I am always on the hunt for unique, flavorful food, and Hot City Tacos absolutely delivered! Hands down, one of the BEST battered fish tacos I've ever had! Perfectly battered, deliciously flavorful, and everything a great fish taco should be. My friend ordered three different tacos, and every single one was amazing, chicken, beef and.... prime rib in a taco? WHAT?! Absolutely fabulous! I love a restaurant that thinks outside the box and isn't afraid to get creative with its menu. From inventive burgers to unique taco combinations and even enticing fried rice, this place has something for everyone. The menu is refreshingly different, and I honestly wish I had more time to work my way through it! The service was friendly, the prices were reasonable, and the food was memorable.

So good we had to order another one! We got extra protein on the side, veggies on the side, and pickled onions on the side. Then we had to grab TWO to-go plates because the portions are so big, we could seriously feed four people! And because apparently we hadn't ordered enough food already , we added an asada taco too. At that point, we looked at each other and said, "Well... I guess we got lunch AND dinner for tomorrow!" Great portions, great flavor, great service. Hot City Tacos, y'all did that! We decided to give this place another go after not coming for a while and it was kind of…read moredisappointing to be honest. I got an Asada Wet Burrito and Jess got the enchilada plate. We also got a side of chips and salsa and two mini tacos, one with Al pastor and the other with barbacoa. The Asada tasted bad. The rest of the burrito was fine. The green sauce was great, pico and guac were fine. But the meat had this weird old tasting flavor to it. It even had a rancid smell to it after pulling a few pieces out to see what the problem was. I immediately had to stop eating it, the pieces were also fatty, tough and hard like a pebble. The chips also tasted old and stale, like store bought chips left out for a while. The Al Pastor was the highlight of the meal. The meat tasted charred, it was flavorful and well seasoned. I honestly should've grabbed a burrito with that meat instead. Barbacoa was just ok, nothing to write home about. A little more tough than what we've had from Chipotle. Not really seasoned. Overall, disappointed. Los Arbolitos was the spot to go to for a really good asada burrito. Unfortunately this doesn't seem like the case anymore. Was really hoping to find another local spot for our Mexican food cravings but I don't think it's going to be this one after all.

For 1 burrito and 1 taco with tip, came out to around $33. Don't do delivery from here. The Burrito was not very good. The meat was almost like ground beef in texture but also non existent at the same time. I tasted more beans than rice but even then, it was more of a soupy burrito with a tortilla that you had to rip at and hope each bite wouldn't undo the whole burrito. There was some kind of salsa inside it that wasn't apart of the description. It gave it an off flavor. Al Pastor taco was meh. The corn tortillas tasted homemade, which was nice. But the meat was stringy, kind of fatty and an off color almost a light orange. It tasted better than the asada but still wasn't very good. I do appreciate they followed my request for extra salsa, but these packs look like they come from a frozen dinner you get at the store. Absolutely off putting. The flavor was "ok" but nothing special. Overall, not worth it. $33 and I was left with an upset stomach. I had such high hopes! I haven't been in a long time and was hoping it would have been an amazing experience. I was wrong. I gave 3 stars cause I do appreciate them following the special instructions most other restaurants don't. But that still can't justify the food.
