I've been going to Tips and Toes for years and all of a sudden they started treating customers like they are nothing. Recently they've been nickel and dime everything. I got a full set, they added on more for the shape which was a rounded square. So what does a set include? Don't you have to shape the nail or am I supposed to wear the long plastic nail when you glue it on. I didn't find this out until i checked out. On top of that, they've been going up on their prices every few months. When I started going the gel fill was 25, now it's 35 plus $5 for a shape (which i wasn't charged for until recently). When I say something about them going up since I was there 3 weeks ago they look at me like I'm stupid and say it's been that price. I'm currently looking for a new nail place in Johns Creek read more

I am SO glad I found this place on yelp!! I ran into here on a limb because if you see my review for another nail salon with the horrible nail chipping picture..... you can see I desperately needed a fix. it was getting to the point to where I was embarrassed to show people my hands lol. I walked in and it's a beautiful salon that has been taken care of. great atmosphere. I asked the girl who greeted me if there's any way I could be seen for a gel polish removal and a replacement gel mani and I also informed her I needed to be out no later than 12:45 so I could be on time for work at 1 (I came at 11:50). she said yes and quickly sat me down. I told her how I would like my nails (cut short since they were damaged from the brutal job my last salon did) and square shaped. she immediately started the process on removing my gel polish. this salon was pretty busy and she disappeared for a few in order to attend to the guests entering the salon. I waited for about ten minutes and a new technician, Chrystal, came to me and finished what she had started. she removed my gel and started my gel polish process. Chrystal is awesome. she accurately and efficiently did an outstanding job on my nails and got me out at 12:32 so I wouldn't be late to work! she was fast yet still did her job with quality. very, very affordable. it was $20 for a gel polish removal and to get gel polish back on! normally it's $35 at past salons I've been to. I'll be back!! read more

I have been coming to this salon for close to 3 years and have been very satisfied with the services received. In fact my mom was visiting and I brought her in for "the best manicure she's ever had!". Tiffany always takes her time making sure my nails are perfect and won't lift or crack. And every tech that has done a pedicure has saved me from ingrown nails gently and left me highly satisfied with color that lasts 6-8 weeks! read more

Walked in today (early Wednesday afternoon) and was seen immediately. I had never tried SNS nails but all my friends told me it was healthier for your nails so I gave it a shot. Vanessa let me take my time picking some colors and did an amazing job doing ombré (with glitter!). All my friends had only seen/gotten ONE color before so I was very impressed that I could get ombré. Vanessa did an incredible job- her attention to detail was really amazing! She even explained the process to me because I was curious. She didn't talk much but I'm one of those people who would rather relax completely than make small talk so I was fine with this. I was in and out probably within an hour (the process took a bit longer for two colors). All in all it was an excellent experience and I will definitely be going back! read more

My favorite new place to go... I used to go to another place, but then all of the good people left. Crystal does my nails now (gel fill-ins) at Tips and Toes and I trust her completely. She is caring and gentle. When I walked in the first time, she was appalled at the job done at the previous salon, but promised that in one to two more visits, my nails would be so much healthier, and they are! I have to say that the most recent time Crystal did it was probably the best nail job I have ever had. Usually the bottoms of the gel get ragged and rough after a few weeks (which tells me it's time to come back) but this time it was 3 weeks and they still looked perfect and the bottoms of the gel were smooth and soft. Love coming here! I've already made an appointment for my daughter to see Crystal when she gets back from studying abroad. read more

