**First I should preface by saying that I had been waiting for almost a year to try this place, so my expectation was pretty high. We opted to dine indoors because it was a bit cool in the morning, but they kept the door open to the outdoor seating, so it was just as cold indoors. We were freezing. Service was a bit slow, many waitresses walked by me before one person asked if we'd like to be seated. Once seated, she left without saying a word, didn't leave us a menu. She came back, dropped off the menu, and didn't come back for a while. We finally got to order, we ordered the Belgium waffle with +$6 for strawberries and whip cream we saw on Google (picture to show Instagram vs reality), veggie omelette, kids French toast, and pancake stack. Food: my omelette was tasty, I requested to add ham to my veggie omelette and it didn't come with ham. How disappointing. The pancakes were delicious, fluffy, and HUGE. The Belgium waffle with strawberries and whip cream was disappointing to say the least. My daughter saw the Google picture of it and wanted that. She asked why there weren't as many strawberries. Personally not worth the $6 up charge for total of maybe 3 strawberry and canned whip cream. Will we be back? Maybe. Probably. There aren't many breakfast options out here in north country. I would like to try their dinner. And while we talked to a waitress, she said they're trying to stay open longer this fall/winter season, so that will be nice. read more

Visited Sackets Harbor NY and oh my, my family and I were blown away by this place. Came for breakfast on Friday morning and then came back Sunday morning because it was so good. A small place with a great ascetic on the inside. Service was excellent, our first server Kevin recognized us when we came back on Sunday and talked to us like we were friends. The place feels very welcoming. The lobster eggs Benedict (which was a special) is probably one of the best breakfast meals I've ever had. But that wasn't all I tried. Amongst the family we tried each others dishes. Their stuffed French toast was Amazing! Their sausage gravy tasted like no other! It's definitely a must hit spot if in your in the area. Such a hidden gem! One of my favorite places to go in Sackets Harbor. I have heard so many great things about this place so when my sister was in town we decided to go. We decided to come for breakfast on Sunday. They open pretty early around 8am. We came around 10am and the early breakfast rush had slow down. They were quite busy but we got seated right away. It's a cute spot and they have a good amount of seating for customers to dine in. I believe they have a outside seating area as well. The service was great, our server was very attentive and our food came out pretty fast. I got the TPG French toast, it comes with 3 slices of toast with powered sugar and butter. I got scrambled eggs on the side. My sister got the southern eggs benedict which comes with Slow roasted pulled pork that was served on housemade biscuits, topped with poached eggs, and my sister got sides of potatoes. WOW, the portion were big and the food was delicious. The French toast was perfect it wasn't over dipped, and the texture was amazing. Great flavors. I am not a big fan of eggs benedict but wow, the combination of the egg biscuit, pork was a perfect combination. I couldn't stop eating. Went for a Saturday breakfast, there was only outdoor seating. No one was sat inside. They asked if sitting in the sun was okay, we said sure. We were next to a bunch of flowers, there were bees. We ordered our food. It wasn't that busy. We were sitting there in the sun for an hour, still waiting for our food. I said something about it and she said sorry the kitchen was backed up. Again the place wasn't busy. She asked if she could bring us any condiments for the food we didn't have yet. The pancakes were still raw in the center. The hash browns were cold. My wife and son visited about a year ago, and raved about the place, so when we were back in town, it was easy to convince me to come along. Service was friendly and attentive; the place being mostly empty (on a Friday in mid-April) helping I'm sure. I had the creme brulee french toast, and it was exquisite; the challah bread was flavorful and moist but didn't fall apart on me. A huge plate, and I couldn't not eat them all. The home fries I ordered on the side were well-crisped, but not very flavorful. The hot chai latte was amazing. Everyone else's food and drink were similarly delightful. The only hiccup was the WiFi. The restaurant has implemented some sort of elaborate one-off voucher for guests that ask about the password, good for two hours. Which would have been clumsy enough, but we got one for the table and it turned out it was good for only one person (based on our trying it out). We didn't push the staff to figure it out for us (it really wasn't a critical thing for us), but it felt unnecessarily complicated and non-service-oriented. But aside from that, it was all good. So, yeah, we'll be back, though I understand the place can get pretty crowded during tourist season. It will be worth a bit of wait to get in. read more

10 years ago I had the Tin Pan Galley breakfast chimichanga and it was one of my top 5 most delicious breakfasts of all time. Finding myself in the area again I decided to go. It wasn't quite as flaky and crispy and my first one but it was still pretty good. The adorable patio area makes everything a little more delightful though. They had a pancake special that morning, orange creamsicle, but we had already each decided on a different order. We noticed on the menu that we could order a singular pancake for a lesser charge, so we asked if we could do that with the creamsicle pancake too, and share it. The answer was yes, and we were so glad it was, because that pancake was so tasty! It came with a thick maple orange sauce that was everything. My wife and I for several years would always have breakfast at Tin Pan. The atmosphere, food, and service was always great. Then in 2024 we stopped in for breakfast. To our suprise the servers were all new. We ordered SFT and a belgian waffle. Both were very disappointing in flavor. It took over an hour from when we ordered until the food arrived at our table. We ordered coffee and had to beg for a refill. All in all it appeared things changed. Have not been back since. read more

