Cool little place for all kids. The train conductors and volunteers were friendly and helpful and made the experience fun. Neat little route that takes about 15-20 minutes around the property. Lots of small replica buildings for the kids to either peek into, explore inside. There is a playground with slides and swings towards the end of the complex. We visited the concession stand and had ice cream cones which were great on a hot day that we visited. Plenty of free parking across the street, and we did stop into the souvenir shop and ended up getting a t-shirt. There is about 50/50 sun and shade so bring an umbrella and coat up with the sunscreen!

Friend recommended Tiny Town as a great place for kids (of all ages). Good choice. The star attraction for the 5 and 3 year olds in our group was the miniature train that travels a 5/8 ths mile track in 9 minutes around the park. There is a coal fired engine and an oil engine. Volunteer Engineers know how to keep the kids entertained. Beside the train(s), there are miniature houses and other stuff, some of which can be entered by children. Tiny Town has been here since 1915 and some of the things look to be dated back to then. Other more recent houses have been added. Upkeep must be tough, or at least it looks like it. There is also a playground with swings and slides which was also an attraction. Definitely worth a visit if you have little ones.

This is a charming little place where the star is the train. And who doesn't love the miniature train ride? Kids and brave adults can even ride in the caboose. It's not overly pricey for an afternoon excursion with kids near Denver. They have food but it's a limited menu, which again, no issues. There is also a small gift shop. I can't say how much is volunteering and how much are paid employees but with land at a premium, I imagine there are hefty property taxes. Locally owned and operated by people who put their heart into their product are far better than anything owned by a nameless conglomerate who only cares about profit. So why 4 instead of 5 stars? For starters, the snack bar is cash only. Yes, there is a convenient ATM but there is also a $3 surcharge. I get that CC machines charge a usage fee every time the card is swiped but a $3 seems on the high end. The other reason was we had a dog with us. We asked before we went in if she could go to and we're told no dogs. I imagine it's because they don't want dogs marking the miniature buildings and dealing with irresponsible owners who won't clean up after their dogs. Fine. No problem. We took turns sitting with the dog so she wasn't in a hot car and there were other people doing the same thing. However, they allowed someone's dog about the size of a bichon frise to wander the grounds and not a single employee pointed out the no dog policy. Moreover, if said dog was truly a service dog, it would have been identified as such and in this case, it wasn't. How do I know you ask? Because my husband said something to them about their dog being inside the park and me on the other side of the fence with our dog. The owner said it was not a service dog. So please, either allow dogs or inform guests of the no dog policy.

This place was some what interesting, but pretty run down, like it hadn't been updated since 1979... we like exploring weird/unknown places, and even though this was a kids place we were hoping to still see some weirdness. But on the uniqueness scale I'd give it a 4/10, so it's something you could skip if you're coming here just for that. But if you have a child who's under 5, I'm sure they'll have an okay afternoon.

Cash is faster... and also preferred by people who don't want a paper trail of how much business they actually conduct.

Another one of these odd Colorado "historical" obsessions. As a Colorado native who was born here and lived a majority of my life here, I have to say that I don't get it. It's really nothing more than a small tourist trap on the side of the road. Among some of the "tiny houses" you will see here are the porta potties, so enjoy that. At the ticket booth they have a sign discouraging people from paying in any format other than cash. This is a red flag for illegal activity, because money launderers and tax evaders prefer cash transactions with no paper trail. But it seems like most of the money here is being spent on signs telling you all the stuff you aren't allowed to do here. Steer clear of the gift shop too, unless you are in the market for some Chinese knock-off Legos called "Cegos" or other overpriced imported junk. Other than all of those issues, kids seem to like this stuff and the price is fairly cheap. So it could be worse, I guess.

Great place to take it easy while the kids do their thing. $24 for all of us including the train ride. Definitely recommend.

It was really nice to be able to sit and relax while the kids released their pent-up energy on the playground.

