We were recommended to Tim's by several different VW dealers. We were excited to have a local German auto mechanic with great reviews. Ugh we called to introduce ourselves and be sure they were all we had heard. Sadly they do not service older classic VW cars. We have a 1969 Karman Ghia , air cooled. They declined to help us but were very honest about it. They also quickly told us they would text us the name if a past employee who had his own business servicing older VW cars and then did that! We appreciated the time. Though we cannot comment on the actual business we can pass on our personal experience as helpful. read more

Tim's German Auto has changed owners and the change was no for the better. It felt like they are all about the money and giving me a huge list of all of the things the car needs to have done. When I first called them I asked if there was a charge for diagnosis and was told that they only charge for Electrical diagnostic testing. But when I went to pick up my car, they charged me over $225 for the diagnosis. I DID NOT HAVE AN ELECTRICAL DIAGNOSIS PERFORMED ON MY CAR. Avoid this one or beware! read more

Organized and friendly, but Very overpriced, by thousands. Charges for initial estimate. Will not return.

Had our Mercedes oil change done at Tim's German Auto and couldn't be happier. The service was substantially less expensive than the dealership, but honestly felt better than the dealer experience. The shop manages to be homey and high-tech at the same time, which is a rare combo. Before any work even started, they sent a pre-service walkaround with photos, which was a really nice touch and instantly built trust. Everyone there is professional, friendly, and clearly knows German cars inside and out. No pressure, no upselling -- just clear communication and solid work. Only small suggestion for improvement: it would be great if the tech and front desk coordinate before additional service recommendations are made. For example, brakes were suggested based on digital service records, but the actual brake pads are almost brand new and didn't need replacement. Not a big deal, just a minor process tweak. Overall, excellent experience and we'll absolutely be back. read more

Here's what I discovered on my first try at Tim's getting a brake job: THE BAD: 1. VERY small staff so if anyone is sick, a simple repair will take a week or more. 2. They prioritize based on what customer is maddest. I'm nice, so I was out of luck. 3. Big attitude from the front desk guy. 4. They don't take checks and they will add 3-4% if you use a credit card. THE GOOD: 1. Their pricing is in line with any other shop. 2. Their quality of work seems good. 3. Tim, the owner, is a very nice guy. He let me write a check despite the attitude guy's protests. read more

They went above and beyond to give me a solid quote on repairs for my daughter's mini as well as good advice and options. They were also very personable and kind. read more

Friendly folks with a spotless workshop. Fixed our car while I had breakfast a couple of doors down at the Day Break Cafe & Grill. A positive experience all around. read more

They were awesome. I had got a new battery for my Volkswagen Bettle and was told the place I bought it from they couldn't install it because they didn't work on Volkswagens or Audi's, they told me I had to take it to the Dealership or find a mechanic that works on my brand of car. I call the dealership and was told I had to buy the battery from them and for the battery and installation it would be about $500. I googled on yelp mechanics that work on Volkswagen. Tim's German auto let me bring the battery I bought and installed it for less than $100. I will be taking my car to Tim's German Auto for all my future car needs. They were fair, speedy and everyone I interacted with were so nice!!! read more

If there was the ability to give 10 stars I would again and again. I have used Tims three times now for my Audi A5. Not only do they have the sweetest ladies and the cutest "shop dog" working the front office their techs are amazing. My last visit I was reporting my car would make a noise when I would brake then turn. Turned out to be a can of tire shine under the seat. I was mortified and they were gracious! I had lunch sent to them the next day! They are honest, fair, and delightful to work with. I will only take my car to Tim in the future! read more

So glad we found this place. My daughters little Volkswagen has finally found a home where they will treat it right. Had extensive work done on her Beetle and she is very happy. The customer service is amazing and Tim made sure my daughter knew how to check her oil. Tim also thoroughly explained all the repairs. We even got an awesome referral to another repair shop for our Cadillac. read more

I came in with a mysterious check engine light on and Tim ran some tests on my car, found the issue and had me out the door within the hour. I came in from Austin to visit my family and was very worried about the issue and the time it might take to be fixed but these folks were great. The staff was very friendly and helpful also! I would recommend this place to anyone I know with a German car needing work. Very pleased! read more

I brought my E 63 into Tim's garage for a brake change that was going to cost over $4000 at the Mercedes dealership. Cost me less than half with Tim. He looked at a few other things great guy great service read more

Have been using Tim's since my BMW. Can't rave about this team enough. They will get you taken care of!!!

