This is my third time here and I absolutely love this place. My nails have never looked nicer. They do such a wonderful job with their manis and pedis. This is typically my neighborhood gem and I like the owner lady who always acknowledges me (was not there today). However, today was a one star service from Helen the manicurist. I could not believe the rude behavior (I still tipped her given the service industry). I was shocked. Here is what happened - barely acknowledge me during my pedicure - and then as the towels were wrapped around my feet she simply disappeared for quite some time. - the manicure part was the worst - she over a period or many many times tugged really really hard at my hand vs asking me to scoot in or herself to scoot in. - I asked for a rounded shape with point tip - absolutely the opposite with a square tip - oh well I wasn't too fussed - back massage time was equally strange tugging - making me move forward and tugging at me from the front vs all the other ladies doing it from the back - the worst at the end where she would not spray my feet and had no clue where my shoes are to help me preserve the pedi I got. She was miffed to pull off the tabs to help me or spray or wrap my toe nails in anyway. - I asked her if there was an issue and she was absolutely pissed at I am not certain what. I have never had such a rude experience here until today. If you read the recent reviews I hope the owners focus on their customer service once again. I've been hearing great things about this place for a while and thought I would come check it out. Earlier this week I called and booked a no chip manicure and regular pedicure. I was coming from work and was going to be a few minutes late so I called and let them know. They said "no problem, we'll see you soon." I walked in a few minutes after my appointment and quickly picked out my colors. I let the man at the front know I was ready and he told me to have a seat and that I would be helped shortly. I sat there waiting for about twenty minutes. While I was waiting three women walked in and asked if they could all get manicures. They were all sat and helped immediately. I was finally brought to a pedicure station where I proceeded to wait another 20 minutes with my feet in boiling hot water until a woman finally came over. She didn't acknowledge me and just grabbed my feet out of the water and started aggressively taking off the polish. She rushed through the entire treatment as fast as she could. We got to the manicure station where she started soaking my nails in alcohol and then proceeded to leave. I sat there for about another 25 minutes waiting for her to come back when I realized she was giving a child a manicure a few tables down. I watched her then drag this child by the hands over to the pedicure chair by her mom who was too busy on her phone to see any of this. At this point the women came over again to check on me and said I needed to soak longer. It had now been over thirty minutes. I got up, washed my hands and told them I could not stay any longer as I had dinner plans and didn't expect to be there for more then two hours. Wow is doing a very nice job managing through the Covid changes. They ask each client to use hand sanitizer immediately upon entering. Everyone was wearing masks, including each client. They have these cool partitions at the manicure booths. The pedicure benches fit two clients and have no partition which might worry some patrons but I felt ok. They are offering a cash discount now. I came in as a walk-in and was able to get serviced pretty quickly so that's good. Place is more modern than your average nail salon. It scared me that there were no prices posted. My no-chip manicure included a hand mask, hot towel over my hands and a hot towel shoulder massage, which was a nice addition. I was pleasantly surprised when I was charged $35, the same as many other salons that provide less service. The only reason I am giving it a 3 and not higher is because this is a nail salon and my nail lacquer was lumpy and super thick and the person doing my nails acted like she rather be anywhere but sitting with me. I love the atmosphere in here. I just moved to town and needed a nail salon quick a few months back and the manager ended up doing my manicure. Not only did she take her time, this was the first time ever I went to a nail salon where the staff wasn't speaking another language to each other the whole time while hurrying through their work. Mediocre. Tried this place because I needed a mani and pedi last minute and my regular place was booked. The aesthetic is nice but chairs are dingy. The pedicure chairs are basically bench seating, so no recline or massage, not relaxing. The nail techs don't speak much and aren't super friendly, at least the lady that did my nails. It also doesn't seem very clean and they don't really clean in between customers. My pedi was ok, not the best and my mani was fine, just felt rushed. Skip it. read more

