We were put on the schedule and Josh and hiss crew showed up on time. The crew was professional and very knowledgeabl. They took extra care to ensure that some other landscaping we had just finished was not damage. The tre was removed in very short order and the stump was ground such that a new tree can be planted. 1 Star: Extremely Unprofessional Driver -- Avoid This Business I haven't hired Timmy's Tree Service personally, but after today, I definitely never will. While driving through a quiet residential street, we were suddenly aggressively tailgated by one of their branded work trucks. The driver was right on our bumper, clearly impatient, and when we pulled aside to let them pass, the driver laid on the horn as he passed us. What's worse? They immediately did the same thing to the next car ahead. This was not a case of running late or navigating heavy traffic -- this was full-on road rage, and it was shocking to see such behavior from someone driving a company vehicle in a neighborhood. It says a lot about a business when their drivers are acting this aggressively behind the wheel of a truck covered in their logo. If this is how they behave on the road, I'd be worried about how they treat customers, property, and safety on the job site. If you care about professionalism, courtesy, or safety -- I recommend staying far away from Timmy's Tree Service. Jerome with Timmy's Tree Service come out to remove a large tree out front that needed to be taken out. They gave us a bid in writing, we agreed and they scheduled it to be done in a timely manner. They cut it down and had to do a deep grind to get the stump out so they could plant us a new tree. Always received a contract which we agreed to and they scheduled the work. We were going out of town and they got out right away to get the job done. Jerome explained what they were doing and why. I learned a lot. Our neighbor hired this tree service to remove trees from our property that he has hated for years. He told Timmy's it was his property. This service didn't even get our permission to remove the trees and took his word for it. How they thought it was his property when they had to come into our backyard is appalling. They were to just take the 4 dead trees away and then the neighbor told them to take out 7 healthy ones. I was livid. Very unprofessional to take the word of a neighbor, they should've stopped the service right then and there and contacted us before proceeding. I called the company, and they told me two different times the owner would call, he never did. They know they are in the wrong. Will NEVER recommend them and will let everyone know why. read more

This job didn't even get off the ground. Lady called me after I put in a request to have trees trimmed. Called and wanted to know what kind of tree it is and then asked me if it was the only tree. I said "No, we have a lot of trees". She responded with "Well, how are we going to know what tree it is?". Here's an idea they might not have thought of : come out to the house and meet with the customer. I was more than happy to give them all the information on site. Stay away. I could tell within five minutes they wanted to do the least amount of work and probably charge the most. read more

These people are a joke! We received a bid from them several months ago and since then we've heard absolutely nothing from them! I have called them several times and have spoken with a lady who acts like they could care less if they do the job or not! And it's no small job. We're talking several thousand dollars! I've left several messages and never has "Timmy" returned my calls. One reviewer said they never hounded them with phone calls! I would have liked to have been "hounded" with one! I wouldn't let Timmy trim my grass! Business must be awfully good to treat customers the way he does. I was so upset and the quality of service this time that I will not use them ever again. My wife and I think TTS might be struggling so they just don't care anymore. TIMMY-TIMMY-TIMMY! This tree service gave us a written bid as approved for a cost. A crew came out and did the trees specified in the written agreement. However, they missed the most important branches requested to be removed over my home and moreover; the lead tree trimmer crossed out the amount to be paid and doubled it as to say he did more work. Really!! I informed him there was no work order change approved to the the initial job description and being an Attorney by profession, I told him that was not viable. I paid what was originally set to contract and even said I would nicely tip after the fact. This "Fly by Nighter", they pulled in refused the gracious offer and I simply said here is your payment. Demanding twice as much to the original bid is extortion and Timmy's Tree Service is coupable in such when I get a phone call asking for my e-mail address to forward a revised billing. Refused as appropriate and they cashed the initial check in my deterrence. So sad that these guys think they can try and roll over customers. Not this time.... Imagine if your mother, a widower or any senior citizen had to deal with such! Shameful! read more

we called over a month ago to buy 2 cords of wood. getting ahold of them was difficult as was scheduling an appointment for the wood to be delivered. but there was no appointment, they just call you when they have someone to deliver it on that day. also, they don't do deliveries on weekends or after 3pm weekdays. anyway, when we finally got our wood, it was a variety of sizes, buckets full of chips and dirt, and tail endings of the normal firewood. probably a half a yard of chips and dirt. it's been a nightmare to stack and clean up. definitely going with someone else next year. read more

