I had just purchased a car and wanted to get the windows tinted. I brought it  to TintMax and they informed me that the car had previously been tinted and it had a lot of glue left on the windows. I was upset at hearing this news because i know once a car has previously had tints to have them redone cost an "arm and leg".  They gave me a very good price despite the car having previously haf tints. Now im very  excited and happy with my tints!! I was very happy how quickly they were able to get me in and out (despite them being super busy)!  They got me in last minute and were able to give me a day and time that worked with my schedule. The staff was super friendly and helpfully and their waiting area was extremely comfortable. I am definitely coming back to have another car done! read more

Nice small spot. Read a lot of mixed reviews. Some were based off just the experience and not the actual work. Some were about the actual work they got done. This is by far not the first time i have had my cars tinted. Majority of the time i have spent around 180 plus another 40 for the eyebrow. This place i found on groupon and they had a coupon for 90 for 4 windows and the back windshield. Only in maryland have i run across someone giving you a price for an all around tint but that price not including the little side window in the back. Anyway, before i purchase a groupon For a service I always call the business to find out details about the offer and to make sure they will actually honor it. So when i called this business, I found out that the groupon was for 90 for the 4 side windows and back windshield. To get the 2 small windows in the back it was an additional 10 or 20 each. Also the groupon there was only good for 35% (other groupons were only good for 50% and 70%). So the rep tells me to get darker it would be another 40 for a darker tint. So now the 90 groupon is close to 180. Then she offers me the in house special of 125 for all the windows and i could get it as dark as i want. I agreed to that and sched an appt for 4 days later. She gave me the address it was sched. The day of, i got there on time for my appt. its a small sterio installation place and I'm assuming they rent a bay tinting. When i got there, there was a loud lady at the counter who was a bit unprofessional (as read in previous yelps) but she worked at the cat stereo portion. Then a lady came out and asked if I needed help. She was soft spoken and i knew she was whom i sched my appt with over the phone. She had me fill on the form for the tint ( which tint, what %, make and model of car) and then rang me up. If you pay cash, then you don't have to pay tax. They have a waiting room, with a few seats and tv. The chairs are a little worn but still comfortable. There was one guy waiting for his car tint to be done and then me. Literally my car was done in 45 minutes. He did a good job. I opted for the 20% and ye came out good. My only gripe was that he left water in the door handles, which a napkin took care of. Overall i had a great easy and non expensive experience. All in all, call before buying groupons. For me it worked out better than using groupon read more

I never received tint before and purchased a Groupon for these services. There was an extra fee I was not aware of, which the Groupon does not cover. The owner waived this fee which allowed this service to become much brighter. The overall time took about 1.5 hours. I am unsure how long it should take because this is my first time. I was given instructions about the care after receiving the tint. Unfortunately it is cold and snowy here so it may take some to see how the tint has turned out. They offer a lifetime warranty of some sort which should be comforting to those who choose their service. read more