I stopped by Wow today for the first time. I was there for a no chip manicure and pedicure. It was the BEST mani-pedi I've ever had!! My technician was gentile on my nails and the message for both services was amazing!!! The pedicure was thorough and polish applied very meticulously, as was the manicure. The first time I came here two weeks ago I had an amazing experience. Wow nails was a recommendation from a friend, I needed a place to get them done while I was in the suburbs. Booked an appointment on the phone for 4:30. I wanted a regular pedicure and a no chip mani. I was serviced right away, no wait. I made an appt with a specific person and time. Arrived at the place early, place was packed and no practice of social distancing at all. No consideration that's there's still COVID. They didn't disinfect areas where people sat. Took me on my appt time, let me soak my feet for 30 mins , owner didn't even apologize that's she overbooked. Started me 30 mins later after I have been soaking my feet then the lady doing the service didn't even check if I had no chip to prepare early, when she soaked my nails to remove the no chip she was assigned to another customer. Very aggravating that I made an appt for a specific person but yet I ended up with another person. As a consolation she didn't charge me for no chip. Will not go back to this place. Went there for a no chip mani and regular pedi. I should've left after the pedi. The tech asked if I wanted my toenails cut and I said yes. She then proceeded to touch each nail with the clippers and ended up clipping one nail. I asked her to cut them shorter and she did the same thing. Believe it or not, I ended up cutting my toenails myself and she just sat there. She proceeded to swipe each nail once with the nail file. Again, I ended up doing it myself because the corners were pretty sharp from when I cut them. Very disappointing. The mani was better because it lasted for a bit, but she didn't say a word the entire time. She did, however speak to her coworker in their language, which didn't bother me at all until I noticed she said something and then they'd both look at me. Worse service ever. read more

This was my favorite place of all time. The owner was fabulous, the salon was once spotless, and the service provided top notch. I hadn't been in a few months and then went the last week of March 2023. I think ownership has changed because it was a completely different experience. First, it's now much dirtier. Weeks of dust on table where towel warmer stands, unclean station, didn't see techs opening the sealed packages of tools they once did. Second, almost all of the techs are new. The atmosphere is much louder, cramped, disorganized. Tech kept answering the phone and walking away from the manicure to help people at the desk. She didn't say a word to me when doing so. The manicure itself was ok. But the experience was not worth $40. I will definitely not be coming back. read more

This used to be a good place. I guess it is when the owner is around. They increased their prices which is understandable. But guess what they decreased... the quality of their service-and it's clearly evident in the recent poor reviews they have received. The girls were not friendly at all and my pedicure lasted for about 15 minutes tops. There was no scrubbing or exfoliation done on my feet and I believe there was only 1 layer of polish applied to my toes in a very sloppy manner. I saw other customers get a shoulder massage after their service but I was not offered one. For about $90 with tip for a mediocre pedi and no chip mani, it's not worth the dissatisfaction you experience when leaving this place. I am sure there are many deserving salons that will be happy to receive my business. Past few times I have left unhappy with the service provided to me but I end up going there anyways since this is the closest to my house. It stops now. My first experience here was during their grand opening; they had great prices and served mimosas and had little chocolates for everyone. I loved it so I went back with my mom next time I was in town (I live in Michigan and Mom lives in Barrington) and they didn't offer anything... they were the most expensive place in Barrington... and they were so rude. My mom asked them to stop cutting her cuticles because it hurt so bad, the lady just ignored her and starting talking in another language to the other employee sitting next to her, so my mom asked a second time to stop because it hurt so bad. Once again, ignored. So my mom asked one more time and the lady got up and left and had someone else finish working on my mom's nails. I LOVE THIS PLACE!!! I've been to almost all the nail salons in the area and this is my new favorite spot. The employees are so nice and friendly, the decor is so chic and aesthetic, and they really did an amazing job. There is a plethora of beautiful colors to choose from, I chose a pearly color by Essie for my hands, and a deep purple-brown color for my toes. This place is unlike any other, it is so beautiful and professional. There are six pedicure stations and six manicure spots so it is great for parties or a group of friends who just wanna hangout and relax. We both think it's the best nail salon we've ever been to, which is saying a lot. We both have our licenses and typically do our own nails, but felt like being pampered today.
