Clearly not interested in serving people. Ive walked around this place to try and get a seat. Anywhere. This is the second time. I'll glady pay for a burger and a beer. Staff wouldn't even make eye contact. Can't review food or drink because we were invisible. Enjoy the local crowd. Not worth the hassle. read more

Came here with about 20 friends. Checked out the menu and ordered the twin stuffed quahogs and pepperoni pizza. The pizza was cardboard y with sauce and cheese on it. The crust was very dark and burnt in some spots. I asked for parmigiana cheese and pepper flakes. They don't have any, first place I've ever been thst doesn't have shaker cheese for pizza. The stuffed quahogs came with lemon wedge and a hot sauce aioli. It was cooked in a salamander or broiler. The tops were black and crusty. It was very tasty but when I asked for butter for the quahogs I was told they don't have butter. The bartender Joann was awesome and made great drinks Just don't order the food my friends had similar complaints. Come for drinks only read more

Overall an amazing atmosphere and place to be, however the fact that the bartenders ignore people wanting drinks is a bit of an issue. Be prepared to wait an extended time to get their attention and then get your drink. I don't know if they are understaffed and/or overwhelmed but that would be the one complaint. read more

Waited twenty minutes to order a drink at the bar, place was full with one person behind the bar, on her phone. Left and won't be back

You should know that the cost of a beer is 7.50 the same price as a draft beer that is so crazy and foolish for that price I won't be back

We went with a group of 6 at 3 pm yesterday (Saturday) and waited in line for 30 minutes until we finally got to the front of the line to be turned away. Our entire group was 25+ except for my girlfriend and we brought up the website showing it says after 5 pm is 25+ and we would eat and be out of there before 5. The manager on site told us they would change the website and sent us away. Was extremely disappointing even after I told the manager some of our group just drove nearly an hour to get here. I have been here plenty and always pull in a big tab on food, drinks and shots and we tip well... don't understand why the 25+ policy was being strictly enforced before 5 pm. My patronage will go elsewhere. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. Employees are rude. Owner, visibly intoxicated / aggressive. Customer is always wrong attitude,

If you are coming here for it's location alone, you won't be disappointed. You are literally floating on the water, when the wakes roll through, you roll too! The views are really pretty and there is always live entertainment.. The drink prices are relatively high and they usually suck, the food is mediocre at best, and the service is very slow. We tried to stop in several weeks ago with a friend that had never been there before, but they wanted to a $10.00 cover charge and we thought that was absurd, because it's just NOT worth it!! I will say when Tipsy first opened years ago, this was the GO TO place, but over the years, things have just declined. read more

nice atmospher, good people and always a great band, i frequent the place often but $8 bud lights has always been a rip off so i go with the $10 weak mudslides, but okay thats fine it is what it is. so last week i notice one of the gentleman bartenders gave me the wrong change for a mudslide, 9 bucks back for a twenty, okay honest mistake,,, (and i know im a good tipper) so this past weekend, same thing happens with same bartender, guy helps himself to a tip which in my opinion is grounds for termination. guy ignored me when i told him, didnt want to ruin my night over a buck, apparently he needed it that badly, but if hes doing it to me hes doing it everyone else, it kinda stayed in the back of my mind for a few days now so i had to write about it, thank you! read more

What a great way to enjoy a bit of time out on the water. Oh and when I say on the water I mean on the water. This entire place is situated on dicks. When a wave comes rolling on in, so does the entire bar. We sat out on the Adirondack chairs on the docks near where the boats park. Man, did we ride the waves that day. We had a couple of frozen pain killers before we decided to head on out to our next stop. The drinks were delicious! Strong and they had a great flavor! I wasn't sure however, if I was drunk or seasick when I got up. The bar had two levels, the second floor bar was not operating when we went. They also had a little hut selling fresh shucked oysters, little necks and shrimps. I believe he said they were $2 a piece. read more

This is a great summer location. The bar sits on a dock next to a marina and is close to Battleship cove. I had appetizers and pizza and both were tasty. Beers and cocktails abound. The only issue is if a big boat goes by, you feel the wave. Not the place for anyone that gets seasick easily. Great summer location. read more