Since I like doing my own nails (when I have the time!), I don't get professional manicures very often. However, every now and then, I will see an awesome deal for a gel manicure via a deal site. When I saw the Groupon for a $12 gel manicure ($25 value!), I couldn't resist buying it. Like many others who bought the Groupon, I waited 'til the very last minute - about two weeks before it was going to expire - to finally book an appointment. I was super lucky and grateful that the person who answered the phone actually booked an appointment for me to come in at 9:30 am, which is 30 minutes before opening time on a Saturday because that was the only time available. When I walked in at 9:30 am, there were two employees inside the store. I mentioned that I had an appointment for a gel manicure, and that I had a Groupon. They took my Groupon, and I was asked to choose which color I wanted for my gel manicure. Since I wanted a neutral, conservative color that would be work-appropriate, I didn't have many options. One employee suggested this very light pink shade called Bubble Bath. It looked pretty on the little plastic sample, so I agreed to get that. Unfortunately, my nails are brittle and broke the week before my appointment, so I had to get the manicure done on short nails. Boo. My nail technician, Tiffany, was very gentle as she filed my nails (round because they were too short and I had no choice T.T), trimmed my cuticles, etc. She was wonderful to talk to, and I thought everything was great - until the point when I had to put each hand in the UV gel lamp to cure (dry). The UV lamp that Tiffany used for me is super small. Although I have really small hands, my nails were almost touching the back of the lamp. They could have easily been ruined if I wasn't careful. At one point, I had to put both hands in it at the same time, and Tiffany told me a way to angle my hands so that the UV light would reach every nail. It was kind of annoying, and I could only imagine what a pain it would have been for someone with larger hands. I guess they probably have larger lamps available at the other nail stations, but not at mine. When Tiffany was done with my gel manicure, she told me to wash my hands, and then she applied lotion on my hands to finish. She was very polite and seemed surprised when I handed her my tip. That made me worry that maybe other Groupon users weren't tipping them appropriately. Overall, Nails Tips & Toes gets 4.5 stars for their wonderful, friendly service and Tiffany's excellent work on my gel manicure! Although the pink shade turned out to be a lot more translucent that I had hoped, it has lasted for two weeks now and still looks pretty good considering it's been that long. Nails Tips & Toes is all the way out in Alpharetta, but I highly recommend them if you are in need of a great manicure - and ask for Tiffany! =) [Review 196 of 366] read more

I was searching for a nail salon that specifically did nail art. I don't frequent nail salons, so I wasn't sure if that was just something that all salons should do. So, where does one go when wanting to research a business? Yelp, of course! While searching on Yelp, this was the only salon in the area that even mentioned anything about nail art, and also provided pictures of said nail art. So, I decided to give them a try. I walked in and asked for doughnut inspired nails. The ladies seemed very intrigued by this, and they assigned me to their nail art specialist (I'm sad I can't remember her name, though). I showed her a picture of what I wanted, and she replicated it pretty dead on! They also lasted a good 2.5 weeks. I would definitely go back, even if I'm not looking for some fancy nail art next time. Everyone was super friendly, prices were right, place was clean, and the nail art is fantastic! read more

Tiffany Tiffany Tiffany! Three magic words to someone like me who has ingrowns. She's a surgeon. Period. Tips and toes knock it's out the park! Love you guys! read more

Just got a fantastic manicure and pedicure here from some lovely ladies. I am very picky when it comes to nail salons, annoyingly so really. Here they were friendly, used great quality paint, didn't hurt me and most importantly they LISTENED to what I wanted. Here's how it broke down. Service: Fantastic! The gal at the front greeted me and was super friendly. I was shown to the back and placed in a comfy chair to soak the feet. My pedicurist was very nice and listened to my concerns and requests regarding a toe which tends to get ingrown if not handled carefully. She also spent a lot of time making sure I was comfortable (I'm 9 months pregnant). The manicurist came over and started working on my hands and was equally kind and listened just as well. She filed my nails how I like and was super friendly. All in all just awesome service from a nail salon. Polish: They have China Glaze, OPI and Essie nail polishes as well as some gel polishes which I did not really look at but will next time. Many different colors to chose from and all in good condition from the looks of it (none of the dried up colors I see in some salons) Quality of work: The manicure and pedicure both look fantastic. I am picky about these things and here they paint all the way to the edges but not on your cuticle. Just a real solid varnish job. The massage on the pedicure was very pleasant. Often it's too strong or too weak and they don't really care. Here they look at you and read your cues and it really makes for a great experience. Nails look great, hands and feet feel great. Win/Win. Price: Ok here's where I am just beside myself, the mani pedi were $33. I have paid more than this this just for a basic mani at some of the "fancy" salons and not had nearly as great a job performed. I know Alpharetta is more affordable than Seattle or San Francisco or even Buckhead, but really?! $33 for a fantastic mani-pedi? Amazing and so worth it. I will definitely be back to get the nails done and at these prices I can afford to come often. read more

