After a chipped blade and a botched sharpening job meant to fix, not worsen, the situation, I was eager to find someone to restore my knife to like-new conditions. The knife was used without my permission, but I am not likely to lend my knives to someone else, especially to someone who is generally rougher with their tools... While not the best or most expensive knife, this one has sentimental value to me because it was my first Japanese knife. So, I was particularly downtrodden and disappointed with its current state, performing more like a dull wedge than a sharp blade. It's called the "Kai Seki Magoroku Damascus Santoku Knife" at 165mm. I selected Full Throttle Sharpening because it serves National City, where I live. My correspondence with Chris was efficient, receiving timely responses and effective communication. The pricing was fair considering the condition of the knife, as well as pick-up and drop-off services. Despite a slight delay due to the need for a polishing compound, the knife was returned to me beautifully shiny and laser-sharp. After a few back and forth messages, which were timely and helpful, Chris showed up today on time and ready to go as agreed. I had some really, really, really dull knives that needed some serious attention. He got to work immediately and I now have my knives back to a maybe better than brand new shape.