Partner and I stopped by this restaurant for dinner in Sacketts Harbor during Labor Day weekend (Sunday) and were pleasantly surprised.  Didn't realize they had live music...Andy Taylor, the master musician, was playing pop songs from the 50's to current day. We started off with a caesar salad and a mushroom arancini special, which were great 1st courses.  Then we shared the lobster mac and cheese (which was delicious and loaded with lobster) and the sea scallops (which were very good and came atop a lobster sweet potato cake that was very tasty).  The portions are on the above average size for some dishes, so you're getting great value in some of the dishes.  Add in the live music and you will get your money's worth! read more

We have been coming to Tin Pan Gallery every summer for the past 5 years. It has always been a highlight of the trip--the lobster roll is fantastic and the outside seating is gorgeous! Unfortunately, at our last visit 8.5.23, it was a complete and utter let down. The service was terrible. No one wanted to help and we kept asking for help but would just be bounced to someone else. For context, we waited over an hour before someone would take our order despite tables around us having a server. I think with stronger management and a cultural shift of focusing on service, things could turn around. I have 10+ years experience in the service industry working as a server, bartender, Asst. Manager, and as head trainer responsible for training new staff and opening new restaurants so I know how difficult it can be when there's no support from management (and Saturday brunch is always bananas). Some quick wins include: -Pre-batch mimosas to save time - Set up garnish tray so servers dress their drinks (orange slices on mimosas, olives for martinis, etc.) -food runners pre-bus -water and coffee runners (maybe even self serve coffee and water stations) -no bar seating until after 11am (seemed to be manageable at this time) It is such a shame because the food is still absolutely delicious. In the end, the lobster roll was worth the wait; but hopefully next time, that wait is 25 minutes not 90. Also, I would be remiss to not mention Ariana, who should be promoted to management. We were visiting thousand islands area and were looking for a place for Sunday brunch Memorial Day weekend . Tin Pan Galley was highly recommended by a waitress at a restaurant we had dinner the previous night. They don't take reservations. We went there and gave our names n got on the waiting list. They said 30-45 mins but we got called w/in 15 mins. Nice quaint place. Were seated upstairs. Friendly staff. The food was good . Beautiful spot! Adorable when you can sit outside. The wait can get long for brunch since they don't take reservations, but when I went around 9:30, we were seated immediately. Food was decent. Some slight inconsistencies between food descriptions and the food we got, but nothing major. I think their sweeter breakfast meals are a little better done than their savory. As always I got the stuffed French toast and this time split it with my brother for half his huevos rancheros. Last week I would have recommended that you definitely eat at this establishment. After or Dinner tonight I wouldn't recommend it. We ate lobster mac and cheese was Excellent last Friday today Saturday the following week at it agian and it was TERRIBLE half the portion of last week over cooked way less cheese and shell in the lobster yet 4 pcs no one. Talked to the waitress who spoke with the Owner who finally came out and proceeded to say they changed the plating but the portion was the same. I wish I could post a picture the portion was at the least half of last week and as far as not cooked the same he made no attempt to correct anything after spending over $500.00 the last 2 visits I will take our business elsewhere. We chose to eat outdoors on a lovely Sunday morning around 10:30 and only had a 10 minute wait. They text you when your table is ready. We were greeted by our server and promptly got our beverages. We then ordered and sat back to enjoy the ambiance. We waited happily at first, but became less so as it took over an hour to get our food. Our server updated us often that our food would "be right out" , but that didn't happen. We had to ask for coffee refills. That being said, the food was excellent with both Eggs Benedict dishes cooked to perfection. One prepared "over hard" and the other in traditional manner. I just wished we could have spent some of our time waiting walking around town. I suggest that you don't seat people if you can't serve them in a reasonable time, or at least tell them upfront please. read more

