An old school diner if I ever saw one. Servers are hustling around with big smiles and lots of coffee refills. Tables, chairs, and booths are plain wood. Decor is minimal, other than a very large map of the 1000 Island region on one wall. Portions are large and food is very comfortable, salty, and not too fancy - exactly what you've had 1000 times at other diners (which is just fine). My wife got an Eggs Benedict with tomato and spinach. She enjoyed it and couldn't finish the whole thing. I got the Musky Meal, which included a couple scrambled eggs, a couple strips of bacon, a chicken sausage patty (for an up-charge, which wasn't on the menu), and a piece of french toast. Plenty of food. We split a side of homemade wheat bread. The homemade bread was actually quite fluffy and yummy. In contrast, the french toast was just a store-bought piece of bread soaked in egg batter. read more

Stopped here for a coffee when we were in Clayton several times. I roast my own coffee so I'm pretty tough on places that do their own coffee. But their coffee here was pretty good. It's usually the strength that they don't get. Strong coffee is what I consider to be bold and you get all the flavors that you're looking for. These folks gave me a good cup of coffee. We were visiting the area for the extended weekend and decided to have breakfast before leaving the area. We weren't staying in Clayton but saw this spot while walking around Clayton the day before. On arrival, there was a bit of a wait outside but we were seated immediately as we were a small party, The restaurant was busy but did not feel stuffy. There were cute marine details and the staff was extremely pleasant as soon as we entered. There were plenty of options on the menu including gluten free options. I gravitated toward a platter that included a little bit of everything: eggs, home fries, bacon, sausage and French toast. The food was absolutely delicious and the meal arrived on two plates. We were stuffed. Before leaving, my husband ordered a cinnamon roll to go because they're his weakness and it was gigantic. It was only $3 and the largest most delicious roll I'd ever seen. My husband said it was extremely tasty and not too sweet. I'm happy to say I'd definitely visit again if I'm in the area and highly recommend this business! read more

Disappointed, having read the reviews before we went there. Ordered the beef taco bowl for takeout. our intention was to enjoy it by the river, but the wind picked up, rain threatened so we took it back to where we were staying, not 10" away. Bad sign: when we opened the plastic bag, couldn't smell anything; another bad sign: when we removed the aluminum foil, it wasn't even warm. The bowl itself was cool, the filling was barely warm. no utensils or napkins included! into the microwave it went. The beef was nicely seasoned, the rest of it was the usual. Didn't think the portion was particularly large. Waitresses were hustling, altho it was just getting busy; smiling and pleasant. Won't return; other places to try. :( read more

We had lunch there right after driving 4 hours to Clayton, and decided this place was just what what we wanted. Upon arriving, we discovered that Clayton MUST be the last place in the US to have coin meter parking. Luckily the Koffee Kove was obliging in breaking a single to provide quarters for the meter (note: 25 cents only, gets you 1/2 hour...). We sat down and....those booth seatbacks are hard! Bring a cushion if you have one! Luckily, the service and the food make up for the hard seats. We both had reuben sandwiches, and for only $12, these had to be the least expensive reubens I've seen in years! And they were great!! The place is small, but this must be about the nicest diner I've been to in years. read more

While on vacation, our family of 3 stopped in the Koffee Kove for breakfast. We ordered a variety of items to share. The Musky Meal was served with eggs, hash browns, bacon, sausage, and a side of French toast or pancake. I ordered a blueberry pancake on the side along with an extra side of scrambled eggs. This is the most our 5 year old ate all of vacation! The scrambled eggs were prepared perfectly and tasted super creamy. Everything was delicious. I especially appreciated the cold brew coffee with caramel flavoring. Highly recommend this restaurant if you are in the area. read more

