My partner and I hadn't gone out for most of COVID, so it was about time to go on a date! I did…read morequite a bit of research on VR spots in Denver, and Kaboom came out towards the top. I'd only done VR once in Indiana (LOVED the experience) so I was nervous about trying somewhere new. While going through the booking processed, I called to ask if my partner and I could share one VR station, and they were totally fine with this. Made sense once I got there, but it wasn't clear on the website. Overall the booking process and check-in was seamless. Plenty of parking in this shopping center. It wasn't very busy when we walked in. Kaboom seemed to be populated by lots of regulars using it as a cyber cafe (feels like high school) but we were greetly warmly and given a quick and thorough orientation. The variety of games was just okay, but honestly as long as a VR system has an escape room, I'm pretty happy. The VR headsets were corded and the ceilings were relatively low, both of which contributed to my feeling claustrophobic, but I like how each station is sectioned off. There are also couches where you can sit and watch your friend's experience on small TVs mounted next to their station. Minus how stressful immersive escape rooms can be, it was a fun and chill time. I'd love to come here with more people and make a party out of it... nerds unite!

Both of us had done VR before, but here you are given a room and can pick from many different games and experiences. It was a ton of fun, and not that expensive. We really enjoyed Job Simulator and Beat Saber. Check this place out!

Overall: Fun and unique activity. Would not recommend for large groups of adults - see details…read morebelow. Games chosen for three people: Alien and Ghostbusters. Personally enjoyed the Alien one more as I felt the Ghostbusters one was repetitive in some parts. Experience: Instructions are clear. Good pacing and very engaging. Space: Space is good for two. Was running into each other with three people. I feel like it would be too crowded with 4+ people on certain game activities. It kinda got stuffy in the room after 30 minutes, so it would be nice if there were bigger fans on the ceiling, ventilating the air more. Drinks: Pricey. Basic alcoholic and non alcoholic option. Nothing super exciting. There's a drink holder shelf in the game rooms. Extra note: Cancellation policy is very stringent. We added two friends to our reservation on the day of the reservation and a few hours later, they couldn't make it due to a sudden medical reason. Even though these changes all happened on the day of, they would not make any exception. Only offered the option of rescheduling them in the future by emailing the manager. Keep that in mind when you make a reservation.

The room walks you through all the steps and you put on your hat, which is what controls you through the game. We played for about an hour and it was plenty of time. One of our games required a bunch of squats so I was definitely sore the next day. There are drinks for sale however it's also in a plaza with a bunch of restaurants if you wanted to catch up after. Pricewise I thought it was a little expensive, but it was worth it. Also, I definitely recommend keeping the rooms to max four people.