HORRIBLE SERVICE. Please read the whole review - Being new to our neighborhood, we needed several services, one being tree trimming and removal. I requested estimates from two local business's. One called me to schedule and called again saying they could come earlier if I wanted. Very nice. When I didn't hear from the other service, Timmy's Tree Service, I messaged them again, asking if we could schedule an appointment and basically what I needed done. Timmy, the owner, arrives at our door this morning unannounced and not scheduled. My husband's office is by the front door and he is leading a video conference call with 200+ employees. I do the scheduling only when I am available, or when I know he will be. My husband who is very thoughtful and kind, answered the door and when Timmy said what he was there for, asked if we had an appointment. Nope, he was just in the area and stopped by. My husband explained he was on a video call and kindly asked if he could schedule us in for tomorrow. Nope, Timmy does not give a schedule or make appointments, just drops by. My husband said, this would not work for us and Timmy left. Apparently, Timmy has some anger management issues aside from being completely unprofessional. He went back to his truck, wrote out an estimate in triplicate, white, yellow and pink in color, ripped it in thirty or so pieces, threw it on our driveway, along with another piece of paper with our address and directions on it, in the rain and said "Here's your estimate, bro" and left. I have this all on video. Who does this? Not a business I would ever work with, nor recommend. So be wary of this one. I can't imagine, given this unreasonable aggressive behavior, he would be an easy person to deal with if you did hire him and had any type of problem. If I could give zero stars I would. "Timmy" came to our house unannounced and tried to just start work. When we asked who he was and if he had an appointment, he said "no". No contract, no estimate, just shows up without an appointment. After we told him we weren't interested he tore up the estimate and threw it in the driveway. We have it on camera. If ONLY I had come here first! Sigh. My landlord used TTS for 5 years to try to save a tree from bugs. They came out to tree the tree with a systemic ($100) every year. My landlord was told that once it got older, it should "grow out of" danger from the bugs. However, it became infested and weak, and with all the windstorms-was in danger of falling on the house. We discovered this after the guy came to treat the tree. I had paid the $100 and the very next day, Timmy came out and said, "yeah, it just needs to come out." He said he'd be out the following week, and that the office would call to schedule it. When I called the office to ask about the $100 I had just paid to treat the tree, they said they would credit it toward the stump removal, or send me the check back-whichever I wanted. But then Timmy deposited my check anyway. The next week...nothing. No call. The following week...nothing. I called and left 2 voicemail messages. My landlord called and left a voice message. So, my landlord called Healthy Tree Service (if you're looking for someone who is actually responsive and knowledgeable). He came out to give an estimate and said he would remove the tree the next day...and he actually did. The following week, on a Tuesday, Carmen called to schedule the removal for Thursday. I told her it was already removed since I had waited over 3 weeks for them to call to schedule it. I told her I was planning on going to social media to express my displeasure. Her response "ok". A week later I got an envelope from Timmy's Tree Service. I thought, perhaps, they might have done the right thing and sent me my $100 back, but low and behold, they charged me a $100 cancellation fee. What the actual....?! Do yourself a favor and save yourself a lot of grief by going elsewhere. And, I will do myself a favor and use Yelp more often! read more

Firewood! I've tried four different people and even another tree service over the past two years, and Timmy's Tree Service was the only one that came through with firewood as promised. They gave me the price and the delivery date and time, and I just got done stacking the wood. I've been stood up by others so much I was beginning to wonder whether anyone would really deliver, but Timmy's did. I really appreciate a company that delivers as promised. I received an estimate from Tim's tree service. They were very vague on when they could actually do the work, I was told within the next week and they would call a week and half went buy no call. I called them on a Tues. and got an appt. for the following Thurs, i ended up needing to cancel the appt. I called back later that same Tues. to cancel. I was billed a $50 cancellation fee and then not 4 days later I received a collection letter from a collection agency from. I would not recommend this company to anyone!!! read more

