We went here to get a few(ha) donuts to do a tasting this morning, we left with a dozen different…read moreflavors and a bacon cheddar fried donut!! I also got an iced vanilla latte - thoroughly enjoyed the latte! Four adults and a toddler sampled a bunch of donuts - sounds like the start of a terrible joke...These are my notes on all of the donuts and not a consensus from the group, in no particular order. Woopie pie: 4 stars - good flavor and texture, nice way to begin this sampling experience. Bacon cheddar fried donut: 5 stars - delicious, amazing flavor, served hot, good distribution of fillings; would gladly have this again! Margarita: 3 stars - definitely taste the salt and lime, little bit of tequila as well; glad I experienced this, not something I'll go back for. Key lime holy cannoli: 5 stars - love the texture of the donut, light and fluffy, good lime flavor and enjoyed the cannoli cream. Creme brulee: 3 stars - good flavor, the crystallized chunks of sugar were a nice touch; I had high hopes, and it was alright but not life changing - that's on me. Maple: 3 stars - typical maple donut, not overwhelming with flavor but definitely knew it was maple. Maple bacon: 4 stars - lots of bacon, almost balanced by the maple. Blueberry lemon: 5 stars - really great lemon flavor to the glaze, blueberry flavor comes through the donut nicely; looking forward to having this again! Vanilla holy cannoli: 5 stars - again, love the texture of the donut, classic flavor with the cannoli cream; I would gladly eat a whole one of these! Chocolate sea salt: 3 stars - good chocolate flavor, didn't get much of the sea salt coming through. Pomegranate: 4 stars - very sweet, good amount of pomegranate flavor; could not eat a whole one as it would be too sweet for me. Honey lavender: 5 stars - mmm, honey and lavender partnered nicely, sweet but not obnoxiously so, loved how well the lavender flavor came through; I very much so enjoy botanicals in sweet treats and lattes. Toasted coconut: 5 stars - deliciously sweet coconut taste, nostalgic flavor of something my grandma use to make, I really enjoyed it! Such a fun way to bond with friends and spend a relaxing morning on vacation! Would gladly get donuts here again, and now that i know my favorites, I can be more intentional with my order next time

Not overly sweet donut, but the different glazes can be. Such a unique flavor that's is delicious. We ordered 4 donuts (dark chocolate sea salt, lemon, Whoopie pie, coffee brandy) and an Americano and a coffee. The drinks were good. The donuts - Wowzer! Wanted to try the blueberry one too but sold out. My favorite was the chocolate... hubbys was coffee brandy one. They do have some merch to select as well and they have their whole bean coffee available. The service was great. You will pay for these gems of deliciousness - like $4+ a donut. Doesn't matter - just order them! So good.

Gross Confection recently announced on social media they would be shutting down the bar/desserts service while remaining open as a bakery. My wife and I came here many a times for an end cap to the night for one last drink and delicious and beautifully made desserts. From times in their dimly lit space that gave off romantic vibes or even enjoying our desserts in the summer sun outside people watching, every time will be remembered. Timing worked out well and we were doing a staycation in Portland and knew we needed to add a stop here one last time. Thankfully we got our names in on the waiting list early enough Friday and got sat as one of the last tables. We each had one last phenomenal drink; my wife and Apricot 75 that had a great tart kick of apricot and lemon. While I enjoyed their Chai Fashioned which spelt like a chai but had that boozy bourbon warming you'd expect. Dessert wise everything sounded good as always but we settled on two. The Goat Cheesecake and Pineapple Cake. The cheesecake was the perfect sweetness without being cloying and the blueberry sorbet on top paired so well. The pineapple cake was moist and tasted so good we needed to scrap the plate clean. I'm sad that Portland is losing this amazing dessert space but glad it's not a complete goodbye since they'll operate the bakery still! If you somehow read this today and have the chance make it in for one last visit tonight before they close their doors!

It is a bar, but with the highest quality dessert. They do not serve non- dessert food…read more This was my 2nd time there. Loved it again. Great service, cozy atmosphere, open later (we went after 9pm), great selection of desserts.

On this trip, we stopped at the smaller West End shop the night we arrived, then visited the Portland Bayside location the next morning. We picked up a medium pumpkin pie, a bourbon pecan pie, and an individual blueberry pie for a relative. The blueberry pie was excellent--made with real Maine blueberries and a perfectly flaky crust. I usually go for their sweet pastries, but the cheddar scallion biscuit was a standout: melt-in-your-mouth delicious. The large peanut butter cookie was soft in the center and very tasty. Service at both locations was friendly and helpful. The West End shop has a small seating area, while Bayside offers more tables and (I think) a counter with stools. We got everything to go since we were visiting family up north. They do serve coffee, and note they're closed Monday and Tuesday. We'll definitely be back next time we're in Portland.

My partner was able to pick up a birthday pie right before closing, they were so sweet to let him in minutes before. We later realized it was a blueberry pie instead of the apple pie. I called first thing the next morning, and Jamie was so kind and helpful! She immediately set aside an apple pie for us to pick up. The pie was absolutely delicious and the service turned what could've been a frustrating experience into such a positive one. Highly recommend Two Fat Cats Bakery for all your pie needs! They truly care about their customers.
