I really wanted to be in love with this place, because who doesn't love a good taco? Unfortunately, everything was just shy of being right for me personally. While the products seemed good, I just wasn't a fan of the flavor profiles here. Everything seemed too sweet, too liquidy (which didn't help with the soft tacos having only one tortilla), and just too complicated. Like the flavors were too muddled together for me to really taste any of the things I look for in a taco. I'm all for creativity but I felt like it compromised having a well rounded dish. Staff was friendly and the place was very clean. Well, that is until our food came and taco juices were all over the table! Late night hours are awesome. I had the opportunity to try as a food truck. I was not starving but wanted to get something small. So I got the cheesy corn. It was $5.xx after tax. $5 on the menu. The menu that I saw online said $4.50. I literally received a 6-8 ounce portion cup with cheesy corn in it. It was like soup consistency too. It was good but for that much money, I expected more. The pictures that are posted appear to be larger portions so I am disappointed that this is what I was given as a food truck option. I have never been to the brick & mortar store but have no desire too. A friend of mine got chips n queso & a bowl of something. She said it was $18! For that much, I can go get a steak dinner at a sit down restaurant. I understand that everything is expensive and the prices of everything has gone up but when the other truck option was a bbq truck and I could have got two side items for $6 and both sides were portioned in a 12 ounce container, I will not be back. read more

Best chips & queso in town! The seasoning on these chips is the bees knees! I dream about this combination and it is worth testing the cheesy goodness. Always several tacos to try or even create your own. My two kids can be picky and the cook will make them things not on the menu (like a quick cheese quesadilla). I visited Tinga Tacos shortly after they opened, and I was in love! My husband and I traveled 4 hours back home to STL and were still talking about the tacos on the way home! We Loved them! Every trip we make to Spfld we will make sure we go to Tinga Tacos! The flavor was outstanding. The pairings of each taco we had was something I would have never personally put on my taco but I ended up loving it! We love Mexican food and love our tacos and this wasn't your ordinary taco, it was explosion after explosion of flavor bursting in my mouth! I was super impressed!! The place was clean and the staff was helpful and friendly! One of the owners is a manager there; Jessica, she was so kind and helpful and passionate about the awesome tacos! She had great recommendations and we were pleased with every one! Every time we go back we hope she is there to help make our experience! One star not for the food--we didn't have any--but for an opportunity missed. We walked in at 2:03, glanced at the lunch special sign, which was still up, and then at the wall to make our selections. The young lady at the corner then snatched the sign away, saying "Sorry, it's after 2." Totally their prerogative to do that, it was 2:03 and the specials ended at 2. BUT it was a moment she could have used to be light-hearted and fun, offer the special to us as late-comers, and sell some tacos. No one was behind us. Tacos were good but the owner is not a nice person at all. They cater to the bar crowds so you're going to get drink people in there. This guy treated my friend like a criminal who broke into his office. 1) she was very drunk 2) his office was not locked at all otherwise she wouldn't have been able to wander in there 3) his words were to me, "I won't press charges against her". We were in town for a short time and this restaurant was suggested to us for Mexican food. The staff was very helpful and courteous and the food was super fresh. Their lime crema sauce was so refreshing and their chips and shells are all made onsite. Unique seasonings and fruit pico made for a delicious meal. Small seating area, but the do takeout!
