Every time I walk in, I am greeted with warm smiles and a very positive attitude! There have been moments when I had to strategically plan out my mornings just so I could make it in time before all their pastries were sold out. This bakery is definitely my guilty pleasure, and I wish I could gatekeep how good it is--but more people need to know about it! The area is very cute and they keep it clean and esthetically pleasing.

The dining room was almost empty when I walked in, and no one greeted me. They were playing some Kanye west music behind the counter so I thought there'd be some livelihood but... there wasn't. One of the younger employees who took my order was fine but you could tell he didn't want to be there and the person at the register seemed like they didn't really want to be there either. They weren't outright rude, but the interaction definitely wasn't welcoming and both of them mumbled and spoke so low, I had to ask them both multiple times what they were saying. I ordered two donuts and a cup of coffee, which came to $7.35. For what was a Keurig coffee with basic shelf-stable creamer, it felt overpriced. On the positive side, the donuts were good. You can tell they're handmade, and they had a nice taste. They were definitely the highlight of the visit. Maybe my expectations were too high because of all the recommendations I'd heard, but I expected a Saturday morning at such a well-known donut shop to have more energy and atmosphere. Instead, it felt surprisingly underwhelming and lacked the welcoming vibe I was hoping for. Overall, the donuts were solid, but nothing about the experience made me eager to come back. I don't regret trying it, but I also don't really understand the hype.

Get here early because they do sell out of popular donuts; however, they continue to make donuts throughout the day. As other Yelpers have noted, donuts are a bit pricey (about $6/donut), but they are also pretty big donuts. You can get specialty coffees and tea here too. I ordered a cedar chai latte. I was told some people think there is cedar in the chai, but that's not why it's called that. It's the name of the tea company. The chai was really rich and worth stopping in for a visit on its own. There is also plenty of parking just off Grand Boulevard.

The owner was very kind and showed off the doughnuts and his coffee machine. It is clean and professional! Clearly looks like a nice product. The doughnuts look great! However please note it is about $6 a pastry. So this isn't a pick up a dozen. Also they are made with brioche dough. So they are heavier vs the soft puff one may be used too. In general they were good. I guess a more European take on a pastry. Not as sweet and probably better ingredients. They all ate a bit dry though. Not sure if this is by intent. It was good. But at $5-$6 a doughnut it should be dreamy I think. Would I go back. Maybe. I probably would prefer a maple bar from doughnut parade or fluffies or such. I want them to succeed and maybe the coffee will be their jam. The owner talked it up. And 1 doughnut may be ok. Also there is no sitting. This is a take and go operation. Clearly great people. I hope it works out. But the price and product was lacking for me. But go try them out!

I had another Caramel Macchiato and was pretty good, what I really liked is that it was at a drinkable temperature and was able to slam it. It wasn't overly sweet and was a really good cup. cup. They include a 13th donut so I got an extra blueberry. The customer service was great, the lady behind the counter was very friendly and helpful even offering the bakers dozen. The custard filled donuts tasted like they were made in old oil and were not filled all the way. All of the old fashioned were under cooked with raw dough in the middle of the donut. The apple fritters were also under cooked in the middle, the edges were good but the middle was gross. We were told that their best baker had made the donuts which is unfortunate because they must have been having a really bad night. Would not recommend unfortunately.

I live in Spokane. Always thought The Scoop was kind of mid, but I had a friend in town who wanted…read moreice cream so we came tonight to get some. There was a long line, but not too bad. I could tell there was still plenty of time to get a scoop before 8PM. At 7:43 PM, one of the workers came out from behind the counter and told about 10-15 of us in line that we would have to leave because they close at 8. She was very kind about it, and she kept saying "I hate having to do this," but it made absolutely no sense. She arbitrarily split the line, and decided some people could stay, but said the rest of us (5 girls ahead of us, and 7-8 people behind us) had to go. Mind you, the girls in front of us and our group were ALREADY IN THE SHOP. Everyone looked really confused, understandably. I've literally never had this happen to me before. I held up my phone to show the worker the time, and I said, "Its only 7:43. We have 17 minutes before closing." Others said, "but we're already in the shop" or "but we've been waiting in line for a while." None of this made any difference. We all still had to leave. Even though there was plenty of time to get everyone ice cream. And god-forbid they have to keep working until 8:05 or 8:10 to make sure patrons who waited in line could get ice cream. What kind of shop does this?? How is this acceptable? "Bad customer service" puts it mildly. I could spell out a million other better ways this could have been done. Do better, Scoop. Spokane already struggles in the ice-cream shop department. Please be a part of the solution, not the problem.