UPDATE 5/10/13: Still awesome and now expanded with more (and new!) chairs. 12/30/2011: This place deserves more than five stars! Owners are FABULOUS and sooooo nice. The place itself is very relaxing and more like a spa. The chairs are really nice and the best discovery is that they offer an ORGANIC pedicure!!! It's close to my house so I'm thrilled to have found such a great nail salon close by. :) read more

I've tried 4 times now to schedule an appointment to use my Groupon. Each time I call, there are 1 or 2 times available, and all either in the middle of the week during work hours or a date I can't make. I've been informed they are only scheduling a certain number of "Groupon appointments" each day. After the 4th time calling, I asked for a manager and none was available. I left my name and number asking for a callback and after 1 week, I hadn't gotten one. So I went ahead and contacted Groupon. THEY then said they would contact the salon and ask them to contact me. That was a week ago. I still have not heard from the salon. I did, however, hear from Groupon this morning and they have been unable to get anyone at the salon either. At this point, I don't even know if I want to use the Groupon. If I do, I'm near certain it will be the only time I ever set foot in this salon. Regardless of how wonderful this salon's services supposedly are, I'd be leery of a place that treats any type of customer this way. Also - I sent a message to "Jennie N." who responded below to my first review. She never got back to me and then apparently blocked me so that I can no longer send her any messages. That doesn't seem very customer friendly at all. read more

This is the best nail salon in the area! They are friendly and so consistent with their service. My gel polish lasts for weeks.

As a full time, stay at home mom I'm not one who generally has time for pampering myself. I have had mani/pedis in the past of course, but what really drew me to this nail salon was that they offered organic treatments. I made an appointment for a Friday morning and they were ready for me as soon as I arrived. Being 37 weeks pregnant at the time it was great to go straight to a pedi chair that was ready and waiting! The salon itself was very clean and orderly and unlike other nail salons you weren't knocked out by the normal acrylic and acetone smells. They have a huge selection of polish colors and only carry my favorite brands - China Glass, OPI & ORLY. I have had their polish on my toes for two weeks now and they are still as perfect as they were when I left the salon. I am planning on going again this weekend for another pedicure and a gel manicure and am very much looking forward to it! My only complaint, which isn't really much of a complaint: this was my first time out of the house on my own for 16 months and I was looking forward to reading my book and relaxing while getting my pedi and the girl insisted on talking to me the whole time. She was super sweet, but I never get a chance to just sit and read and had been looking forward to that. Great experience! I'll never go anywhere else! read more

Great experience! I received a Groupon for my birthday from my mom for a Tips and Toes gel manicure. I called ahead to make an appointment and was greeted as soon as I arrived. I was a few minutes early so I took a seat in their waiting area. All the technicians were with other customers when I arrived but they were ready for me as soon as my appointment time rolled around. The interior is definitely not your run of the mill nail salon. Very nicely decorated and felt like a spa! The owners are fantastic and you can tell that they take a lot of pride in their work and business. I was extremely happy with my manicure and was in and out within 30 minutes! GREAT customer service and I will definitely be back! For those who are going to be using a Groupon, I highly recommend booking an appointment in advance because they are super busy!! read more

I would not recommend this salon. Nail-techs are not all licensed resulting in sub-par results and infections. Customer service from the owner and nail-techs has drastically declined over the years. I have patronized this salon for 5 years and have watched the quality of the business go from 5 stars to one. It saddens me that I must find a new salon-home. read more

I have been to this place twice. My first time going here was a very pleasant experience. I got a regular manicure. I love the atmosphere and they were very nice and didn't speak another language in front of you which made me feel very comfortable. However, my second experience wasn't as good. I got an express pedicure and a full set. The woman who did my nails seemed very annoyed the whole time. After she had polished my full set she informed me that my nails would be $30 rather than the normal $25. She said it was because I got a longer length and they had to use more acrylic. I've never heard of a nail salon charging extra for length. Especially considering they're not ungodly long, just not short. She ended up just charging me $25 for the nails but after I complained that I wasn't informed until they were already done. They're prices are higher than most nail salons but the environment is nice. They do a good job and I would probably go back but only if I was getting short length nails. read more