Koffee Kove is a Clayton mainstay. It's open all year, unlike many seasonal restaurants in the area. The food is traditional diner breakfast and lunch fare - omelettes, pancakes, burgers, sandwiches, and tons of pies and desserts. They even have a black bean burger. My favorite breakfast here is the Bagelette. It's just eggs and cheese on a plain bagel (that I add mushrooms to) but it's so good! You can customize it with your choice of veggies or meat. Add a side of potatoes and it'll keep you full for a while. Service can be slow when they are busy (expect a wait for a table on a Saturday or Sunday morning), but the food is consistently good so I think it's worth the wait. The best part of the 1000 Islands is not being in hurry! read more

This is the place to visit for great food. Variety selection for everyone including kids. Stopped in for lunch had BLT, hubby had his favorite Ruben open face sandwich and Granddaughter wanted cheese sticks. Hubby stated Best Ruben he ever had. Everything was delish, left empty plates on table. Service was friendly and quick. Placed filled up fast for lunch service. Weekends open until 2pm, weekdays open till 7pm. Quaint local diner feel with a welcoming atmosphere. We came here for breakfast. I had the local 2 eggs with home fries and English muffin. Would rate as above average. I highly recommend trying one of the bennys though - was definitely tastier (we had the Mexican). Disappointed that the waitress went and took orders from 5 different parties and finally took mine - I was there 10 minutes before them .. Watched 6 more parties get served and leaving by the time I got my: Burnt eggs COLD AF toast French toast - not even Luke warm Bacon was cold For some reason she was gonna be as nasty as she could - I was polite and joking with her so I don't know what got into her. Took 28 minutes to be served that cold garbage plate - Was gonna walk out but held in to be nice and then I found hair in my food. Watched her put her fingers into the food and not wash her hands afterwards No sorry just " your all set" - I honestly think she was upset not about the hair but that she couldn't stick it to me - you actually think that was gonna happen Sister. It's one thing being rude It's another serving intentionally cold over cooked food Even the yolk was cooked on the "over medium" Did what any self respecting person does Picked up my $5.00 tip off the counter and put it back in my pocket and off to start my day. Special note - I wasn't paying either way - I knew you had it out for me when you watched my turn around over and over seeing everyone getting served. You're an ASSHOLE and I don't pay assholes. And then you had the balls to complain that I opened the butter cups as I waited - yea that was then I decided you weren't getting a dime out of me. Omg how do they not have 5 stars? This place is amazing - so much so I hesitated to leave a review for fear of too many other people finding it - but since it's been in Clayton for 51 years it's probably not a secret. Food is great, breakfast is amazing, service is fast and friendly, and it's a staple for us whenever we come to the river. Highly recommend the eggs Benedict (lots of varieties). Perhaps a bit heavy on the hollandaise and would have been much nicer with either back or peameal bacon instead of the cold cuts of ham. Met a friend for breakfast on a Monday. I had the veggie Benny which was good. Hollandaise sauce was ok, but the eggs and avocado were great. Friend had a veggie omelet that could have fed two people. Plenty of tables at 8 am when we arrived, folks standing outside waiting for a table when we left at 9:30. Great breakfast this time around. We come up to the Thousand Islands every year, and I don't know if this is my favorite place to get breakfast now, but it's a contender. Got my tried and true corned beef hash with sunny-side up eggs with toast. The hash was nice and crispy, the eggs were runny, the toast was homemade and cut thick, and the coffee was hot.. Everywhere we went Koffee Kove was recommended. We stopped in for breakfast and can see why. I can imagine that during the Spring and Summer there is a wait for a table, but being here during the off-season we had our choice of tables. I had avocado toast and a side of sausage patties and hubby had corned beef hash with eggs and bacon. Everything was delicious! Stopped in here one morning for breakfast while we were staying in Clayton. We both got omelettes with our choice of fillings and homemade bread. It also came with a side of cubed French fried potatoes. The omelettes were absolutely huge and delicious. There was more than enough for two people but we both ate everything on our plates. We didn't have to eat lunch this day because we were still satisfied at that time. We got a piece of coconut cream pie to save for dessert later in the day. It was very good.