Would never give them our business again after spending almost $800 for for food and drinks as we were walking back to our boat a server (blonde hair kid with Hawaiian shirt) had approached a colleague of mine telling him he could'nt be there because he had a tank top on. This is completely absurd on a 85 degree summer day men aren't allowed tank tops and women are??? I could understand if this was a upscale restaurant or lounge but it's not. We needed to make a pit-stop on our road trip. Tipsy Seagull seemed like a fun place for lunch and a drink. We were lucky and it was a really nice day out there on the water. It's mostly outdoor seating so it would probably not be a place you would want to go on a rainy day unless you planned to drink enough to stay warm. I found the food and drinks to be average but the service and atmosphere were both good. read more

Rude service. Bad food. Nice view. They got the order wrong (it happens) but server was angry and nasty, acted like it was our fault. Took so long to get that we said no problem we would keep it anyway, but then it was inedible. Shared an app plus two beers. $40.00. Wow. So bad. read more

The View Great location, right on the water in Fall River. Always extremely busy in the summer with extended wait for service. Drink prices are high for the area but the view is good and there is always a lot of people to mingle with. Overall: 1. Weak food, but what do expect from a bar on the water packed with people? 2. Amazing waterside location, the back bar is the best place to hang out. 3. Drinks are a little overpriced, but what do you expect from a place on the water in the summer. 4. Live Music 5. Great crowd, nice people watching The only reason the place gets 4 stars is because of the location and we really had a fun time. Thanks read more

You can not go wrong at this spot. On a nice night, it'll be crowded, but still a great time. Drinks are fairly priced, when considering the atmosphere. I've had a bartender or two who were a little snooty, but they were probably just overwhelmed. The live music is great, too. Perfect summer evening spot for a drink! read more

I was on vacation a couple months ago and ran across a Rhody and she suggested I try this spot. Read the reviews about poor service before I went. Impression: IMO, it has a ton of potential, but perhaps it'll never be met. I hate being that guy, but the service was bad. The servers weren't rude; the lone bartender (polite although a bit salty) seemed overwhelmed. Took me 20 minutes to get a drink. She apologized a couple times. The place was half-packed on a weekday afternoon, mind you. It was a slightly cool day, not quite perfect weather for a boat bar... so I can only imagine what it's like on a Saturday afternoon in mid-July or any summer night. I really wanted to like this place more. read more

Whats not to love about the Tipsy? Well lets discuss what there IS to love: First of all, you're drinking on a BARGE catchin some sun and swaying with the waves Secondly, you get to watch a romantic sunset over the power-plants Third, the one man band is completely awesome .. he sings random songs from Forgetting Sarah Marshall and the Hangover (great entertainment) Fourth, if you have a boat or jet ski you can pull right up to the barge since its in Fall River's marina And Did I mention the awesome sunset over the power-plants? lol... They have bar food, they have mudslides, they have music, they have outdoor patio sets to relax and enjoy the boats going by. Its just a great atmosphere and the best part about it is,.... you don't even feel like you're in Fall River!!! You must be 25+ after 8pm .. and all day long they are strict about attire. I know, your on a barge on the water how can they be strict? ... No idea, but they are. My cousin wanted to wear a red sox jersey and he had to change or wouldn't have been allowed in. Weird, I know.. but they're trying to keep a certain tone and crowd. Its a great place along the water to hang out in the summer. Perfect place to sip some beers and enjoy the sun. read more

A fun location, easy to get to by boat for an afternoon drink. It's a floating bar with a tiki bar theme. I worked my way through the frozen drink menu :) Great pina colada. Love this place...the restaurant sits on a barge on the water in Fall RIver. Nice view of the Marina, boats. bridge, lighthouse. They are only open during warm months. We got the nachos appetizer and it was huge...easily 3-5 lbs big..nice cheese melted on top of crispy fresh tortilla chips. Ordered a few drinks....I liked the Sex on the Boat (similar to a Sex on the Beach), not too crazy about Hurricane Bob.. I got the Lobster roll, it was light and tasty. NIce chunks of lobster on top of a nice toasted buttered roll. Overall good, not great.. The ambiance is Excellent. They usually have live Music most nights....starting at 7PM. A winner !! read more