DO NOT VISIT THIS STORE. Tintmax has the worst customer service ever. I tried for two straight weeks to get a hold of them, i was unable to and had to physically visit store to make an appt. I got there and the next available was a month away! Furthermore the lady at the front desk was very rude and unhelpful! The day of my appt came and I waited for four hours before they took my car to the back. In addition I waited for another 45 minutes for them to get the tints done. September 6, 2014 I visited TintMax in Catonsville to have my 2013 Mini Cooper Countryman tinted. I arrived at 10:20am. Almost 5 hours later, at 3:10pm I was informed that my car was finished. As soon as I got in my vehicle to leave I noticed there was now a crack in my front windshield. Without moving the vehicle from where the TintMax associate left it, I immediately went inside to notify the lady working at the TintMax desk. She came outside to look at my car, asked me if the window was broken before it was tinted (which makes NO sense), and then went to the work area of the shop to find the owner. She returned and informed me that he just left. Come to find out I watched him drive past me in the parking lot right before my car was returned to me. Yes, fishy to me too! She then calls Kendall on the phone to tell him the situation. Kendall, over the phone told me he personally tinted my vehicle. I then informed him that there wasn't a crack in my windshield when I brought my car to the shop to be tinted. My car is new. It still has temporary tags. I insisted that my windshield be replaced at the Mini Dealership since all the windows in the car have a Mini emblem on them. He finally agrees that he will personally take my vehicle to the Mini Dealership to have the window replaced, but since it's 3:20 on a Saturday that he doubts Mini's service department is open. I've been at TintMax over 5 hours, so satisfied that he will take care of the damage he caused to my vehicle. I go home. This is my 2nd Mini, so I know their Service Department is open until 4 on Saturdays. I called Mini, explained my situation and made an appointment to drop my car off Monday, September 8, 2014 at 7:30am. I then call TintMax back and informed the receptionist of what Mini of Baltimore County quoted me for a new windshield and I also informed her of my service appointment set for Monday the 8th. She informed me that Kendall still hadn't returned to the shop, but she would let him know as soon as he returned. That was Saturday at 4:30pm. I heard nothing from Kendall that night, nothing Sunday. I arrived at TintMax at 11:55 on Monday, September 8, 2014. Kendall was JUST getting around to calling me. I give him a copy of the invoice from Mini. He explains that he can get a better rate if HE called. I called Mini to let them know that they could discuss my car's issue with Kendall. I return to work. Kendall calls me about an hour later and informs me that he wants to run my windshield through his insurance. (The first time he mentioned this.) The issue is his insurance will not put a Mini factory windshield in my vehicle. I have an issue! Per Kendall's agreement, Mini of Baltimore would be installing my windshield. At this point, my car has been at Mini of Baltimore since 7:30am. My car is already broken down. Kendall informed me that it was unfair that I went ahead and had my car serviced without speaking to him first. Three days with a cracked windshield is unacceptable. Him not reaching out to me until noon the following Monday is unacceptable. Him attempting to get me to settle with an aftermarket windshield is UNACCEPTABLE. I had to pay for my window repair out of my own pocket. I wasn't attempting to gouge him for "pain and suffering", missed work, etc. I just wanted an even exchange on what was agreed upon during our phone conversation Saturday the 6th. He was understanding that I spent quite a long time waiting for my car to be tinted and he discounted the overall tint job $40 for my wait. But how he handled the repair of damage that he admitted he caused is bad business. I had to give this review one star. It wouldn't let me post it without assigning any stars at all. read more

In short, customer service sucked and final product looked good They were more than 90 minutes late getting started and didn't finish until 45 min after closing time. What was supposed to be a 2 hour job "maximum" turned out being almost 5 hours. The waiting, and whole facility, was super ghetto..which was the reason I waited at the Starbucks across the street. Every time I came back, and there were several because their time of completion estimations were grossly inaccurate, the woman treated me as if she had never seen me before. The day I set up my appointment and the day I called to see if I could schedule earlier time, it took 10+ calls to get through over the course of several hours. I needed tint on the front of my SUV to match the back and it looks great. Match is almost identical. They took me in the same day and are relatively cheap compared to others around with lifetime warranty on bubbling, cracks, color etc. The waiting lounge is pretty nice as well if you have to stick around. The location could be better...it's inside of Caton Radio and have to be called from the back. read more

Saw a Groupon for tint service and wanted to get it done for my 78 Vette. It ended up costing me an extra $100 due to the curve on the back window. They installed Llumar CTX tint in a very light, almost clear look. The folks there were very professional and experienced. They were able to answer my many questions and finished in a very timely manner. It looks great, and I'm very happy with both the product and service! read more