Great Nail Salon! My sister and I went to this salon last week before New years. She had a Groupon and treated me to an ORGANIC mani/pedi. The salon was beautiful newly redecorated. The staff was so friendly and attentive. My green tea was just what I needed with my cold. They gave us an option to upgrade to gel nail polish for only $12 more so we both took advantage of the gel nail polish. I have to say it's been more than a week and my nails still look amazing. Thank you guys. I like the fact that they use ORGANIC creams and lotions for the pedicure, this is great for someone with sensitive skin like me. I live in Baltimore but every time I visit my sister I plan on coming back to this Salon. Thank you guys, you ROCK! read more

I've been to many nail salons over the years and ended up with a fungal infection. Eeewww! I went to a podiatrist who prescribed a topical medication. It took almost two years to finally be rid of the infection. As one might imagine, I'm very leery of nail salons, but this salon is like no other! Every basin is scrubbed after each customer, instruments are sterilized and sealed in packages, and the entire salon is spotless! All of the staff are friendly and the atmosphere is relaxing. I will definitely be going back. read more

I've been coming here for years. Service is amazing and my nails are always done to perfection. You get your choice of pedicure from a menu of services. The salon is always clean and welcoming. They offer a beverage as well as a fun candy bar - who doesn't need a sweet treat when you're treating your hands and feet?!? I swear by Crystal for my nails and Tracy for my toes but all the techs are great. I also get my eyebrows and lip waxed here so they are definitely full service! I usually set an appointment but have had to walk-in on occasion, which has never been a problem. They also have a loyalty app which after a number of visits grants you a discount so I'm happy to return! Don't think I could ever go anywhere else. Tips and Toes is the best!!! read more

Got a middle ground pedicure and was not impressed at all! More hurt than luxury. They seemed to be in a rush and unorganized. Why are they rushing when there are literally 6 customers in the shop? She cut my toes down until they bled. In addition I asked for an eyebrow wax... did not get it. That could have led to a lip wax. I could have done my own feet better and was looking for a relaxing experience. Worst pedicure I have ever gotten. This place needs to learn to communicate. I am not happy and will never be back!!! read more

Great!!! Loved it! And they have a app for that! Coupons and deals! Honor appointments!!

This place is right next to work, which is great! I like the atmosphere...it feels like a spa in there. They play really nice relaxing music. The staff is very friendly, and extremely accommodating. It's really big so it is airy and doesn't have the stuffy smell of nail polish fumes. They really do a good job every single time I go there. The only reason they didn't get 5 stars is that while the actual cleaning and polishing of the nails is good, the message (an equal part of the service) was not that great. I got a $5 coupon for checking in on Yelp, so the next time I'm there, I'm going to ask for their organic treatment. read more

Tips and Toes - Perfect Gel Manicure by Chau :-) - Nail Salons Near Me - Alpharetta, Georgia

First off the staff was very friendly from the moment I walked in I was greeted by Jackie who is a sweetie! The nail salon itself was very clean and didn't have that strong chemical polish scent I have had my fair share of nail shops and I'm very picky about who I let do my nails and how I like them done to perfection. Mandy did my gel manicure and I was so impressed! She polished them perfectly!! I didn't have to guide her through polishing or tell her to get the corners(ladies you know what I mean) She is fabulous and had me laughing the whole time. I felt like I was having a girls day out with Mandy doing my nails. I will say I had a fun time at the nail shop and I've never had that experience by myself. I love too how the salon has their own app and you get incentives for just being a customer. I advise everyone to try this nail salon because I am now their new returning client!! The negative reviews on here maybe they just had a bad day because the gel nail dryers are not small if you have big hands then maybe that might not work but my hands fit just fine. Also too they may be busy but that's a good thing meaning they do great work you don't want to go to an empty salon that would make me worry! Some people need to use common sense! you don't walk in hair salon expecting to be seen right when you walk in the door. Anywhoo! #teAmMandy read more
