"We do what we say"... that is the statement that Parker Tree Service decided to put on the side of their trucks for the world to see. This should really be the most simple and basic strategy of ANY business. its really not a miraculous thing to say, and is definitely not something that should set you above your competitors. Basic business... do what you say you are going to do, and do it. In my experience Parker Tree Service's employee Chad apparently didn't get informed of the motto. I called Parker Tree Service on Sep. 17 to get a bid to prune up my trees. Chad showed up and we had a good conversation about my trees. I have nearly a decade of previous experience as a professional applicator. I know trees fairly well and felt Chad was in the know and i trusted him. He was in no hurry to move on and he was good at bullshitting, it was a great experience. Having said that, I can see why its hard for him/them to keep a schedule. when he was done at my place he went over to my neighbors house and talked to them for quite a while... really nice of him, but you see why it could be hard to do what you said to your other customer that is booked for the next appointment when Chad has no sense of time? On October 1 I sent Chad a text and asked him if he had a chance to get a bid worked up for me. He told me right then that he had it almost done and was going to be sending out bids the following day. Nothing.... So I patiently waited. October 17, I texted Chad. "Hey buddy just following up on that bid" READ notification showed up on his side..... no response. so I waited one hour and texted him again.... READ notification but no response, texted again... same thing. He was clearly not following the motto, and was ignoring me. So I called the office. the person that answered was friendly and seemed to be appalled about the situation. she said someone would call me about this. I am guessing it was a manager or owner maybe that called me. She had no concern about the situation. She told me that Chad had been sick a while ago, and was definitely not ignoring me. At the same time, or maybe a second before they sent me my bid. So the lady told me "Chad already sent your bid...I can see its sent right here." What a joke. I was looking for a local company who would "Do what they say" but Parker is definitely not the place! Local, yes... INTEGRITY....NO! I told Chad not to worry about it, his company thinks he is the bees knees and he has nothing to worry about. He is a really tree smart guy, but he just cant do what he says and nobody seems to give a shit. As a local business owner I cannot support this kind of lack of customer service. read more

I am so grateful we have someone in our valley with his specialized knowledge. I learned so much from him, and now I have the information I need to help keep my trees healthy. Update to my previous review, I forgot to mention, they don't take credit cards without a substantial service charge. It wasn't a huge problem for me, but they didn't tell me this until after the fact. I was traveling/out of town for work, and couldn't get home to write and mail off a paper check until later in the month. It would have been more professional to explain this part of the billing process during the bidding. Especially when the job is four figures. read more

After looking for local tree pruning services throughout the Treasure Valley, I'm happy to say we stuck with the local know-how of Parker Tree Service. They actually were in the middle range regarding their pricing for the services we needed (having recently bought a property that was built in the 1960's in the West Bench) but were at the top of their knowledge on local trees, pest issues that affect trees as well as their ability to identify the types of trees we have. The previous owner had taken good care of the landscaping, but didn't tell us when the last time our 60+ year old oaks were given a haircut. The crew came out and between their climbers and a boom truck were able to reach all of our tall oaks as well as cut down and stump grind some of the lesser trees that weren't doing as well. Our property looks better than ever, the trees are happy and the crew was super professional and knowledgeable - discussing what needed to be done before they started and even made sure we were out of harm's way as they were doing the trimming! We'll definitely be calling them in 5-7 years for another tree trimming session! read more

We made an appointment with Parker Tree Service to come out to give us advice on trees we had planted. I informed Lisa that we had to be at work by 10 am, was told that Chad would show up at 9 am Thursday 6/27 (today), and that would be enough time for their rep, Chad, to help us. When no one showed up by 9:30, I called, and was told that Chad would be over as soon as possible which, unfortunately, made it impossible for us to be at home. I also asked why someone did not have the courtesy to call us to tell us that Chad was running late, and to maybe make a new appointment. Lisa responded the she would "call Chad and cancel the appointment". We do not recommend Parker Tree Service. read more

I'm giving four stars because of the excellent customer service I received from Parker Tree Service. There was one little glitch, but we had a happy ending. First of all, the office staff is super professional and friendly, and they communicate VERY well. They make sure to keep you informed so you know when people will be at your home, and the crew shows up when they say they will. That's great. Their performance is top-notch. Originally, I was NOT happy with the way my tree was trimmed. I wasn't home when the work was done, and when I came home my huge, beautiful blue spruce looked lumpy and lopsided. I thought I could ignore the shape and just live with it, but after a month or so of gritting my teeth, I contacted the office staff to tell them I wasn't satisfied. They IMMEDIATELY contacted me, sent someone to look at the tree, and came up with a plan to fix it. They didn't make excuses or try to convince me that the tree looked fine the way it was. They agreed that the work wasn't their best, and sent a crew within a very short time for a do-over. I felt like they made my tree a priority in their schedule, and took care of it right away. The way they handled my feedback was truly above and beyond. Now, my tree looks so much better, and I am really happy with it. I'm so impressed that this company listened, and that they stood behind their work. There are very few companies I have encountered that will take responsibility and really make something right. I appreciated the fact that my feedback mattered, and that now my tree looks amazing. read more

