SCAMMER AND FRAUD ALERT! MANDATORY 34% SURCHARGE. AVOID. NOTE: If you're considering bringing a group here, understand that you will be scammed with a 34% mandatory surcharge, your tacos will take 45 minutes to arrive, the General Manager Taylor Snell will metaphorically spit in your face, and your only recourse is to spend 2.5 hours of your weekend disputing the fraudulent 34% charge. ________________________________________________________ Tipsy Putt sells a party package: $49 per person, which covers games and drinks. Sounds simple. I brought 10 people for a going-away party, agreed to that price, and expected to pay $490 plus tax plus a reasonable tip on $490. Instead, without my presence, my signature, or my authorization, the restaurant closed my tab and charged my card $691.80. This is effectively a $165.30 tip -- or 34%!!! Here is how they do it: even though your drinks are included in the package, they list every single drink at full individual retail price on the receipt, add that total **on top** of your package price, and calculate a 20% gratuity on that inflated fake number - not on the $490 you actually owed. They also tack on an undisclosed 4% "health and benefits fee." In our case, our package was $490 and included 40 drinks. However, they added the individual retail prices of the 26 drinks we did consume ($238.50 = What we would have been charged without a package) to the $490 package price that we actually did agree to. This equates to $728.50. They then gave themselves a 20% tip on $728.50! ($145.70) That's just fraud! Have you ever heard of a tip being added on something you didn't even purchase? The result: an effective 34% surcharge on the price they advertised. A $165.30 on $490, and so a 34% tip. The total paid: $490 + $36.50 tax + $165.30 fake tip = $691.80. When I returned the next day, I was ready to still leave a 20% tip! I just wanted it to be 20% of $490. I arrived and asked the general manager, Taylor Snell, to edit the tip. Not only was he rude and condescending, but he also even raised his voice at me. He told me this is the industry standard and that a sign at the bar discloses the gratuity policy. The supposed sign he says exist (which I never saw) says 20% -- not 20% of fabricated items you didn't even purchase! Besides, I was at the bar the entire evening and saw no such sign. And even if one exists -- a sign you can only read after you've already walked in, ordered, and been charged is not consent. I've filed a dispute with American Express. Overall vibe check was 100%. The moment you step inside, prepare to be greeted by a friendly security guard...It's still a bar, It's 21+ after 6 pm! Kids are welcome during daytime hours. BUT THIS IS AWESOME. A place where there are no kids, that isn't a dive bar off El Camino. But before I dive into the main event, my friend and I decided to fuel up with a fantastic dinner. The space is a haven of comfort, boasting a variety of seating options from low to high tables, and even tables near their recreational areas stocked with classic board games like Jenga and Connect 4. Plus, there's a photo booth. Now, let's talk about those nachos. The nachos were nothing short of a masterpiece, elevating my dining experience to a whole new level. I went for the 3 taco combo with a fountain drink, chips, and salsa - the wait was only 10 minutes. Now, onto the main attraction--the putting extravaganza! My friend and I dove into the unlimited golf and games option ($29 per person), and boy, did we make the right choice. From one round of mini-golf to two rounds of the thrilling 1-2 putt, totally worth it and we could have played more. Place got very busy so we opted for more drinks. The course designs are nothing short of awesome, combining creativity with just the right amount of challenge. The 1-2 putt, in particular, is an absolute blast, reminiscent of shuffleboard but also a golf scramble with its two tries per hole, making it a competitive and laughter-filled experience. I had an incredibly disappointing experience at this establishment that I feel compelled to share. My friends and I were excited to visit for a fun evening of food and mini-golf, but our night was ruined before it even began. Upon arrival, the bouncer refused to allow us entry, accusing us of drinking outside the establishment and stating it was illegal in the state of California. All of us are out of state, only here for work for the summer, and the only rule we knew of is that the establishment doesn't allow outside food or drinks. One of us had disposed of a non-alcoholic can, but the bouncer wouldn't even verify this when we asked him if he was going to go dig in the trash to find out. Instead, he chose to profile us, saying, "We know how y'all get." We are a group of Black individuals, and this comment was not only offensive but blatantly discriminatory. He continued, "All of you probably pregamed this and plan on getting fucked up." We had no intention of getting "fucked up" as he insinuated. We simply wanted to enjoy a night of mini-golf and a meal, which was ruined by the unprofessional and biased behavior of the staff. To add insult to injury, we had previously canceled a booking for a party of 10+ due to the establishment's misleading website, which stated that people under 21 were allowed. When we called to clarify, we were told it's only 21+ after 6/7pm. This place clearly lacks clear communication and respect for its patrons. 0/10 would not recommend. This spot is DOPE. First off, we were immediately greeted by two enthusiastic welcomes and an abundance of good vibes. The place was absolutely bonkers since it was a Saturday night. Admittedly, the wait seemed a bit long for miniature golf, but the energy in the building was enticing as hell. The main host at front desk told us to make ourselves at home and that we didn't have to just "wait around," because he would text us when our group was up. He also told us to make ourselves at home and recommended the Mexican Candy shooter to start the night off right. He had us busting up laughing and when I mentioned him to the bartenders, they told us he was the General Manager! Personally, I thought that was very cool and that it was indicative of a strong connection with his employees. After finding a place to sit and have a couple drinks (plenty of space here, no shortage of tables and an open floor plan), the wait flew by. The course itself was surprisingly challenging (definitely not a cheesy windmill course), but it was refreshing to see a different take on miniature golf. Tipsy Putt is basically a sports bar with extracurricular activities. Incredibly well curated tap list - who ever is doing the beer buying is doing a great job! 25 draft beer options and 15 in-house draft cocktails on top of a huge wine and N/A selection. There is definitely something for everyone here The food is Mexican-American pub fare. Nothing mind blowing. Just very solid and satisfying bites. I got a 3 Taco combo with the pork belly taco and two carnitas tacos. Both satisfied my hunger! Whatever that sauce is on the carnitas was solid The staff is incredibly helpful and attentive to your needs. Offering suggestions and pointing us in the right direction of having the best experience we could have. The mini golf itself was super fun! It definitely helps when you go with great people (: It's a simple course and it's very clear they aren't trying to be "Golfland". So if you come here expecting something more, that's on you. Noticed this place has opened and wanted to stumble in. The place looks incredible and is brand new. Staff was extremely nice and attentive. Food was outstanding. Golf Course was different than anything we've played. Smaller but very fun and challenging. They have a game called 1-2 putt that is super fun and more screens than any bar I've been in around Sunnyvale or the Silicon Valley. Watching a game in here would be insane. Loved the ambiance and service. Loved the games and tall ceilings. I would say this is one of the best if not the best sports bar in the Silicon Valley. It's a sports bar, but it's also a mini golf bar with cool art, great food and all local beer. Regarding the Local Beer 100% local craft beer only. So a sports bar with NO bud light, Coors or any corporate beer was very refreshing. Their whole motto is to support local which is really cool. Overall, super impressed. Play table golf here if you must come. That's a unique experience, at least. You won't be happy if you play mini golf. It was by far the worst mini golf I have ever played. Mini golf is simply wood and beer kegs placed on top of putting turf; most holes have windmills and other bizarre designs. It sounds like a sloppy attempt to extort your cash. And hope you don't show up on a busy night. Between each hole, we waited ten minutes. Finally, they gave us a free 16-ounce drink in exchange for a review that included the identities of the front desk staff (I hope you Yelp admins are reading this). Naturally, we seized the opportunity. I only returned to amend my rating since I had such a bad experience with the mini golf. Buyer beware, though: the free beer offered here has most likely greatly inflated the establishment's rating. read more