Really shocked at how horrible my experience here has been. Same story as the other negative reviews. My girlfriend and I had two appointments to get two cars tinted, the first at 11am and the second at 1pm. We dropped the first car off at 10:45 am and visited some stores in the area waiting for the first car to be finished. When we returned at 12:30, our car hadn't even moved from the spot we left it in. We walked and and were told that there was only one bay available for the day because of a remote starter deal they had that week. It took until after 3pm for the first car to be finished. I had them look at the second car to get an idea of how long that one would take because they needed to remove some leftover adhesive from old tint. The lady in charge of tinting, "Mystery" , looked at my car to inspect the adhesive and consulted with another gentleman on how long it would take. We were told to expect the car to be finished and ready to pick up around 6 or 6:30pm. Around 5pm I received another call that they "ran into an issue" with my car and because of the time needed to remove the adhesive they would not be able to complete it today and I would need to reschedule. When I went in to pick my un-tinted car up, again, it hadn't even left the spot I parked it in. Walk-in's should not have priority over people who have had an appointment made for over three weeks. A five hour excursion and all that wasted gas to get just the one car tinted is a joke. I won't be rescheduling the second car here, I'd sooner glue black plastic trashbags to my window and tint my own car. read more

VERY DECEPTIVE SELLING PRACTICES: please stop your deceptive selling practices. I purchased a group on for what seemed like a good deal, 90$. And when I call to schedule my appointment I'm told you tint 5 windows for that groupon price and that's normal for all sedan. But apparently there's and extra $25 dollars for the two small 3x5 pieces in between the window and door. Okay not bad yet, but then the groupon says "we abide by the laws andlegal limits of tinting" that's the most irritating part ! That's just a complete lie to charge you extra for darker tint and extra 25-50$ for choosing darker tint. I thought any level of tint was the same price and according to the groupon the max should be 35% in maryland but they go lower and it's only via an extra charge . For that price it's not even a groupon anymore.( 90+25+50) that's probably the normal charge for all the cars they do, and it's a shame to think that I was saving anything. I think they do good work. They will not honor Groupon in a timely manner. If you say you're paying with a Groupon, the earliest they'll schedule you is 2 months. Just heads up that if you want to have you car tinted in a timely manner, you should not use Groupon with them. If you're paying a discounted rate, they'll push you to the back of the (groupon) line. read more

I had my car tinted two weeks ago by Tintmax and it was great! They squeezed me in on a busy Saturday and completed job quickly and efficiently. I loved the results- no bubbles or issues at all. I have had cars tinted at several different places. But I keep going back to TintMax because their team is the best I have worked with. The reviews that talk about having to wait are crazy. These guys were PACKED when I went, but once my appointment time had arrived, they pulled my car in and the team attacked it and had it done within an hour, and that's how it has been all three times I have been there. Decided to get my 2014 chevy cruze tinted at tint max and was very drawn in by the lifetime warranty. After I received the tint I noticed dust particles inside the tint causing bubbles. I went back a week later they told me to wait atleast two to three weeks because it is cold and the tint needs to dry. After two weeks I have noticed small bubbles on EVERY WINDOW especially the back window. They said they would fix the problem but they did such a HORRIBLE JOB I asked them to take the tint off and give me a refund. They refused and said you have a warranty let us fix it. There was a mistake on every window and one of the employees said there is dust everywhere, you can't stop that from getting inside the tint. Their service is so bad I just wanted the tint of my car so they took the tint off and REFUSED TO GIVE ME A REFUND. I made the appointment to get my tint taken off at 3:30 and was short staffed so they said it would take a lot longer it took them until 6:00. And I had to clean some of the residue off the window myself. The waiting room is crap a bunch of old sofas with rips and the cushion coming out of it. I wasted my time and 135 dollars for a bad tint job. read more