This is the WORST company ever!! We hired these assholes in June to prune our trees as we have a large property and were prepping to have a fence installed. Dan is the foreman and is the most disrespectful and lying ass ever!! They claim that they "Do what they Say" which is bullshit!! Their idiot employee was using a skid steer to clear branches and in the process ran over and broke our water spigot that was raised up from the ground. They knew what happened and NEVER paid for the damage. Dan also without any authority whatsoever charged us an extra $200 when the dipshit with the skid steer did one run along the property to clear some branches. We spent a small fortune with this horrible company and he had no authority to charge us. The attitudes were atrocious and one of the asshole workers actually drove onto my neighbor's driveway across the street with heavy equipment to turn around when leaving because he was so fucking lazy not to simply drive the other direction out of the subdivision that he made tire marks on their driveway and we live in quite an affluent development. I had to go to the neighbors' home to smooth over the situation. Also, they practically butchered our trees! Needless to say, I would never use these asses again! We were treated horribly and overcharged!! As other reviewers have mentioned, they purposefully do not tell you that they do not accept credit card payments without an extra charge!! read more

Justin came to my house to walk around my property and provide advice and an estimate on work I needed to have done. He was very kind and patient and explained what my options were. He provided an itemized estimate very quickly, and I was able to select my top priority work. There is still some work I chose not to do right away, but I was very VERY satisfied with the work the crew did and plan to ask Parker tree service to do the other tree work next year. The crew came to my house on time on the day the work was scheduled. It seemed to me that the crew loved trees as much as I thought Justin, the owner, does. I'm something of a tree-hugger, myself, so this appeals to me. They explained what they planned to do, which was exactly what Justin and I agreed to (a relief to me as it's not always the case that the contractor's crew understands the work the same way I do). The work was done in a timely manner, the crew was polite and they cleaned up completely. They were very careful with the stump grinding, I had fairly new plantings near a couple of the stumps and there were able to work around them, in one case he moved one small plant and replaced it after the stump was out. My trees look great now. You can trust that these guys respect your garden and your trees and your landscape. read more

Justin came to bid the job within 24 hours of my first call and then his team took out some bushes and trees that had been on property for at least 40 years. The roots and rock overlay kept me from actually hiring anyone for the last two years; I knew it would cost a fortune and take lots of time to do it right. Parker did it all in a single day and charged an amazingly fair price for the work. His crew was efficient and conscientious about dealing with existing water lines and under ground electricity. They did an amazing job! All the workers were kind and very professional. They cut down an old dying tree infested with bugs from my backyard. They had to access it through my neighbors yard, with permission, and left their yard spotless. When they came back to remove the stump, well it looked as if nothing was ever there! I hired them to remove a tree because they did a satisfactory job the first time out. Not this time! They left a big chunk of root in my lawn so that it is bumpy to mow over. They also left an excessive amount of wood chips. My mom and I hauled out 10 bags of wood, and the wood chips are still too much for grass to grow. I will have to remove much more before I will be able to sow grass seed. I would not recommend this company. read more

We recently purchased a home in Middleton that had a large yard with numerous trees that had been long neglected, some dead and others overgrown. Being new to the area I went to yelp and looked up 5 star tree services and came across Parker with all their great reviews. What the heck at least give them a call and have them come out for a free quote. Steve, the gentleman that came out for quote was so nice and so knowledgeable and willing to share the knowledge that you immediately felt confident in his service. The price was very acceptable to us and they worked with our schedule to get the job done. On the chosen day 4 men showed up, each introducing themselves and then Matt, the foreman, went over what they would be doing. Once that was done they got to work straight away. My husband and I watched in ahh of how fast and organized they all worked. Each person knew their job and knew when to jump in and help the others as needed. They worked as a phenomenally will oiled machine. They were fast and efficient, way beyond my expectations. When they were done and ready to leave everything was very clean and tidy and all the trees looked beautiful. It was a pleasure to meet such wonderful guys like them. Matt, Blake, Randy and Zack you guys will always be on our friends list, awesome, awesome, awesome guys. Parker Tree Service is a wonderful company to do business with starting with the office people, who were so nice and helpful, and finishing with the field crew. The owner himself came out to give the free quote and spent over 45 minutes giving me advice on other trees on the property that I planned on trimming up myself.