We were traveling across the country. Blew out a brake light on our VW Passat. Called Monday morning, they said they would call later with a time to bring the car in for the repair. Tuesday at 8 was the appointment time, greeted with a family type of shop, coffee while my husband waited and the repair was finished in minutes. Price was great, service was wonderful and we were back on the road ! read more

Tims has serviced all of our family "fleet" of Audis and VWs for years. They are absolutely the most trustworthy, competent import service garage in Fort Worth - they will make you feel like part of the Tim's family! No need to pay high dealer prices for routine maintenance and they are spot on with repairs and general service too. Highly recommend. read more

They were very friendly and trustworthy! They kept communication with us about everything!

Took my car in for a wheel bearing replacement and they fixed the car without any issues. Funny thing is, I had a weird sound not wheel bearing related that I couldn't figure out what the issue was. Took it to a shop and they told me it was my shocks, proceeded with the replacements and the sound proceeded after about 2 days. Fast forward, after ignoring that sound my car started to growl around 30-40, so decided to take it in. Got my wheel bearing/wheel hub assembly replaced and it took care of both issues. So now I'm convinced it was the wheel bearing being worn all along and I wasted some money at the other shop. If you're looking to get things done right the first time. Come visit this shop for all your European auto needs. I will be back. Also the customer service was great as well, family owned and operated. Love it read more

Awful customer service from the receptionist. Hung up after belittling me. If I could give 0 stars I would.

First of all, Tim's probably has the best customer service of any repair shop I've ever been. The two ladies that work there are some of the sweetest people I've ever met. Secondly, they know what they're talking about, and they have really great prices. Will definitely be bringing my Audi back here! read more

My daughter was traveling back from Oklahoma, when her low oil pressure light in her Volkswagen came on. We had just had her car serviced at a regular service center. We live in Austin, and don't know Fort Worth very well. I googled Tim's German Auto and even though they were fully booked they let her bring the car in and fixed the problem quickly and at a great price!!! I highly recommend them to anyone with a German car in the Fort Worth area. Thank you Tim's German Auto for helping my daughter out and giving us peace of mind!! read more

This is one of the most friendliest establishments I have ever came across. I walked in and was greeted right away, made me feel so welcome. Highly recommend this business! read more

Friendly, fast, flexible! Completed work in a timely and professional manner. They even worked with us around OUR schedule for a change! Would send anyone with an Audi or VW to this place! Thanks again! read more

Great work done quickly and at every one of our conveniences. We had a hitch put on our 2010 Golf TDI, and even though it wasn't their forte, they said no problem and completed the job in 2 hours...and billed for 2 hours. Thank you Tim's (Zach and Tim especially)! read more

Unfortunately this company is extremely unprofessional and the lady who makes the appointments is quite rude. Find another shop like Eurospec on Alta Mere. read more

Our Wolfsburg Jetta had a problem that so many other Jetts's seem to have. Tim helped us work through the issues by listening to my point of view from what I have read and I listened to him on what would be the best plan of action. Our Jetta is working better than it has ever has since I bought it last year. He has a great friendly staff and most times you talk with him directly when you call. With someone with a company like he has, I will not take my Jetta any other place than to Tim's. Do not shy away from here. If you have an check engine light/accelerator issue go see Tim. I look forward to the next time I want to go to keep my car in top running performance. Mitch Lambert read more

I couldn't recommend Tim's more! Everyone who worked there was friendly, honest, and they completed the work on my car quickly.

