Thank goodness for Yelp!! I looked on Yelp and called a few places to get quotes and David was the most straightforward at giving me an over the phone quote. His prices seemed reasonable and I liked that he had wifi so I could study while I waited. I had a lot of studying to do but really wanted to get my new car tinted so I made sure to ask him on the phone if there was a waiting area with wifi before I decided to go. When I showed up, his wifi wasn't working and David went out of his way to call his internet provider to get it to work. I appreciate that he did that instead of just telling me "I'm sorry, it's not working". It would've been a huge inconvenience to me if the wifi wasn't working so 5 stars for excellent customer service!!! When I arrived, they helped me pick out the right shade and I gave them my keys. Two hours later it was done. Literally... the most hassle free transaction ever. Honest guys who do great work. I loved how they didn't try to upsell you and try to persuade you to a more expensive film. I called up 3-4 of the "big names" in OC, as well as a couple of small one-man shops with high reviews on Yelp, and they all quoted 2-3 times the price I paid at Tint Zone. David is very straight forward, and like others have mentioned, he doesn't upsell like the other shops. Also worth mentioning, Tint Zone is one of the authorized dealers for 3M Crystalline film. Once I picked up my first car I immediately made an appointment to bring in my other car the same week. If I could give 0 stars I would. I called in the middle of May to schedule an appointment to have my windows tinted, they were super backed up and I wasn't able to make my appointment until June 4th. If I could go back in time, I wouldn't have waited and would've scheduled somewhere else knowing the crappy tint job I was going to receive. During my appointment they took extra time because they apparently had to redo an entire window. After the job was done, I got home and noticed small bubbles on 2 windows. I waited about a week, called back and was told that their warranty policy to do anything about this was 2 weeks. I was not told this during the appointment and decided to wait the full 2 weeks. I called back and mentioned that the bubbles are still there and was asked if they are small to which I said yes. Then, I was told "that's actually considered a really good tint job." I then said, "I still prefer the tints with no bubbles" and then was told "well I can replace them but you can't go anywhere else and have it be perfect." All to say, this response is absolutely ridiculous and if I had the time, energy and patience, I would go back and demand a refund. However, I'd rather spend extra money and go somewhere else than deal with this business. Please be don't be fooled by the 5 stars because if you read how they respond to unhappy customers, it's disrespectful and nobody should support this business. I had a great experience getting my car's windows tinted at Tint Zone. David was helpful and took the time to look at my car the day before I left my car with him so we both had an understanding on what was to be done to the car (windows were previously tinted and still had a few spots left, which wasn't a big deal and a slight extra charge to clean it up). Due to my car having a black leather interior (read: HOT), I decided on getting Llumar CTX ceramic tint applied to my windows to help keep the heat down as well as preserve the interior. They also have 3M and Huper Optik film. Overall, I was very happy with the tint job. My car came back looking great and it is more comfortable now. The film was applied expertly with very little gap between the edge of the glass and the tint film. I would definitely go back to Tint Zone again. read more

Do not get your windows tinted here. Poor service and even worse customer service. Got my 2 front windows tinted from these guys and they both had flaws (air bubble and some foreign substance between film and glass). I took it back to be removed and requested a refund as I was dissatisfied with the quality of service that was performed. I spoke with the owner of the shop and he offered to redo it for me, but he was not too happy about it. He questioned why I was even trying to get it taken off and thought I wanted it removed because I had received a ticket. He acknowledged that there were flaws. He stated that the flaws as "minor" and blamed the delinquencies on the film they used. I guess a minor flaw is acceptable for their low quality of services performed. The gentleman I spoke to initially showed up from his lunch break with tears in his eyes accusing me of "putting words into his mouth" when he initially stated to me that if there are any air bubbles to bring it back and he will either redo services or refund me. They had the garage door closed as well and locked me in a closed environment and the guy fronted on me as if he was going to fight me or something. The owner had to even tell his employee to "calm down". The owner then stated that he was not going to refund me because he "didn't like my attitude" and stated that they don't do refunds, even though the receipt and contractual agreement I signed never stated that their services are non-refundable. The only option he gave me was to either have them redo the tint job or for me to leave. I found it very unprofessional for a business to give their customers an ultimatum when their services were not up to the customers expectations and clearly flawed. They both made such a big fuss over $130 and they ruined their reputation when they could have just refunded me, as they should have with the acknowledgment of the "minor" flaws. At the end of it, the kid in the front told me to get out and I called my bank and backcharged the charge and got my money back in the end anyways. Stay away from these guys. Regards, read more