Second time I should have listened to the reviews. Got seated, waited 10, found the waitress and asked if they were still serving, was told she'd be right over, waited another 10, got up, and left. We were so happy to find this bar...right on the water, somewhat hidden down a side street in Fall River. Full bar, new menu with grill items, drink specials, reasonable prices. Entertainment is provided several days a week; we have been on Sunday afternoons a few times and there has been a Jimmy Buffet tribute band. Summertime, and the livin' is easy at the Tipsy Seagull. It's great to see a happening beach bar carving out a name for itself in the city where I grew up. This is an example of how Fall River can make use of its waterfront and actually present a viable alternative to Newport's summer crowds (though be warned, the Tipsy hits capacity many nights), parking hassles and costs. OK, so you're looking across the Bay at a power plant and not the sunset over the Pell Bridge or gazing at some foreign prince's yacht, but consider this: you will enjoy live music. You will more than likely be able to find a table. You will not pay to park. You may enjoy a $2 draft of beer that is several steps above bathroom gin. The food (pub fare all the way) is tasty. And you won't have to pass over a single toll bridge on your way from Providence. And, you're on a floating dock! Located in Borden Light Marina, this is one of the nicer, tucked away corners of The Riv. If you close your eyes on a ninety-degree day, you might be magically transported to Key West. I'm serious. This is a seasonal spot, so don't wait for summer to pass you by. Take a rain check on a more ambitious and wallet draining Newport or Cape Cod jaunt and try the Tipsy - you might be pleasantly surprised to find a go-to summer gem nestled in the heart of Spindle City. read more

My colleague, who has never been to RI or MA, was with me for a weekend assignment. Once we finished our work he wanted to watch his team play football. We yelped sports bars and came up with two - Taphouse Grille and Tipsy Seagull. We went first to the former and then decided to hit the Tipsy Seagull on the way out of town - 1. for the name alone 2. because it is on the water. I grew up in the area and never went to Fall River to "hang out" so I was totally surprised with this find. The Tipsy Seagull is literally on a pier that sways with the current. It is in a marina in a nice area of town, right near the Braga Bridge. This place is seasonal, and we happened to get there during its closing weekend (Columbus Day). Though there was a rain storm brewing the service was great and we could tell there was a great vibe. I had the Crabbie's (alcoholic ginger beer) and my colleague had a house made pineapple punch. We were in a hurry to catch a train so the kind folks of the Tipsy Seagull offered to expedite our dinner orders and wrap them to go. The sandwiches were great. Fresh ingredients, nice sides. There are some warnings about dress code on the sign at the entrance. I don't know what this would mean for a normal summer evening. Maybe it wouldn't be my type of crowd? I can't wait for the Tipsy Seagull to reopen next spring. I'd like to check it out again. I loved the Crabbie's beer and I'm obsessed with finding another place to get it! read more

Tipsy Seagull - Crabbie's ginger beer - delicious! - Restaurants Near Me - Fall River, Massachusetts

Awful at worst, mediocre at best on a range of areas. For once, I don't even know where to start, but here goes... 1-- The place itself could be a neat spot, but the dress code seems incredibly out of place for a casual at most space. If you want your patrons to look decent, then make your place less tacky (and maybe take care to clean up a bit around construction). 2-- The service was fine... Our waitress was nice enough, though it felt she was annoyed with our table. Either that, or she was stressed considering the place was filling up quickly and she was the only server outside the bar. It took ten minutes to get a single beer, and we were right by the bar. Again, I understand that it's busy, but then management needs to staff those hours more adequately, as it was prime lunch hour. 3--The one mixed drink (that took forever to arrive) we tried was okay. Alcoholic and tasty enough, so I won't say anything there. 4-- The food. $14 for a shrimp "cocktail." If you google shrimp cocktail, you will see nothing like what we got, which was 5 shrimp on a bed of ice and a small cup of cocktail sauce. Okay then... Now, I may pay $14 for an actual cocktail at a nicer place, but $14 for that??? Sorry, but no. We also tried a steak and arugula pizza for roughly the same price. Now that price seemed more fair considering the amount of food given, and the taste wasn't bad. It also wasn't delicious. I would not order food here again. 5-- Actually, I would never step foot here again. Roughly 90 minutes after eating here, I came down with a head and body aches, as well as a fever. Five days later, I'm still out. My friend also became ill, but got well within 24 hours. Now, it's tough to pin this on the Tipsy Seagull as food poisoning considering the length of my malaise, but what I will pin on management is a terrible response to our reaching out to them. After failing to get back to a phone call as they claimed they would, they responded callously to a follow-up e-mail. Rather than deciding to look into it or refunding us for our food, they assured as that it wasn't their food and that was that. Regardless of point 5, neither the atmosphere or food are worth the money. If you're looking for a place by the water in Fall River, go to the Cove, where things may be pricier (and there may be a dress code?) but at least it's warranted. Otherwise, there are also tons of places in Providence on the water with better food, service, and atmosphere. read more