Not Recommended for Firewood Don't waste your time or money I called after finding an add on craigslist the gentleman I spoke with was very evasive when I asked simple questions like "What kind of wood is it" and "can i schedule a delivery". His answers were "oh, it's a mix of stuff" and "well I can't right now but I could call you back" Call me silly but I think if you run a business that delivers a product to people's homes and demands CA$H. You should be able to schedule a Date and Time to deliver the product. I tried 4 times to schedule a delivery with the guy, then it snowed the day I had them scheduled to deliver and I got a call that they were canceling all deliveries. I asked if he could deliver the next available week day, he said "I'll have to let you know" when I pressed for a litle more of a committed time frame he said "I'll keep you in the loop" That was 6 days ago, nobody from Timmy's has called me back. Horrible customer service. These guys were recommended to us by a friend and I would NOT recommend them to anyone. Every time I called to ask questions, they basically laughed at me. They were jerks. I asked if I could get some wood chips from them from my trees and he said, only if you want me to dump 10 yards in front of your house. I'm not sure how to do it unless I just point the chipper at your front door. He could have just said no. They also don't want you around during the estimate or when they do the job. I asked them to come on my day off and he flat out told me no. During the job, he broke two of my garden gnomes and I came home to a gardeners nightmare. What a mess! I wanted to cry. DEPLORABLE customer service, just like other reviewers have testified to!! Do not waste your breath in calling this guy for an estimate. Please read to the end. After giving us the estimate he said we would need to remove our camper trailer, not have the dog at the house, and that someone would be calling us in 2-3 weeks to make an appointment to do the job. The following week we get a call telling us that they will be there the next day to trim our tree. I told them that because both my wife and I work, I cannot get my trailer moved for that next day and that I need more than a half days' notice to move my trailer and make arrangements for my dog. So tomorrow will not work. The girl on the phone tells me that because they cannot do our job that they will not be able to do other jobs in our area, trying to pressure me into having the work done the next day. I told her again I could not get the trailer moved and the dog arrangements for tomorrow as requested by Timmy, and that they need to make give me more notice and try again another time. The next week I get a call on Tuesday that they will be there on Thursday to do the tree trim. I told her that we were leaving on vacation the next day and that Thursday would not work and apologized that our schedules were not matching up. She put me on hold and when she came back on told me that they were going to bill us a $100 cancellation fee. I told her we hadn't even made an appointment yet. How can you bill me for an appointment we have not made? She said again that because we were not available to do the job Thursday that they could not do the other jobs, so they would have to bill us this "cancellation" fee. It's not my problem that they have to make an appointment with me and the rest of Boise on the same day. After some lengthy conversation to told her I no longer wanted them on my property, to take me off of their list, and that I expected a call from her or someone from her company to confirm that we were not going to be billed for anything, to which she agreed to do. That call never came. The following week I called back and rehearsed the same thing to the person on the phone. And that I would like a call back. She said she would talk to Timmy and promised to call me back but that if I did not pay this fee, they would be sending this to collections. I told her to not send anything to collections and that I wanted to talk to Timmy...He was not available. Again, that call never came. I called again the following Friday and talk to the same girl. She told me Timmy had not gotten back to her with my request but promised to talk to him and get back to me on Monday...again no call back to me, but I did get an invoice in the mail for $100. After about 10 days of trying to get this resolved and because I did not want this to go to collections and show on my credit report we ended up paying the $100 even though we know, and we know they know, we are in the right. We sent the $100 with instructions to give us in writing that this issue was closed. A week later we received the requested letter. In it was written: Sorry we could not accommodate your schedule. You didn't even try! I am NOT sorry to tell everyone I know that needs tree service to steer clear of Timmy's Tree Service because the only service they will get, if any, is no customer service from the top down. read more