I came by today to check out the new kid on the block and definitely was not disappointed! This is an incredibly welcoming space with high ceilings and an environment created to bring you in and keep you here! I took a seat at the bar and was immediately welcomed by Natasha, one of the bartenders. She was pleasant and had fantastic beer knowledge! The beer was properly carbonated and served in a clean glass which is always a huge plus ( you'd be surprised how many places miss the mark on this one.) She also recommended the chicken tikka tacos which were seasoned perfectly with a spicy kick. With my husband's intense obsession with golf, and my craving for a fun and clean atmosphere, I see this being a spot we will be spending a lot of time in. Finally something to do in Sunnyvale! Tipsy Putt has finally opened in downtown Sunnyvale and they are poppin! Tons of drinks to choose from, as they have 42 taps that make up local graft beer, ciders, seltzers, wine, and cocktails! This is definitely the most challenging golf course of the 4 locations they have, and dare I say the best! Their 1-2 Putt table golf game is a quicker play if you are looking for a faster experience. That being said, getting the annual membership is the way to go, free games all year and free upgrades on beer! Food is bomb, the Quesabirria's are fuego! My group also got the nachos which fed 6 of us easily. The service was excellent, there is an army of staff on to help assist with questions and have any answer you need, just look for someone wearing a Tipsy Putt shirt! read more

This place was so cool, I came here twice in one week! The staff is super attentive and friendly. They always reach out to make sure you are doing well and are often letting you know about promotions. The first time I went, I was informed about $5 margaritas and trivia, which is what brought me back the second time. When I came for the trivia night, our party of 3 couldn't find a table, and Nai helped us by literally bringing us a table and chairs! The tacos are a little on the expensive side, but they have some interesting selections like chicken tikka and korean bbq. The nachos are a great sharable item that I think is more worth the money. The minigolf is the main attraction here and I really liked the table top 1-putt golf which was a super fun take on minigolf. Im definitely coming back! read more

The lack of trash cans made the situation much worse. They advised us to go inside and dispose of our trash there when we asked to obtain a trash can outdoors. There ought to be at least one garbage can available if you're going to allow individuals to hire an outside spot. We didn't test the golf course because it was an extra fee on top of our rent; nonetheless, I wouldn't advise making a reservation for their outside area. There was a two-hour wait. We spent more than $600 on what amounted to a dog park at an apartment building, and there was absolutely no customer service or hospitality. Reserved one of the spaces for my friend's birthday party recently. Overall fantastic atmosphere and experience. The food they serve is a Mexican cuisine and it was great all around from the appetizers to the entrees. The tacos are tasty and visually appealing. I recommend the party nachos! Tonight was my first time checking out tipsy putt with a group of friends and there was a huge crowd. The place is very impressive, brand new facility and was really excited to try indoor putt putt. While standing in line to order food I decided to get drinks for my friends while they waited. Seemed a bit hectic but Natasha our bartender was very attentive and noticed us right away wanting to order at the bar. The beer I was very excited to try had run out, but Natasha was very quick to run back and get it back on tap. Very appreciative of her service and will come back again! What a cool spot! I was in the bay for work and stumbled upon this mega mini golf bar. They have tacos, they have games and they have a great drink selection. They also have a game called 1-2 putt that was pretty unique, I think they invented it? I've never played anything like it and it was a cool experience.
