I'm a hairstylist & have Hikari Shears. If you don't know about Hikari, they're very high end, fine tuned, and delicate. I used to live in la, and did hair there 30 years. I only got my scissors sharpened at Hikari Headquarters. It was so difficult when I first moved to San Diego. 2 separate ppl did such a bad job with my shears I literally cried. Melissa's work is as good as the Hikari sharpeners in Gardena. Seriously. Thank you for fixing my shears Melissa! She can also repair any warps or accidentally dropped shears, making them good as new. I wouldn't go anywhere else in the SD area, I highly recommend her skills. read more

I recently brought in my Zwilling J.A. Henckels Four Star Knife Set which includes a favorite boning knife to Melissa, the owner of Sharp Perfection. I have needed to have my set sharpened for years and finally brought them to Sharp Perfection and I couldn't be more pleased. Right now I am having skewered chunks of grilled chicken that I am able to slice thin like prosciutto with my 3" pairing knife. To say my knives are now sharp is an understatement. All the knives are like a hot butter knife to a block of butter. This morning I dropped the knives off and Melissa had them done; wrapped, and perfectly ready to go within an hour. Business card and a band-aid in my bag ready to pick up [lol]. On the way home I shopped for a ton of vegetables and various other ingredients to make my favorite quiche this weekend. I cannot believe I had waited this long to get my knives sharpened. I know cooking will now be that much more fun because I can cut laser fast through my ingredients. Ah, absolutely thrilled to have my 10 shears sharpened by Sharp Perfection. Firstly, she was incredibly professional and right on time. My mother and I were recommended by our instructor to try Sharp Perfection as we recently had a bad experience with getting our shears sharpened by a local sharpener. Not only did she analyze what had gone wrong with our previous service with a different sharpener but she repaired the damages done and boy do they cut like butter! In this day and age, we all know the difficulty finding someone who is an expertise in their field. Today people do everything half ass and if you want some honesty........many don't give a crap.! Therefore when I find a gem such as Mellissa , I have to put it out there. After sending in several sets of shears and blades, I was very surprised to 1. Receive them back so quickly. BUT WAIT THERES MORE 2. This review is way overdue, sharp Perfection is just that! Melissa is not only skilled at her trad but she also has a grooming background which to us groomers is huge! It's hard enough to find a sharpener in San Diego, it's even worse finding a sharpener you trust to know what your talking about when you describe what your shears are doing or what they need!