I wished I would have looked at the other reviews before we used Timmy's Tree Service after having a recommendation from a friend. They came right out to do the bid and said that they could remove the trees and bushes and take them even to the ground. They left a complete mess and rather than pull the bushes out, the topped them about 6 inches above the ground. We've made several calls asking them to come back out and they've made no attempts. I called at 9 to check if he could narrow it down to a smaller window of time. Tim said it'd be closer to noon. Called after 12 and asked for an update. I told her this was not what I needed done, that I was told they would be at my house Tuesday and that nobody bothered to confirm what I needed done. They got the job done but did little to no clean up in my yard (there are huge plies of saw dust in the yard), they broke the latch to our gate, and tore up the wood lining our driveway. After receiving some good comments from friends and family, I called Timmy's asking for a quote. I asked if it is possible to get a window maybe 6 hours to be home when they quoted as I have a few questions. I was told no, I needed to give them the info of what trees I want trimmed or removed. I stressed to the rude customer service person I was not sure of the type trees on my property when she asked, but did tell her they had leaves which was one of her questions. I once again asked if I could not get a window or rough idea when they would be there and would leave work to be there. I was told if I want an appointment it would be a cost of $279. I stressed I only needed a few minutes to ask my questions, and mentioned a large tree like bush and her comment was "rudely" we are not landscapers we do not cut bushes. I was not looking for a landscaper just some trees cut. I have called several other companies and amazingly they will come out for a free quote. I have been impressed by how courteous every else has been, Shocked at the negative treatment from Timmy's when my daughter had a great experience. Do NOT purchase firewood from them. During the cold snap we had, we saw their ad on Craigslist for wood. I would attach it as a picture, but am not able to. We were told that a cord of wood would be delivered on Monday, which was a holiday - Martin Luther King day. My husband had the day off because of the holiday & called around noon to find out when they would deliver. They said that they would deliver the next day, while nobody was home and to just leave $200 someplace for them. So we put $200 in an envelope and told them where to find it. They dumped the wood in the driveway & that was fine. The problem was the wood itself. It was not cut for firewood! There were stumps, wedges, mangled knots & splits where branches shot off. There was no way to stack this mess because of the odd shapes & sizes and no way to even get most of it in the wood stove because of its size. There is no way to split most of it because of the odd shapes - you can't stand the wood on end to split it. This is wood from trees that were removed from other people's homes. My husband called to see if they would come back and pick it up saying that if we would have been home when they brought the wood over, we wouldn't have taken it. My husband even told Tim that they could keep some $ for time of delivery and pick it back up. Each time my husband called Tim, he said he would call us back. He never did. Now we are stuck with these HUGE wedges, stumps & odd shapes of wood. This wood could be used in a campfire, but won't fit in a wood stove or fireplace. I wish I could attach photos. My husband is working on a video with the original ad, and the wood that was delivered. When it is done, I'll see about putting a link to it on here. Had a HUGE residential sycamore removed this week. Here's my review from start to finish: Nick (on the phone) set everything up, from appraisal schedule to tree removal. He was VERY personable and efficient! I run a tutoring business from my home, and Nick even worked around that concern with ease! Tim, the owner, showed up to provide an estimate when he was scheduled, and I agree with other reviewers that he is brusque and not exactly personable. Oh well. I wasn't looking for a friend, just an estimate. The estimate came in lower than we expected, having previously dealt on three separate occasions with "Qualitree" - which is also an excellent, but more expensive, choice to tree care in this area. So, I called Nick back and scheduled the tree removal. The crew showed up on time on the scheduled day with 5 crew members! This was a serious job! They had the tree down in about 4 1/2 hours, which is exactly what Tim had predicted. The crew members were courteous, hard working, and really seemed to care about not breaking or damaging anything in our yard. They worked hard to clean up the yard once they were done. Sycamores have seed pods that explode everywhere, but they REALLY tried to leave the yard as neat as possible. That left just the tree stump, and VERY large roots emanating from the stump - out about 8-10 feet - to try to remove. The next day a young man named Tyler came over at 7:30 am. He gave me a call beforehand to let me know he was on his way. We asked about grinding down the roots as well as the stump, and let me tell you, HE DID A THOROUGH AND AMAZING JOB! He worked so long and so hard - in almost 100 degree heat! We were so thankful for Tyler! Tim, please give him a raise! So, the only reason Timmy's Tree Service didn't get 5 stars: (these are little things) Crew members smoking in our backyard (I was worried about my small dog eating the cigarette butts, and I know they would have stopped if I would have mentioned that it bothered me); they had to leave the biggest trunk pieces behind on our driveway for three days because their loader truck was in the shop (an unforeseen circumstance); there were massive divots left in the lawn because huge pieces, especially of the trunk, were DROPPED instead of gently lowered by ropes; and the 4% extra they add to the bill if you use a credit card to pay. That's it. Like I said, fairly small concerns for an overall fantastic job! Excellent company to deal with and I HIGHLY recommend them! read more
