In both instances, the technician claimed there were five to seven nails in the tires. While road hazards do happen, that number raises serious concerns. It feels highly improbable and, frankly, suspicious. Side note:if the nail or scre is in the middle of the tread you're good for a plug! Don't let snake oil salesman tell you need new tires. Witness the tire removal and test process. Don't trust their practices. The end result? Nearly $800 for two tires and an alignment, justified with statements like, "It's standard to do it, miss." That explanation came across as dismissive and condescending. It is difficult not to feel that women are being upsold or pressured into unnecessary services at this location. To make matters worse, one of my family members was sent away during a snowstorm with the remaining two tires underinflated. She then had to stop at Royal Farms down the street and pay to inflate them herself. That is unarcentable and uinsafe. My concern is simple: customers -- particularly women -- should not feel taken advantage of or pressured into expensive repairs without clear, transparent justification. If you choose to go here, I strongly recommend closely observing the work being done and asking detailed questions before approving additional services. Serious Safety Negligence - No Accountability…read more I took my car to Mr. Tire for brake service (the brakes are fine now, fortunately). During a routine six-month inspection at another shop, they discovered that a can of highly flammable brake cleaner had been left under my car, directly on top of the exhaust system. I was told that had it exploded (which it easily could have), I might not be here to write this review. I called Mr. Tire immediately, gave my name and number, and reported the issue. No one ever responded. No apology, no concern, no acknowledgment. This level of negligence is unacceptable. It's one thing to make a mistake, but quite another to ignore a customer who was nearly harmed by it. I will not be returning, and I urge others to take serious caution before trusting this location with your vehicle or your safety.

So why today was I met by two new faces at the service desk with such a strikingly different attitude? I was surprised to hear oil changes require advance appointments, and you now prefer online. I mean, sure, I can do that. But when did that change? And why was a technician I've never seen before so condescending about it? He was downright hostile. Then the other guy chimed in and accused me of interrupting him. Honestly, gentlemen, I asked myself, "Is it worth it to schedule an appointment with you, if I know it's going to be you calling me to tell me any additional work that may need to be done? Do I trust the two of you?" The answer in that split-second moment was no. The arrogance, sarcasm, and belittling behavior by this pair made me realize I wouldn't trust these two to be the communicators of my mechanic shop. When I asked where the two old guys went, Kyle said with a smirk, "They went where all old guys go." Um, did they die? No, they retired, thankfully. Old guys from the desk, you are missed by your customers! Maybe it's the same great mechanics working behind closed bay doors at Hollenshade's, I don't know. Two guys I've never seen before told me things about how the business works that I've never heard before and treated me in a way no one at Hollenshades ever treated me before. Which leads me to the conclusion that this is not the same Hollenshade's I've trusted for over 20 years. I'm genuinely disappointed that I need to find a new mechanic. I honestly don't know what's happening at Hollenshade's anymore.