Tim and his team are honest, quick and great to work with! I will now drive all the way from Dallas for any car repair needs

Well I can't work on a car myself so I need to trust someone. I've dealt with them several times, they are big salesman, seem very straight forward. For this i will continue to use them. Plus they have a couple really cool dogs which is always a plus. read more

These guys are AWESOME!. We both have German cars (Audi and VW) and Tim knows his stuff. Sure wish we knew about them earlier. Really trustworthy shop, very fast and really reasonable prices. German car maintenance is not cheap! *sigh* But they have the best prices with extensive knowlege about our cars. They have fixed things others have missed. They are super friendly and the office is nice and clean. My kids like playing with the office cat and VW enthusiasts will enjoy the memorabilia. We'll never use anyone else. Thanks Tim! read more

After purchasing our Audi from a less than reputable dealer. We had a mess on our hands. Tim's gave us a fair quote on the things that must be done. The estimate was well over 6K, but was the only way to get the POS we purchased in working shape to pass the state inspection. read more

Felt like family! They took great care of me and my Q5, now I'm prepared for my long drive to Maryland. Thank you all so much !!

I have had my car at Tims 3 times in the last 6 months. The first 2 times they had it nearly 2 weeks before I got it back and I decided I would not go back again. Unfortunately, they put in a bad master cylinder and I didn't have a choice. They have had I a week so far and when I called to check on it I was told "they are working on it". If you're not in a hurry and you like poor customer service, this the place to take your car read more

What can you say? This place is the bee's knees for VW Audi. I'm surprised it only has a few reviews. Professional and very experienced techs walk the floors, with the owners canines. LOL They have a great a great reputation with all the dealers on the street. You can see Tim bicycling to get parts. I figured my older car was toast as I went to a shop a few blocks from where I live. The shop told me this and that and that it would be a crapload to fix. It was also out of their league they said. Tim (There are DOS) told me it was the master cylinder and I explained that the previous guy said that it was good and it a bad sensor festival needing to be fixed. Tim assured me that he had been doing this a long time and this is what he recommends. The next day he called me telling me to pick it up and the price was a quarter of what the first shop misdiagnosed. Oh and I'm going to need a discount, but I just remembered running into a Red VW GLI 04.5. It was hot. I drove it. It was a few years ago. The owner told me that he bought it because he liked it obviously, but that he also never wanted to visit another repair shop if it wasn't Tim's. That's the truth Ruth. I pick up my 96 GLX tomorrow. Cheers! read more

Great service. Got a light changed and a new grill for my VW Beetle and was in and out in less than an hour!

Very disappointed with their service or lack thereof! Took my daughters car in for routine service, it was the first time to be serviced somewhere other than a VW dealership. Somewhere between the two, the oil pan drain plug was destoried and this caused the oil pan to be worthless and needed to be replaced. At first, Tim's tried to say it stripped on the way out, when asked how a bolt could be stripped of it's threads by backing it out, they decided that it must have been cross threaded. When I ask if it was hard to remove, the mechanic started telling me how hard it was and how long it took him to get it out. I then ask, "why did you not stop and call me, so that I might take it to the VW dealership that last changed the oil and ask them about it?" All I got was, "yeah, I guess I should have done that". Then the shop foreman was brilliant enough to say, "we had a decision to make, and we made it". Really! Thanks to your decision, it cost my daughter an extra $200 bucks! Then he actually tried to get me to agree to give them another shot next time that the car needed service! HA! I must say, I was looking forward to doing business with this shop. NOT ANYMORE!! Stay away! read more

Great service! They are so nice and were very fast with my repairs. My go to place to take my Audi whenever I have a problem!

Have only taken my car in twice for service, but they seem trusworthy, and they know what they're doing. I will keep taking my car there only unless they give me a reason otherwise. So far though, I'm very happy and hopefully they will become my permanent shop. read more