I bought a groupon for TintMax in Catonsville and would never return. I purchased two groupons for window tinting. One for my son's truck and one for my car. When I brought my son's truck in his appointment was for 9 a.m. after waiting an hour I was notified that the window tinting people didn't actually get in until 10 a.m. So then after waiting another hour they let me know that there two people ahead of me and only one car bay to do the window tinting with an approx time of 45 mins for each car. an hour later, everyone in the waiting room was notified that the window tinting machine went down. Because of course there was only one. Long story short, my truck was not done until 1:45 p.m. (after my 9 a.m. appointment) with not so much as an apology or otherwise. When I dropped off my car, it was the same song and dance minus the tint machine breaking down. My appointment time was at 3 pm. At almost 5 p.m. they let me know there were still two cars ahead of me. I asked if I could leave my car there and pick it up in the morning because I had a sport engagement to be at for one of my kids. They said that was fine and to be there at 9. I was there at 9:30 the next morning and no one was there to open the shop yet. there must have been at least five or six people waiting in the cars in the parking lot including a few people that worked there that couldn't get in as well. By about 10 they opened up. I asked for my car and my keys (already a little discouraged with this place) they came back and told me they couldn't find my keys. After a few more minutes of scurrying about they said that my car was locked in the bay and that the window tinting people weren't in yet to unlock it. I wrote my number down on a piece of paper and told them to call me immediately when my car was done. they called about and hour and a half later and said my car was ready to be picked up. I came down there, got my car and vowed to never to business with them again. Highly unprofessional, non-chalant about their business practices. Overall I was pissed that a potential window tint ending up taking this long and not with one but two of our cars. Would NEVER do business with them again. EVER And one star is too much credit to give them. read more

When inquiring as to why the delay, he becomes defensive and rude and tells me to take my vehicle somewhere else from now on. He approached me from the moment I walked in with a defensive attitude. Really a poor tint job on my Subaru. They got me in same day, took roughly an hour but a lot of bubbles and it looks really poor. This was the worst experience I have ever had. Like others have mentioned. I had a mid-day appointment on a weekday, taking time off from work because I thought it would be faster having a appointment during the week (45 min- 1 hr. I was quoted). It took them 3 hrs to tint my windows on my sedan while I waited with a 3 months old baby. Then had to go back to get them redone a week later because of hair and other things in the tint I was old it would take a few hours to correct so I left the car at the shop with plan to call back and check the status a few hours later. I dropped my car off at 11 am and did not get it back 1 min before close of business. They must have done my car last. Two weeks later had to go back again because there are more spicks in the tint and this time creases. This time we asked for our money back. After fighting with the "manager", because he said our car had felt weather striping and it was shedding, he finally agreed to give us our money back but would have to remove the tint. This process would take 2 hrs but could not do it the same day because they would already booked. So now we have to take it back a 4th time for them to remove it. We should have had priority because we had already spent the money and a considerable amount of time for crappy service. I will never go there again and would tell people to avoid it at all cost. It is the worst customer service I have ever seen. Also you should be aware that the groupon deal does not cover all your cars windows, for example if you have side cute out windows. They will finds a way to upcharge you. read more

The only reason they are even getting one star is because I can't give them less than that. To begin with they said they could start tinting at 11 and didn't pull my truck in until 12. Then they ran out of the % I wanted so instead of asking me what I wanted done they just put a noticeably lighter tint on the back window and didn't tell me and expected me to not notice. There were also some holes around the edges of the window. I saw a difference immediately in the darkness and I took it to tint inc in glen burnie and they told me that it was way lighter and I had them replace the tint instead because they are cheaper, have better customer service, and do a much better job. Finally if you do decide to make the dumb decision of getting your car or truck tinted here, make sure you don't have any valuables in your car or they will go missing. read more

This place's customer service is terrible. I've called them for 3 days straight, at 3 different times all within their hours of operation... simply to find out information and to ask a question about their window tinting services. No one EVER answered the phone (at either location) ... left a message.. NO call back. Not to mention they currently have a really nice Groupon deal going... which is how I found out about this place. But, now I'm about to take my money else where to purchase tints for my boyfriend's brand new Dodge Challenger. At this rate I have zero problem paying full price and visiting an establishment with better customer service, that allows all of my questions and concerns to be answered in a timely manner and to make an appointment. There shouldn't be a phone number if no one is available to answer it. So... future consumers of window tints... stay away and if you have any questions... don't bother calling, cause they won't pick up. read more
