight to the top deck- open air seating. The elevator goes up to deck 3 and you have to take stairs up to the top deck. **three of the decks are accessible for wheelchair or walker. Lines for bar service are obnoxious, you can also order food. John stood in that line twice- ew. It took about 40 minutes the first time and about 30 minutes the second time. The cruise is 2 hours long. I recommend getting in line right away if you want anything. I would probably book the meal an cruise if I ever did this again. It was a fun time and informative too. read more

We had reservations for our large Girl Scout troop (24 people) made weeks in advance. We were visiting Savannah for the day. We had plenty of walking planned for that day, so chose the riverboat cruise for some relaxation. We were on the afternoon narrated harbor sightseeing cruise. The narrator was engaging and provided a lot of historical information about Savannah and the sites we were seeing. read more

After living in Georgia our entire lives and visiting Savannah countless times, we decided to spring for a sunset riverboat cruise, mostly to see a different view of River Street. We didnt do the dinner so we were on the 3rd and 4th decks. Upon entering the boat, a man dressed like a captain or crew member walked in front of me, held the door open, rolled his eyes, and said up the stairs, which I could see through the door to the left. He stopped me and said not that way, but didnt offer to point in any direction, while still holding the door open in front of me (apparently for the people behind me, for some reason). He clearly was miserable at his job - tall, skinny young man with short brown hair. The cover band on the top deck was ok but nothing special - they also seemed to be over it. The breeze was nice, but the boat takes you down the river into the most industrial area so you see the sunset but through giant cranes and factories, which sounded so deafening, they drowned out the music. The restrooms were decently clean but not great. We didnt eat or drink while onboard so I cant comment on those but there were drinks available on the top deck. The music from the gospel singer on the first floor was incredibly loud and the man's voice was horrible! While waiting to get off the boat (and it taking us farther down river when the cruise was over half an hour prior, causing us to miss our next tour) we gathered downstairs with everyone else and a noise that was deafening (like screeching breaks in a wind tunnel) under us, the gospel singer continued to sing without taking a breath so we were pummeled by noise on top of noise while being held captive on this cruise that was seemingly neverending. As a non-Christian person, I felt forced to listen to gospel music which was a complete turnoff. It left me wondering if other religions are ever represented on these cruises. Needless to say, we've now done the cruise and know not to waste our money doing it again. The romantic idea of a sunset riverboat cruise is missed on this one. read more

I had a good experience overall. Have plenty of food and room on the cruise. The top deck is where the narrator is at but they have speakers so yo can hear. You can sit inside look out the windows or walk around. Have restrooms on the boat. Only problem is had was I purchase my tickets through the place I stayed at they couldn't print off. Well the o town trolly wasn't very informative on their location to board. Once we discovered the sign by the dock we figured out they had a store on river street. Also you have to have it paper printed off. I give them props the lady at the boarding informed me of the store across street she printed my tickets real quick and we was on our way. 9 E River St Savannah, GA 31401 United States that's where store is and you board not by stop 11 on o trolley tour. read more

The boat was lovely, it was nice to be able to sit outside and watch the sunset and the water. However, we paid for the dinner part of the cruise and the food was not warm enough, fish dried out, service ok but not great, did I say food cold and tasteless. The live entertainment ... i could have done better and I can't carry a tune in a bucket. There is a cash Barwick is fine. I would just do the sunset cruise. Same boat, no mediocre food but the same very nice views. My friend ordered a drink and our wait person disappeared so when we wanted to pay well ... she did track us down sitting on the side of the boat. You can't really disappear from there completely. I enjoyed the riverboat experience in Savannah. Staff were friendly, and the food tasted ok. The food was not hot. My drink was weak, and did not excite me. Also, the dessert was not sweet. For the price of tickets for the dinner on the Georgia Queen, you'd think you could get some hot food! While it was a hot June afternoon, the boat was still an enjoyable experience. Great history tour with some humor on the first leg of the journey. Spots to sit outside offered some breeze and great views. The interior seemed too chaotic with many families likely seeking respite from the heat and humidity. Lovely views, mediocre drinks, but overall a unique and lovely way to experience Savannah, especially if you're okay with some heat on the exterior of the ferry. I took a Sunday brunch cruise with a friend. I'm generally not a fan of buffets, but this one won me over. I sampled a lot of the food and most of it was top notch. You can't come to Savannah and not try shrimp & grits. I'm not a fan of grits, but it was OK. The breakfast food like the eggs, bacon, sausage, and french toast was all served warm and was all delicious. The fried chicken was outstanding, and I wouldn't expect less in the South. The waitress was very friendly and was working her butt off to serve a large number of people. She brought over sweet tea which had the exact level of sweetness that I like. She also brought over blueberry muffins that were to die for, and cinnamon rolls that were a bit overcooked on the outside but delicious on the inside. After stuffing ourselves with food we were able to go outside and take a seat on the deck. As we watched the scenery go by the captain was on the microphone giving us details about what we were seeing, with a good sense of humor. When we came back in our table had been cleared, but the waitress left my extra muffin covered with a napkin. In my mind I said "YES", because I loved that muffin. We gave her a good tip. If you take one of these cruises do not forget to tip the waitress. I highly recommend the brunch cruise. read more
