Welp, sure enough, the rumors are TRUE! Right off the main strip in town is a decent-sized lot that this truck has taken residence on, replete with tables and seating, about 10 parking places, and trash receptacles. We stopped in on an unseasonably warm, late December evening, and tried a few different types of dishes: steak hibachi, shrimp lo mein, sushi, chicken hibachi, and lots of yum yum sauce! I was (mostly) responsible for the sushi roll. Normally, I'm a 2, maybe 3 roll per sitting kinda guy. For whatever reason, on this evening, I decided to start with one...and thank goodness I did, as the roll was enormous! Like, the volume of at LEAST two rolls at any other place! Delicious, well-made, and extremely filling! In my ratings, I'd give the lo mein second place - it was fantastic, and included lots and lots of shrimp, which thrilled my son! He woofed it down, fast! The ladies in our party each got hibachi, and both loved it! The Yum yum sauce came in handy for their meat, veggies and rice. As we ate under the stars, we saw about a dozen folks swing in for take out, meaning we were definitely behind the eight ball in finding this gem out on the prairie! The gentleman running the window was kind and helpful with our order, and they had our food prepared in about 20 minutes! Not bad, considering the busy Friday night they were having! They had options from pulled pork with kimchi mayo, Mac n cheese with kimchi, fried chicken with kimchi and wings with a kimchi based sauce (I think?). I tried their brisket sandwich with kimchi on top. I never tried kimchi before so I was taking a gamble. Once I got it, it smelled amazing. The meat was very juicy and tender, you could smell the butter from the bun, and the sauce and kimchi just looked really good. The first bite, there was a little spice but disappeared as you got used to it. The kimchi added a little crunch which was really enjoyable. I would definitely try again! The line moved pretty quick but they were even quicker getting the food out. The staff was super kind and I watched them explain to a couple customers whatever questions they asked which was really nice.

Best food truck in KC!…read more I first learned about the Pretzelly truck through social media and after trying it during the Fourth of July celebrations last year, I was eager to try it again this year. Which I did! This time I got the cinnamon sugar pretzel with frosting. The owner is super sweet. Highly recommend checking them out, they post weekly schedules (dates and locations) on their IG, but do know they slightly increased prices earlier this year.

Lol Chicken fingers, pho, French fries, boiled peanuts, pickles, tea, and there's a few more. I'm joking about being an expert but these are foods I love so I am drawn to them and I can be picky and a bit judgmental if they aren't good. Well, here we have the great pretzel! And trust me, The Pretzelly Truck makes a first rate pretzel! And an amazing variety of pretzel options especially considering it's a truck. The truck itself literally boosts my dopamine levels when I see it! Pink and more pink! It creates an atmosphere of happy just when you are around it! And the owner (female owned! You go girl! A boss!) is such a pleasure. She is always quick and efficient but still has a way to make you feel like you are the only person who matters while she makes your pretzel! She is a really bright spot in a world that feels dark right now. I'm going to remember to take pics the next time I'm lucky enough to be in The Pretzelly Truck's presence. My only issue is because it's a truck, she moves around and I can't always get a pretzel but then I think about how that makes it even more special when I do get a pretzel! She posts her schedule on her social media accounts. I know she uses Facebook and I believe Insta. Maybe even more. Find her and the pink truck! You won't regret it if you love a yummy pretzel!

My brisket plate was $25 with my 25% tip, and that's reasonable but come on. Charge $0.12 more ald give real plasticware. Also, worst, thinnest possible napkins. Knock it off with the silly corner-cutting. Add $0.03 more per plate and have real napkins. These factors made the qhole thing annoying. I would take back my tip if was that guy.

I visited them in SW Olathe after checking their social media for upcoming dates and locations. My brisket combo ($11.00) included a brisket sandwich, one side and a canned drink or bottled water. I added a second side ($2.00). The sandwich had a generous quantity of tasty, smoked, lean brisket on a fresh bun. I was surprised to see they did not offer baked beans, but their flavorful potato salad was a stellar substitute. The cole slaw was also first-rate. Two BBQ sauces were available upon request - original and hot. Both were very good and nicely complemented the brisket. I found the service at the window to be friendly, cheerful and efficient with only a two-minute wait for my order. The owners are a couple who operated an award winning food truck in Phoenix for 11 years, so they certainly know what they are doing. They recently moved to the KC area to be near their grandkids. Their slogan is "That's how we do it, son." Overall, excellent!

Order: Mixed plate for lunch (about 20 minutes). Comes with two charbroiled chicken pieces, half order of grilled steak, rice, tortillas, grilled peppers and onions, salsas, and a cup of charro beans. Chicken: Juicy, smoky, seasoned so well it could compete with tandoori chicken--rare to find that level of flavor. Steak: Tender, flavorful, nicely grilled. Charro beans: Soupy, shockingly good, and well seasoned. Rice: Basic, plain, no real seasoning. Warm tortillas are a nice plus. Peppers & onions: Good flavor, but could be cut thinner and grilled longer. Lime: Small but perfect touch to brighten the meat and beans--attention to detail you rarely see in a food truck. Wish list: Bigger salsa cups without the extra charge, julienned peppers and onions, grilled longer for more flavor and easier eating. The vibe: This is a hidden gem--when Hispanic families and construction crews are making the trip just for this truck, you know it's solid. Gas station itself isn't busy, but the food truck draws a steady lunch crowd. A couple of benches outside, some eat in their cars, lots of carryout. Bottom line: Flavorful meats, generous portions, and thoughtful touches make this a standout. Easily one of the best food truck finds in KC.
