Tom took the time to go over the bike with me in great detail, and gave me a list of priorities for repairs. We agreed on a list of things for him to do, and a list of things that i could do myself to save some money. He worked within the budget I had and did a quick turnaround to get me going MUCH better than before. Tom knows BMW's in/out and i wouldn't want to take mine to anyone else. Honest, knowledgeable, thorough, and worth every dollar spent! The best part was that Tom check on the bike a couple of days afterwards to make sure that all was well, and AGAIN a couple of weeks later. Customer service like that is hard to come by these days. I had just had a bad…read moreexperience at another bike shop where I was told it would be worked on quickly, then 2 hours later they "still hadn't heard from their e-bike mechanic" who was running late I work or something. So I brought the bike back to brooklyn and to Edgewares. The owner of the shop stopped what he was doing to come take a cursory look. When the battery was fizzing he knew there was a bigger issue so instead of promising a quick turn around he said he wanted to find the real problem but it could take time, and he'd follow up with an estimate. I appreciated the quick review and honest timeline. I got a call later that he had discovered some glitchy wires that may have also been shorting the battery and he had contacted rad wagon and found it. It was under warranty and was able to get me a replacement bike. I was floored! I was happy to pay for set up of the new bike as they had put a lot of time into it. When I realize I had forgotten the key lock for the battery when picking up the new bike they came to my house a mile and a half away to pick it up. It was incredible customer service. I have two ebikes and kid bikes and this place will be my go to for servicing in the future !

I filled out the paperwork on the Internet and mailed the leather bags to their Manhattan shop. I received a call the day the handbags were received. I gave a credit card number to repair both bags for $150 and $35 shipping and handling. I was told the bags would be returned to me within two weeks. The bags were returned by FedEx and have a glossy luster and shine now. The black bag looks like new and the white is better but not perfect.

I'm not sure what question I asked but I had to repeat myself a couple of times and I remembered feeling like an idiot afterwards. The next time I needed something later that year I went all the way Arnold's on 8th Ave because I thought the guys at Ferrara would be annoyed to see me. Other memorable events: In 2013 I needed my front bike tube changed and now that I was a bit more seasoned and confident, I went back to Ferrara's. Price for the tube and replacement was within range of what I expected but the turnaround was not-- like 1-2 days and I was impatient lol. Thanks to that experience, I learned how to replace a tube myself that day. In 2019 I needed a back spoke replaced and both wheels trued. They were friendly this time but there was another issue-- this time they lacked urgency. I wanted it done ASAP and was willing to pay more for it but I was informed alas that there were a bunch of jobs ahead of mine so it would be ready overnight at the soonest. That might've been believable but Bob and the other guy there weren't actually servicing any bikes and just chatting when I came in. The good thing that came from that experience? It took me around two hours and I got my hands dirty but I learned to replace spokes and true wheels myself later that day. IMO this isn't really a business so much as it is post-retirement social gig. And power to Bob! I could only dream of being in a well-enough economic position to do what he does.

The woman behind the counter (Margo, I gather from other reviews) was very helpful in giving pointers for replacing the tubes myself. She showed me the larger box that my tubes came out of to demonstrate that even though I asked for 700x32 size, and these said 27x1 1/4, they were the correct size conversion. Her mastiff, Wiggles, really wanted to say hello to me but was blocked by a baby gate. I'll be back here for sure if I ever need any other bike parts or service!
