    Gin cocktail

I had been following Shipwreck Eatery online for quite a while before I finally ended up here for lunch. I'm so glad I did! My husband got a breakfast sandwich with roasted red peppers, avocado, and cheese. I got the burrito bowl minus real chicken and with vegan chicken, sour cream and hot sauce on the side. Order at the counter and they'll bring your food out to you. There is indoor and outdoor seating (we sat outside on the covered patio). There's a gorgeous view of the St. Lawrence River and several islands. I wish I had taken a picture of the cocktail menu because I couldn't locate it anywhere online. My husband got a very tasty gin drink with ginger beer, and neither of us can remember the name. I think they need to make a bigger deal about the "build your own" salads, sandwiches, and bowls. I'm a picky eater with dietary restrictions, so many restaurants in this region are out of the question for me, but Shipwreck is perfect. I didn't even know I could customize my bowl until I saw that menu randomly on the counter. Kids will probably love to make their own creation too.

The person that took our order was very friendly and welcoming. The food and coffee were delicious! Beautiful scenery right by the river to enjoy as you eat on the outside patio. We will definitely be back!

Stopped at this small eatery for breakfast one morning in early October - Once you order at the register, you have a choice to sit at the small bar, several tables indoors, or covered outdoor seating in the back that overlooks the water. Food was pretty good and coffee (only hot available) wasn't bad. Staff were friendly. Not a must-go spot, but not unsatisfied either!

Great service, delicious food, wonderful river views from the deck. Hopefully you can catch breakfast or lunch here while they are open for the season

Shipwreck eatery is no longer open. There is a new restaurant call the sunshine Café in its place. I will post a review there.

Great food! Good vegan options also, not just an afterthought. Casual lunch place with a great patio over the water.

The Monday special for today (Monday) is the build your own bowl of the day. You choose the ingredients - all different, or double up on the ones you love best. Can't go wrong with this! And the Ranch dressing was awesome! Very garlic and dill! The server was patient with us, which we appreciated, and helped ease things along by making suggestions. The setting is a bit like a subway sandwich bar, where you order at the counter and wait for your order. This gives it a fast food chain feeling. It had some low chairs at tables, and some high cafe chairs against the counter along the wall and windows. We were alone when we started, but it got quite busy!! I wish some soups had been on display (although I was happy with what I got), and that the seating had been a tad more comfortable. We never did find out what the wifi password is; something to add for next time. Can't wait to go back!!

It might have been just the Buddha's Bowl itself because my husband's Oaxaca Bowl portions were much more generous than mine. I asked the older lady/staff member who put my bowl together, and she told me that's how much their scoop is, which is too small. The entire contents of the bowl did not fill up even half of the bowl. Other than that, friendly cashier.

Also the pastries and baked goods are magical. Decadent cookies, flaky croissants, which is seemingly their specialty with cruffins (muffins made with croissant dough and filled with magic) traditional croissants, and cinnamon sugar morning buns, which are all on the menu daily. The cruffins are perfection. My personal favourite is the lemon blueberry, the perfect balance of buttery, tart and sweet. The morning buns are delightful sugary goodness, brownies are rich and luscious, and they have the best ginger molasses cookies around.. There's honestly options for everyone, simple but delicious for the kids, traditional picks to please anyone and elevated unique fare for the adults - including craft beer to top off a fantastic meal. Highly recommend to anyone visiting Perth and locals alike. But go early if you're going for the baked goods, they sell out fast!

One of my colleagues is from Perth and when I told her my husband and I were doing a day trip to Perth as part of our staycation, she recommended we have lunch at Fieldhouse. I love bakeries, so we followed her recommendation. The place is a lot smaller than I expected. It only has seating for 8 inside (4 tables of 2) and 4 picnic tables outside (so seating for about 16 outside). I got the Chicken and Brie sandwich ($14.75) and added a side salad for my husband and I to share ($5). My husband got the Ham and Swiss sandwich ($14.25) and we also got a cruffin ($5.25) for dessert, but ended up taking it home. Before we left my husband got an Americano to go ($3). I enjoyed my sandwich. The bread was crusty and held the ingredients of the sandwich well. The peppery arugula in the sandwich went well with the chicken and Brie. I was thrilled that the chicken was real roasted chicken breast meat (and not deli meat, lol). The aioli was flavourful but a bit excessive in quantity for my tastes. It dripped onto the plate with every bite, lol. The salad was leaf lettuce, shredded cabbage and carrots. Vegetables were fresh. I asked for the dressing on the side and it came as requested. The dressing was a creamy dressing and on the runny side. I'm glad I asked for it on the side, as I used only about a third of it. I had a bite of my husband's sandwich and it was ok, but I much preferred mine. He liked his better, so it all worked out. His was on a fluffier and softer bread. The ham was deli ham, but it tasted ok. The Swiss cheese was nippy. Service was pleasant. My husband enjoyed his Americano. We had the Brownie Cruffin at home. The pastry was flakey and delicious. The chocolate filling was like a rich chocolate pudding. It was very decadent. Overall we enjoyed our meal, but I found it a bit pricey, but I guess in today's economy, this is what you pay for sandwiches. Street parking only. (125)

When we walked into this restaurant, we were surprised to see how nicely decorated it was. The decor was chic, as well as being inviting and warm. The restaurant itself was more on the small side however, it was a good fit for the number of customers at the time. Since it was a nice day outside, we decided to eat on the patio. The patio faced the street, and was nicely enclosed with flower pots decorating the edges. Once we had settled down and chose our items, we waited about 15-20 minutes, which we found to be a bit too long. As we were about to ask the waitress where our meals were, we were brought our items. I had settled on the chicken focaccia sandwich with sweet potato fries; the chicken in my sandwich was dry, with only a small amount of garlic spread inside of the bun. I did enjoy the sweet potato fries though, as did my daughter, whom took nibbles of the fries from my plate. My daughter had gotten the pasta with red sauce, which looked like chunks of tomatoes mashed up, and spread on the top of the dish. The taste was also inadequate, as my daughter hardly ate it. My mother settled on the fish tacos, which were heavily battered. My son chose the hamburger, which he enjoyed, especially with the fries on the side. We weren't too keen on the food, as many of the food items were subpar, and the prices were high. Luckily, the children ate free, as the restaurant had a deal that all children ate free on Sunday. We found that to be a plus however, the price was still high despite the removal of two children's meals. Overall, this restaurant had a nice ambiance however, the food wasn't worth the price, and we didn't find the service to be accommodating. Despite asking about recommendations for the area, the waitress told us that she wasn't aware of what was available, and to just walk up and down the main road. We were hoping for more of a recommendation however, we didn't receive it. We definitely wouldn't return to this restaurant in the future if we were in the area again .
