She was absolutely lovely to work with! Very responsive to emails and phone calls, and super flexible and helpful with pairing flavors for us. She made a variety of mini-cupcakes and frostings for our tasting and each were delicious--even the margarita cake! As someone who does not like chocolate, I would have eaten the chocolate ganache frosting with gusto. We ended up choosing traditional flavors: red velvet with cream cheese frosting for the bottom (12") and top (6") tiers as well as vanilla with chocolate ganache for the middle (8"). We had just shy of 60 guests at our wedding and were able to take the entire top tier home. She understood the type of design we wanted for our cake (very simple and clean, which required the use of fondant). Our guests enjoyed the taste, though they thought it was "a bit sweet" (probably due to the fondant). The style was what was in my head but not executed as cleanly as I would have liked--in the days before Pinterest, brides didn't have 1,000 images to show their baker, after all--but I was still happy with the price, taste, and service and would recommend her to friends. I'm pleased to see that she now has her own storefront. I have yet to visit, but plan to rectify that soon.

On this trip, we stopped at the smaller West End shop the night we arrived, then visited the Portland Bayside location the next morning. We picked up a medium pumpkin pie, a bourbon pecan pie, and an individual blueberry pie for a relative. The blueberry pie was excellent--made with real Maine blueberries and a perfectly flaky crust. I usually go for their sweet pastries, but the cheddar scallion biscuit was a standout: melt-in-your-mouth delicious. The large peanut butter cookie was soft in the center and very tasty. Service at both locations was friendly and helpful. The West End shop has a small seating area, while Bayside offers more tables and (I think) a counter with stools. We got everything to go since we were visiting family up north. They do serve coffee, and note they're closed Monday and Tuesday. We'll definitely be back next time we're in Portland.

Posted a comment and was asked to send a private message. I am so glad I did. The Macarons I ordered were St Patty's day themed. Lucky charms cereal, Shamrock Shake and Baileys Irish creme! Too die for flavors! The cookie part perfectly baked, the creme filling inside is out of this world flavored! I also order their special box. It is a heart filled chocolate box filled with chocolate and or candy. Hot cocoa bombs (choices of dark, milk or white chocolate) and chocolate dipped strawberries! Which are huge by the way and just as delicious! The best part about this entire thing is I am Gluten free, they double checked the chocolate to verify it was GF!