Where do I start??!!? I am enamored by this restaurant, it is my favorite one in Sackets Harbor. It was rated one of New York's ten most beautiful restaurants, and it surely deserves it! Such a romantic atmosphere, and lovely garden patio in which to eat your meal in the summer. There is sometimes live music at night, which is a huge plus. They serve a delicious brunch on Sundays, and the lunch and dinner are all wonderful as well. All four of our entrees were awful. My lamb was over cooked and potatoes under cooked and not done. My girlfriends steak on her salad was also way over cooked and a good portion of her greens were rotten and should have never been plated. Caesar salad for one of the kids came out ten minutes after the rest of our entrees, and the chicken on it wasn't edible. The veggie pasta was bland, had no sauce or anything just noodles and veggies. Over all very disappointed in the entrees. We also waited for over an hour between appetizers and entrees and were told on 4 different occasions our meals would be right out. It's too bad, it's a super cute venue and has a good history but they are under new ownership and I don't think anyone knows how to run a restaurant there. They weren't even busy on this night. Absolutely amazing brunch, with top-notch service and beautiful ambiance! Our server was a young man who was so courteous and attentive that he even moved a giant additional umbrella over to our table as he noticed the one we were sitting at wasn't providing enough shade. We normally sit indoors, but the outdoor garden and seating area was too cute to resist. We had perfectly tasty eggs Benedict, an amazing croissant breakfast sandwich (with double sausage patties--a nice touch) and their crème brûlée French toast. Everything was absolutely delicious. And the house Brewed coffee was nice and strong--it tasted like it was made in a French press. Service was fast and the atmosphere with the outdoor music playing on the speakers was perfect for a summer day in a quaint upstate NY town. This restaurant never disappoints! Have eaten here twice in the past week since they have re-opened for the 2019 season. Came the second day they were open for more of their brunch/breakfast menu and the hubs and I split the special cinnamon buns and the breakfast avocado BLT. Both were excellent and service was on point for even being busy! I then came yesterday with some girlfriends and had a more lunch meal (but you can get breakfast food all day now till 3!) I had their cup of soup (soup of the day was spicy corn and clam chowder) and grilled cheese. Both were excellent! Wonderful service as well, and I think it shows that the same servers return year after year! Great service and great food as always at Tin Pan! Another great brunch at Tin Pan Galley! My favorite aspect of this restaurant was the large, beautiful outdoor dining space! The weather was perfect, too, on the glorious afternoon! My order of Pineapple Chicken Salad ($15.95) was plated beautifully! The half pineapple, with heaping chicken salad, was impressive! The mother nature given pineapple was perfectly ripe and delicious and was actually my favorite thing on my plate. The pineapple was scored so it was easy to eat. I liked the simplicity of the chicken salad with just a bit of celery, but it was a bit bland and had too much mayonnaise. A friend ordered the Shrimp Quesadilla ($14). The menu describes the shrimp as "crisp", however, the shrimp was not fried - nor was it crisp (thankfully!). She shared a bite with me and I found it to be on the sweet side due to the pineapple salsa. Another friend ordered the Fried Green Tomato Salad. It was graciously sized, with a beautiful variety of lettuce greens. It looked delicious! All of our orders were plentiful on the portion size! Service was great, and our server attentive. This was an interesting experience to say the least. We went for brunch around 1pm, it was myself my wife and our 2 kids. There wasn't much of a wait at all getting in to be seated but the place was packed full. Our table was right in front of where all the servers walk in and out which was probably the worst seat in the place. Every other table seems to have its own seclusion but this one was just right in the middle of all the action which made it extremely difficult to have a personal conversation let alone enjoy ourselves. We were forced into all the conversations the wait staff was having, all the updates on orders, and even some servers training others very close to our proximity. In my opinion they should eliminate that table all together because it did not give us the opportunity to enjoy ourselves like it seemed most other people were. Our server was great once she came but we waited a good 15 minutes before we figured out who she was. They have drink servers who bring water milk or juice quickly but the drink orders took some time. We ordered our food as soon as we saw our server and watched 3 or 4 tables who ordered after us get food before us while we were waiting which seemed like forever. That being said we work in the industry and understand some things take longer than others so you can't get upset about that. Again that seat right by the main entrance had us drooling every time they walked by. Time and time again it was not our food which we got around 2pm. The food was unfortunately lacking. My son got a breakfast sandwich on a bagel because they were out of the croissants they normally come on. Made an expensive sandwich seem extremely low quality. We saw others getting it on on white toast, Also looked lacking. I ordered the sausage and biscuits with eggs and home fries and asked for crispy home fries. My whole meal was cold and gross and my home fries were barely cooked. After waiting an hour, to be let down like that was a huge bummer. My wife enjoyed her breakfast special but also asked for crispy home fries and got semi warm soft potatoes instead. We also ordered a lobster roll because we visit Maine regularly and if we see them on the menu we order one every time. It was glorified seafood salad on a roll. It was not a lobster roll. We didn't even touch it and it became the running joke of the table because the kids thought it was hilarious looking. The best thing we got from here was my daughters silver dollar pancakes off the kids menu. We all tried a bite and realized we should've went with pancakes or French toast instead of what we ordered. Seems like those two dishes were the best looking ones coming out of the kitchen. Then it started to sprinkle. Of course this is outdoor seating, we all still had food left and we're watching people get taken one by one inside. Now remember we are right by the entrance. We have servers getting other tables further out then us and relocating them and they are walking passed our table while ignoring us. We decided to just ask for boxes and take it to go since it was raining. That was pretty ridiculous. So all in all, 175$ brunch that wasn't so great. We were devastated that it was closing and were ecstatic that it was purchased and would be open under new ownership. Today was my first trip back to Tin Pan Galley since moving out of the Watertown area 6+ years ago and I was a little underwhelmed. The food tasted just as I remembered it, which is why it got three stars, but the service and atmosphere has lots to be desired. 