Although we struggled through changing of insurance agents and some weather issues Ben was persistent to getting the job done. I didn't have to lift a finger! He was able to negotiate with my insurance company so that it didn't cost me anything out of pocket. The work on the house was done quickly, professionally, and without any mess. They were in and out in one day and the work is professional. It looks so beautiful, I was extremely satisfied. I recommend Crown Eagle Restoration and thank you for a job well done! Looking for a time capsule then loon no further as you have found it right here at Lakeside!…read more This park really is awesome as you can tell it's been kinda just left to the elements of time as everything here just felt like the 1960's which was totally cool with me because its unique to any other park I've been to in the country and that alone created this incredible vibe! It seems like they are only open at night which is awesome because I love going to the park at night as it creates a whole new atmosphere that the day can't match from the sights and sounds you can't really go wrong with a night at the park! Lots of this park is very run down like it really needs some help which made me kinda sad but happy to see it's still in operation if I had the money I'd totally fix it up and keep it nostalgic to its roots like get the roller coaster going and what not! Wild Chipmunk alone was worth the trip here as you don't see many coasters like that being operational anywhere a true gem in the coaster world! Their train ride was awesome too takes you to the edge of the property around the lake making for a long fun ride that we totally loved! They offer all day wristbands or tickets since we only rode a few things we went with the tickets making for a bit of a saver for us money wise so just plan accordingly if you choose this path! Overall this park is awesome I'd love to see it get the love and respect it deserves as I can tell this is a very valuable asset to this community and I hope to come back here again at some point because this truly is up there with my favorite parks I've ever been to straight up a vibe here the whole time!

This was a fun time & an easy to plan event! To make a reservation you need at least eight racers…read more (Spectators can come & watch, no charge.) We had ten racers & a group of spectators. Each racer got two 12 lap races, food & drink, one hour reserved seating, arcade tokens & top finishers got medals - plus all racers got to race together with a reserved time. The price was about $80 per racer. We paid separately for additional food for spectators. These go carts are electric, so no smell & pretty quiet. A few things to note, racers need to be at least 48 inches tall & if you have more than twelve racers you then split into two groups. Also, K1 has an Arrive & Drive option for just racing, it's first come first serve. The day we went was for a birthday. After checking in racers registered & signed waivers after which they got balaclavas & helmets. Instructions were given but it was rather hard to hear. Our racers had a blast...they loved it - it was a great experience. Right after racing our lunch was ready, it was served buffet style. We choose Cheese & Pepperoni Pizzas, BBQ & Buffalo Chicken Wings & soft drinks. There were no salad or vegan options. The pizza was good, however the wings were even better & delicious. Since we were a big group we had a private party room. The only outside food allowed was dessert. Our party ran smoothly, the staff was friendly & very helpful. All in all a great time!

Something to do in nice in a while but for me not a frequent adventure. The staff was nice and helpful and knowledgeable. They also give military discounts. As far as pricing I would think they would give junior drivers at a cheaper rate.

Ok, this place is crazy expensive, so as long as you're ok with that, read on…read more My kids wanted to try the Alpine Slide and the Gold Coaster. We weren't sure if we should buy one ride for $45 per person, or get the 3-pack. We went a couple of times in the afternoon and there was impending rain. The ticket seller told me we would lose our tickets if they had to shut down for weather (which generally comes in the afternoon), so we decided to come first thing the next morning for better chances of no rain. We were first in line and got our tickets and went to the alpine slide. My sons 8 and 11 thought the slide was lame because they couldn't reach far enough to push the lever forward to go fast and they slowed a lot of people down behind them. Because I had to ride with my daughter who is under the height limit, I was able to push the lever but it was challenging. The alpine slide was underwhelming. We then went to the Gold Coaster and it was AMAZINGLY FUN! We all loved it and rode it twice. Every person we saw had a smile on their face at the end of the ride. We all wished we would have used all three passes on this ride. We don't do any of the other attractions because they didn't seem worthy of using one of our three passes. If you buy the unlimited pass, I could see doing the other items to pass the time and get your $$'s worth. One tip: the ticket seller said if we did a 1 or 3 ride pass and wanted to come back and upgrade to a higher package we could just pay the difference between what we had already paid and the other package amount we wanted to upgrade to. I liked that that was an option. Going in the morning mid-week really helped avoid long lines. I also think it helped that it was mid-August and many kids are already back in school.
