Hillen Tire and Auto Service Tire Pros

Hillen Tire and Auto Service Tire Pros

Brian and staff are wonderful!…read more We had some questions about my BMW failing the inspection and he was super clear with next steps and what the state rules are. This was helpful as we just had a to clean a few things up and the car passed on the next visit. I also appreciated them allowing me to have my tires delivered and they put them on. My wheels didn't see a scratch. This cannot be said for a lot of tire places especially down in the Towson/Lutherville area. We're car people so going somewhere new is always scary but we needed that inspection before we PCS'd (Military move). If we were going to still be living here I would absolutely use them again.

1 am extremely disappointed with the service provided at Midas in Owings Mills…read more On multiple occasions, I sent female family members there for something simple: a tire plug. In both instances, the technician claimed there were five to seven nails in the tires. While road hazards do happen, that number raises serious concerns. It feels highly improbable and, frankly, suspicious. Side note:if the nail or scre is in the middle of the tread you're good for a plug! Don't let snake oil salesman tell you need new tires. Witness the tire removal and test process. Don't trust their practices. The end result? Nearly $800 for two tires and an alignment, justified with statements like, "It's standard to do it, miss." That explanation came across as dismissive and condescending. It is difficult not to feel that women are being upsold or pressured into unnecessary services at this location. To make matters worse, one of my family members was sent away during a snowstorm with the remaining two tires underinflated. She then had to stop at Royal Farms down the street and pay to inflate them herself. That is unarcentable and uinsafe. My concern is simple: customers -- particularly women -- should not feel taken advantage of or pressured into expensive repairs without clear, transparent justification. If you choose to go here, I strongly recommend closely observing the work being done and asking detailed questions before approving additional services. This experience has left a very bad impression. Professionalism, transparency, and customer safety should never be optional. -V(for the wommen in America review) P.s. I'm a guy writing this at the request of my female friends saying I shouldn't! I have been exposed to the inner workings of the automotive industry for 32 years and men specifically are taking advantage of women! My family members is where I draw the line. I'm calling you out and hope women listen to this and make more selective decisions! If you need assistance, reach out to us and we can help you avoid this!

When Matthew transferred to NTB on York Road in Timonium next to Best Buy, I switched to his new store. NTB is owned by the same company as Merchants. . At the new location, I met Bill, Mike, and some of the employees. They are all knowledgeable, friendly, fair with pricing, and I personally trust what they tell me to get repaired. . I have worked on my cars and trucks over the years. Changing brakes, alternators, oil, and many other parts. When I get recommendations about what can be repaired, and then they say what really needs to be repaired, I have always agreed with what they recommend. . I have had my current car since 2008, ten years. Still running great, and more importantly, I have never had an issue on the road. . I am not affiliated with NTB, Merchants, or any other related companies. I am just a customer who trusts the employees at this location. I traveled a half hour to get my service done at this location. I am currently in their TV room having my car updated with a new part for preventative maintenance. . Hollenshade's, what happened? I've been a solid customer for 20+ years, I take good care of my…read morecars, and I've always trusted your shop to do honest work. Like everybody, I waited patiently in your thimble-sized office, navigated your comically undersized lot, and quietly appreciated the humor of your staff through the years. Thank you for that. So why today was I met by two new faces at the service desk with such a strikingly different attitude? I was surprised to hear oil changes require advance appointments, and you now prefer online. I mean, sure, I can do that. But when did that change? And why was a technician I've never seen before so condescending about it? He was downright hostile. Then the other guy chimed in and accused me of interrupting him. Honestly, gentlemen, I asked myself, "Is it worth it to schedule an appointment with you, if I know it's going to be you calling me to tell me any additional work that may need to be done? Do I trust the two of you?" The answer in that split-second moment was no. The arrogance, sarcasm, and belittling behavior by this pair made me realize I wouldn't trust these two to be the communicators of my mechanic shop. When I asked where the two old guys went, Kyle said with a smirk, "They went where all old guys go." Um, did they die? No, they retired, thankfully. Old guys from the desk, you are missed by your customers! Maybe it's the same great mechanics working behind closed bay doors at Hollenshade's, I don't know. Two guys I've never seen before told me things about how the business works that I've never heard before and treated me in a way no one at Hollenshades ever treated me before. Which leads me to the conclusion that this is not the same Hollenshade's I've trusted for over 20 years. I'm genuinely disappointed that I need to find a new mechanic. I honestly don't know what's happening at Hollenshade's anymore.