1) BEES. holy. sh*t. so many bees. breakfast/brunch is their forte and for those service hours, only the patio seating area is open. the bees have never been that... abundant and annoying. I was so distracted swatting bees away from my face and food that I couldn't enjoy my meal to the fullest. 2) I got handed a coffee mug with red lipstick still on it (see below). ew. 3) the food, albeit delicious and nice to look at, was lukewarm and came out in shifts! my hash (pictured below) was supposed to have wheat toast and it came out 15+ minutes after my meal was served. TOAST. Needless to say, while I enjoyed myself for the taste of the food and the nostalgia factor, I likely won't be back for a while, until the pests are under control, cleaning is thorough, and the service is a little more organized. read more

The restaurant management has changed and they no longer except previously issued gift cards. The gift card given to us not long ago has the same name on it as their front door but we were told " we no longer accept these gift cards". I had a full stack of pancakes, each one was bigger than my face. Lol. I love pancakes so was really excited to see these. Unfortunately, the dough was over worked and a bit old. They were also cooked too long so came out more like a bread than the springy tangy taste I associate with fresh batter pancakes. I also had sausage gravy and biscuits with potatoes, same issues with freshness BUT delicious. A little too salty for me YMMV. I had a really bad experience today while dining here. But we have had truly wonderful and memorable food experiences here in the past. Seems like the management and food has changed significantly. We waited for our food (with a toddler) for over 1.5 hours. My plate arrived with a 3 inch dark hair on top of my home fries. The waitress saw it and said that she would get me a new order of home fries immediately. Not a whole new plate of food. My husband and daughter's breakfast sandwiches were greasy. A croissant breakfast sandwich doesn't need to have more oil added to it to grill it. They ran out of blueberries for my daughter's blueberry pancake. So it was replaced with 1 slice of French toast (cost was $10) The maple syrup wasn't even real but the bill was! It came to almost $100 for barely any food for 2.5 people. Despite the mishaps, the food was sub par at best. It just seems kind of like nasty hotel food. I asked to speak to the manager and waited another 15 minutes for him. He seemed bothered that I was complaining and told me he would see what he could do. I waited another 15 minutes for him to return and when he did he offered me a 15% discount on two of the meals which came to $8 off. ( And he took the $10 charge off for the 1 piece of french toast that we got in place of the blueberry pancake. ) Offering us 15% off like it was a grand gesture is really disappointing. Especially while adding another 30 minute wait in order to receive it. That just topped off the whole experience. It seems like there could be an easy fix to not stressing out staff and customers. If a restaurant is running behind due to low staff or an overwhelmed kitchen, then they should have the customers wait longer to get seated. Simple. We would much rather have spend an hour enjoying the town or doing something else. I could hear so many people complaining about the wait. Sadly, the staff seemed stressed. For the most part this area of New York is uncharted. NYC gets all the hype. The Hudson Valley and the Adirondacks get plenty of action. The stretch of road from Syracuse to the Thousand Islands is filled with backwater burghs galore. Watertown is a chain restaurant paradise. There is one exit that actually has a fully operational Ponderosa! Sackets Harbor is a hidden gem in this region with an incredible water view and some very trendy restaurants. Tin Pan is definitely one of the better options. They know this, so the prices reflect that. It is a fairly tiny space but they have a beautiful patio area and a varied menu. I have been told they are very popular for their breakfast and brunch options. I ordered the French Onion soup and a Reuben. I didn't love the corned beef. It was extra lean and didn't have the best flavor. The bread was over grilled and even had a slight burned taste. The place that invented the dressing is right down the road but this Reuben had a surprising lack of it. I did like the bread and it was definitely homemade. It is hard to mess up French Onion soup and the one here was just fine. The sandwich came with a side of pasta salad which was fresh tasting and better than most. One of my party members was in a brunch mood and ordered the Tin Pan version of Sausage Gravy and Biscuits. It was a massive serving and looked great. He is a regular customer here and said it is a favorite spot of his wife's family. The staff here is clearly over extended. Wait times were significant and they appeared very overwhelmed. The management should probably keep that in mind especially during the summer and fall seasons. There is no doubt I would eat here again.