Called this morning for a quote. Got a fair price over the phone and they were available for tinting my windows on my C300 right at the moment. Office looks professional, samples on the wall. We have decided on 3M tint. Myself working in the vinyl wrap industry asked the gentlemen if he is 3M Certified and he answered he just got certified. Signed the paperwork (never received a copy!) and I have parked my car in the garage located in the back of the building. He offered a different shade vinyl to match my rear windows better and showed samples. We decided on it and he started installing without protecting my leather interior. I have asked for protection because I know from my experience that soapy water leaves marks on the leather. He told me that he is in the business for 20 years and he know what he does. I have asked him not to spray all over my car interior repeatedly. Not only he sprayed all over, but he also started hand-cutting the tint film both from inside and outside meanwhile spraying all over from the exterior with the windows partially rolled down and from the interior aswell, again. Meanwhile he was working on my car, he was answering phone calls from other customers not paying attention at all to my car. As a result I have two cuts on my interior panel leather. When I noticed it and I let him know that I am not okay with it I was asked to leave "You are accusing me of damaging your car that is pre-owned" and he called me "dude" repeatedly. I have asked him to pay for the damage and I was asked again to leave. I have found blade pieces all over around my seat. David here in Irvine is great, did a great job, offered affordable pricing, and great service. I took my 2015 WRX here after doing some research on GroupOn and Yelp, finding that Tint Zone offered the best deal without any coupons or GroupOn deals or anything. Also, it's relatively close to me which was another plus. I got my tint done on a Saturday morning, all four cabin, rear windscreen, and four pocket windows. The process took about 2-2.5 hours, and I was invited to watch Netflix while I waited. Unfortunately, during the process, my battery died, but David was able to jump the battery with a small jumper/boost pack and get the engine and alternator going so he could finish the work. I was immediately thrilled as I've never had a vehicle with tinted windows before - and it made my car look and feel amazing. However, after waiting the several days to let the tint set, I noticed the passenger rear had a bubble and needed to be re-done. This wasn't a problem, as I called David and he had me in the next day or two. So I took my car in, unfortunately with my baby this time, and David got to work. Then the battery died again as he finished. He let me know as he tried the boost pack again, and was about to even call AAA for me, until I informed him I had cables. We stuck the baby in the car seat, rolled my car out of the garage and he pulled his own vehicle around to give me a jump. Talk about superior service! I tried to give these guys some extra business because I own about 1 cars needing tint, and about 50 of my friends just bought new cars and need tint. I gave Kevin in the Rowland Heights shop a new BMW and got a good price and the job was to my expectations. So when a family member in Irvine needed his new 2017 Mercedes AMG GT tinted I pointed him toward David at their Irvine location. Here is a brief list of the many many things that went wrong: 1) We called David and asked for a price on the phone. Knowing the exact car, he quoted a price and we set an appointment for 11am today. As soon as we got there, David starts complaining about the price (which he quoted!) and repeated to me all day that he didn't charge enough. How is that my fault or even my concern? Why is a business owner complaining to his customer about his own quote being too low? We conclude he doesn't know how to quote work knowing the exact car! 2) David was in a hurry and draped the heat gun cord RIGHT ACROSS MY CAR BODY! Everyone knows that will scratch the paint! 3) David kept looking at the clock the entire time and acting like he was late for his next appointment. We conclude he doesn't know how to plan his time. 4) David trimmed the tint on the back window crooked at two areas of one corner. The other corner was lined up correctly. If he can do it right on one side, why can't he do it right on the other side? We conclude David is either an amateur or was in a big hurry. When we pointed this out he BLAMED US FOR WATCHING HIM WORK!! Why would any professional business owner not allow customers to watch, and THEN BLAME THE POOR WORK ON THE CUSTOMER FOR WATCHING?! 5) We explained we watched closely because we were using David for the first time, and as we get to know him we won't need to watch him. David insisted he messed up the trim because "we hovered over him". 6) When we explained we expect the trim cuts to be straight David said "as long as no light gets through that is all they care about". So let's see, if the top of the door window is jagged and rough, that is not cause for complaint? 7) when we asked him to redo the back window, David laughed arrogantly and said he "has applied tint to plenty of $200,000 cars" and implied the 2017 Mercedes AMG GT was insignificant and undeserving of neatly cut tint! So David is making excuses for his poor workmanship and insulting customers now! 8) David kept arguing and began to use PROFANITY TO A PAYING CUSTOMER accusing us of being a "type of customer who promises to refer many customers but instead just complains"!! What kind of logic is that? That's how you kill your business, by insulting the customers and stereotyping them in their FIRST VISIT. David seems to have forgotten we are his second paying customer this month, and never complained a single word about the first tint job. We conclude David is as stupid as he is lousy at customer service and at trimming tint around curved windows. We won't be back to TINT ZONE VON KARMAN. And we won't be referring others. However, to prove David was wrong about stereotyping us, we will have the people who we would have refered post on Yelp that they were going to bring work to David but thanks to us they won't be! David, you are arrogant, inexperienced at work estimates, perform poor work because you can't plan your work schedules correctly, and you insult the customers AS MUCH AS YOU CAN COME UP WITH EXCUSES and complain about YOUR OWN quotes, constantly! Tint zone did a great job on my 2017 RAV4 SE. I ever had the tinting service from other store for my old corolla S. Tint zone is much better than that one. First, there is no obvious bubbles on the windows at the beginning. Second, Tint zone cleaned the windows/windshield after I pickup the car. As most know, 3M is a dominant and superior brand in the tint world. I used them back in the day when I tinted, and was always impressed with the quality and warranty offered. Note; I contacted them on Monday, and was able to drop my car off first thing the following day.
