I figured I'd go to the big box store (not Home Depot as I'm boycotting) but got diverted to Ace because of flooding. Checked them out and figured I'd do a price check by heading to the other place. Lo and behold, Ace was comparable in price and had a better selection. This wasn't the first time I went to Ace either. They beat the price for a garbage disposal by $50 just a week previous. This location is well stocked and has friendly help. They also have a bbq supply place attached that has some cool stuff. I've even bought my stocking stuffers here in the past. I highly, highly recommend this location. Parking is available in the back for those who are afraid of trying to find a spot. Great option for your hardware needs.

One time I took a pair of rusty scissors that were my favorite shears and he was able to not only sharpen them but remove all the rust. Most cuts and gashes happen because of dull knives. Why? Because one has to use more force. Why should you always be upset that your scissors don't cut! Or that your shears for fabric don't make that clean sound when cutting? Anything with an edge on it, this sharpenning master can do it. You can leave your items and he will call you when they are ready. I have literally taken every single knife and scissor to this man. Unless you have a sharpenning block and machine, there is no device that will sharpen your knives as well as this man.

Mike performed magic on those edges! Echoing Stu W's comments, the Shun was significantly sharper than new and sliced a tri-tip roast like it was butter, the easiest tri-tip I've ever sliced. I was in the area and stopped in recently. I love to wander through the store. The displays are beautiful. I could spend a long time just looking at everything. I did spend quite a bit of time on this visit. Only one employee acknowledged me while I was in the store. That was because we were walking towards each other in a small space. The rest of my visit was spent browsing but when I had questions there was no one around. There were staff members at the counter but they were chatting amongst themselves. A few customers came in and out while I was there but it wasn't busy at all. This store is good for looking at and touching physical items, but I will be ordering online. Sad that customer service has declined so much in retail stores.

Be aware it's a business Costco so they don't have a food court, tire center, pharmacy, or gas station. Because it's a business center they also don't have roasted chickens, sporting goods, or clothes. What they do have is office and cleaning supplies, eggs, dairy fruits and vegetables. They have bulk cuts of meat that you can't find at your normal Costco like whole briskets, beef cheeks, ox tails, pork shoulders. They sometimes have items that you won't find at normal Costco's. They also have large bags of ice They don't have everything that you can find at normal Costco's but they have other items that you can't find there too so I guess it just depends what you're looking for. I like buying beef ribs, boneless short ribs, and ox tails. I mostly like that they are open early so I can avoid the crowds.

It's much more convenient if you're stopping in for a few things, but be aware that most shoppers, particularly in the early morning, are buying supplies and groceries for their businesses. While it looks like fewer shoppers are at the registers, they are buying in bulk, so expect a wait. Both customers and employees appear content and cordial. You can also see the regulars know each other and help each other out, which is refreshing. Another thing to be aware of is that it can get very cold in the produce area; lots of customers are wearing extra layers. I couldn't handle how cold it was in the meat section as I was only wearing shorts and a shirt. I do like this location since I haven't seen any fluff sellers trying to explain their service or product. There isn't a fast food station (no hot dogs, chicken bake, pizza slices, rotisserie chicken, chicken wings, or soft serve). I didn't see clothes, books, toys, or flowers either. I don't think they do sample stations either. Removing these individual consumer items helps create a positive experience by reducing congestion in the parking lot and aisles. If you talk to any of the staff, you get a positive experience and even time to banter, which they seem happy to chat without the chaos of long lines and crowded stores. Maybe it was just the timing of my visit, but I still enjoyed the experience here!

I only have two malls i consistently go in San Diego, the Fashion Valley Mall and the UTC Mall…read more However, UTC mall is more of a leisure... to walk around and kill time, for my son to play at the playground, for the festivities on the holiday season especially Xmas, to have family fun dates and good food experiences at nearby restaurants and the mall I always go to every time I have issues with my Apple iPhone and techs. The fashion Valley Mall tho, is my main mall. This is the mall where I actually do most of my shopping. We watch movies at the AMC theater when we have extra time and get food at the cafeteria/food court area after hours of walking. My son never misses going inside the Laderach to get a free taste, the best chocolate there is. We love going to this mall, especially with my son now being a teenager, we would most likely be doing lots of our shopping activities here especially at his favorite boutiques, like the zumies, Hollister, Rayban, and plenty others I do not recall.... We also love going to The escape room where the mall is. My favorite is the Nordstrom Rack! ;) The holidays tho could get really packed and busy but there's alot of nice things to see and lots of good deals to look forward to.

Pros: *Surprisingly easy parking (a rare mall miracle) *Huge mix of stores from bougie to budget - Louis Vuitton, Coach, Hollister, Macy's, Nordstrom's, Neiman Marcus, H&M, Zara, and Gucci to name a few *Open-air vibe with palm trees; very San Diego aesthetic with a tropical feel; complete with fountains and artistic landscaping *Solid food options with a food court, cafes, and kiosks, Cheesecake Factory, Seasons 52, and my fav, True Food Kitchen *Clean and well-maintained and easy to wander around *There's a lot of variety here to keep you entertained *They have seasonal events that is a nice addition to shopping Cons: *Felt oddly empty for a Sunday..kinda eerie but it may be an introvert paradise *Dangerous for your wallet (you will overspend) *Some stores seem like they're hanging on by a thread *Malls just don't hit like they used to despite the pros- mainly because everything has gone up!