We finally tried this place this Summer and loved it. And we loved it 98% because of the beautiful views of the water. Loved the cheesy palm tree lights and loved looking at the views. It made us feel like we were away on vacation. The first time we came we were hoping to get an app or something to eat with our drinks but the waitress got our drink order and gave us the bill right away that we just ended up going elsewhere for dinner. I got a frozen mixed drink, I forget how much it was, on the more expensive side but typical cocktail price. Second time we came a little later maybe around 7/8 and they had a band playing really loud, so we moved upstairs to the top decks with our beers (this time just ordered and paid at bar downstairs). It was really fun and had that same vacation vibe. I agree with most of the other Yelpers, service is not so friendly. But come here for a drink and enjoy the views. They do have a dress code and no children after a certain time so check their website! read more

Yeahhhhh this place is alright. Drinks are pricey and they only serve your drinks in plastic cups. Very cheap. The location is nice, it's a nice view BUT it's extremely crowded. Barely any places to sit and it's an extremely long line just to get a drink. And don't get me started on parking. It's a complete nightmare. I'm so afraid of my car getting scratched or banged up I had to park up on a hill. So overall, if you're into crowds of people, loud music, and pricey drinks, this may be your cup of tea. But for me, I'd rather go to a quieter, peaceful place just to relax. Not for everyone, but it's worth a try to just go once. read more

I really liked the view. I could see a lot of boats and the ocean very nicely. There was no wait. The waitresses ring the food in on portable computers so you know it will come quickly. Drove an hour for this place after a great review from a friend. Unfortunately i did not love!! The location is awesome!! We just happened to be there for some boat race qualifier so the boats were roaring by it was really entertaining while we waited for our food. Not a fan of: 1) as soon as we walked 3 waiters passed us without a word so i finally stopped one to ask how we get seated and she said sit anywhere a sign would be nice 2) only like 3 tables had umbrellas, so every table was under the scorching sun. We were all glistening from sweat within minutes because lack of shade 3) none of the drinks on the menu had prices which would be nice 4) and the food was rather boring, nachos, one burger, basic sandwiches. Nothing om the menu was exciting or worth remembering. read more

Where do I begin? It pains me to leave negative reviews, but sometimes there's no helping it. To start, I ordered a frozen drink that was entirely ice, which makes enjoying it difficult. I shouldn't have to chew my drink. We were handed just one menu for the two of us, which is annoying but I didn't think too much of it. We quickly put in an order for a flatbread. Later we proceeded to order a couple sandwiches and sides. 20 minutes passes and still no flatbread. We then ask our waiter if he forgot it, he said the kitchen was having trouble and it would be right out. Our sandwiches came, still no flatbread. A side I did not order came out with my sandwich. Then 10 minutes later the flatbread came out. In reality it was a pizza, served to us on a paper plate. A paper plate? Who serves a hot pizza on a paper plate? By this time we were no longer hungry seeing that we already already finished our dry and lackluster sandwiches. We asked our waiter to box up our flatbread (which again was a pizza). Apparently boxing something up to them means wrapping the pizza and paper plate in plastic wrap and tossing it in a plastic bag. I've included a picture. Why don't they have to go boxes? Any restaurant that has ever existed ANYWHERE has boxes for people to take food to go. They also don't have silverware or plates. They gave us plastic silverware and MORE paper plates. The least that could have happened in all of this was they remove the pizza from the check after this mess of a meal, but no. It was on there. We didn't feel like creating a problem so we paid it and left. I have to blame management for this lack of understanding on how to run a kitchen and provide customer service. Clearly no one here cared or knew how to provide good service. Our entire experience was a joke. We will not be returning. read more
