I told her that I was calling to schedule a couple pedicures. She cut me off and very curtly told me that they are completely booked for the entire month, and then hung up. This place is a little gem! I used to work close by and I stopped by a few times. They are so friendly and clean. Ashraf does an amazing job with my nails and brows. They sterilize everything and use brand new files on each person. I strongly recommend the spa pedicure. My feet have never felt so smooth. Very unhappy with this business and will not be going back. I gave them a very adequate opportunity to respond to my complaints and they ignored me, so I decided to leave a review on Yelp so no on else would have to experience this. I like to support local businesses. I had a bad experience here the first time I had my eyebrows waxed, but I wanted to give them another chance. I made an appointment a week in advance for 2pm on a weekday. On the day of my appointment, Ashra called me at 1:20pm asking quite rudely if I was coming in. I said yes, I would be there at 2. She said, "It's 2:15!" I said, "No it's not, you must have forgotten to change your clock over the weekend". She didn't really apologize, just said they couldn't change their clock because it was up too high (you can't look at your phone or your watch?) and I could come in any time I liked. I arrived 5 minutes early. There were no customers in the shop. Ashra didn't offer to take my coat or offer me anything to drink, just hustled me into the tiny, cramped room in the back that looks like a storage closet. I have told her twice now that I have sensitive skin. Instead of being gentle, she literally ripped the skin off my eyelids and around my eyes and she pulled hair out of my head - that really hurt. It took a week for the spot on my eyelid to heal. Plus, my eyebrows look terrible - imprecise job. Very disappointed. read more

I needed a quick pedicure and no chip manicure on Friday afternoon and found Tips and Toes on Yelp. The owner, Terri, must have heard the desperation in my voice and agreed to stay a little late to squeeze me in. Terri and Ashra were both very welcoming and the salon was super clean and cozy. They have comfy, pipeless pedicure chairs and practice the highest level of sanitation. Being in the industry, it's always nice to spend an hour or so on the other side of the chair getting pampered. Sidenote: this is not a quick chop shop type of place. I asked for the no frills version of both services because I was in a hurry. Leave it to me to call last minute, ask to be squeezed in and want to be done in record time. I'm so glad I'm not my own client! Let me first say that I have been to a lot of nail salon's throughout the years and I have switched a few times due to how well my nails get done. I have yet to get mine done here (I've had 2 opportunities). I had an appointment on Friday (August 14th) at 4:30 for a mani-pedi. My sister was getting the same thing done, but her appointment was at 3:30. When I walked in at 4:30, she was still getting her pedicure done. The owner said that they weren't ready for me yet, so I went to go get a Starbucks, sat there for a few minutes, then came back. Still not ready. It was going on 5 o'clock and my sister was now sitting in a chair, reading a magazine, waiting to get her manicure. We had a dinner to go to at 6:30, and by the rate the place was going, I was not going to get done on time, so I made an appointment for Monday (August 17th) at 9 AM because I had a 2 hour window on a very busy day. I arrive at exactly 9 AM on the dot, walk in, only the boss was there. I tell her I have a 9 AM appointment for a manicure and pedicure, and show her my card. The woman who was supposed to do my nails, Sarah I think, wasn't there. Her boss called her on the phone, told her that her 9 AM was here (me), and she thought it was at 10 AM, and that she would be there in 20 minutes. Her boss asked me if I would mind waiting, but I told them on Friday that I had a 2 hour window, and I was not going to wait 20 minutes after experiencing bad service for the 2nd time in 3 days. So I left. If you are running on a tight schedule, don't expect to be done on time for whatever you have to get to. However, they do only have a couple of pedicure chairs and manicure tables, and not a lot of employees. But that does't mean that they should exhibit terrible customer service. Although the woman who was supposed to do my nails called later and offered a free pedicure, I had to decline because my day was busy and I was headed off to college the next day. Think twice before you make an appointment. read more
