Chicken Tenders and fries.
Michael P.

Not a ton of options in Clare so we tried this out. Had appetizer of onion rings and for my meal I had the chicken tenders and fries. Onion rings were not made fresh per order neither were the chicken tenders or fries. Was a little disappointing. Overall was an ok lunch.

Friendly wait staff and good meals. They were very busy but it didn't affect service and wait time for our food. Their homemade corn chips are thin , crispy and tasty. We will definitely stop in again when we come to Clare.

Tavern burger - AWESOME!!! Need I say more!? Probably the best burger I have ever had!! But what really put it over the edge was the server, she brought my hubby's third beer (don't judge!) and didn't bring the frosted glass but remembered before he took his first sip Ok, so back to the burger-AWESOME!!! I had the bruschetta plate which was good but that burger-AWESOME!! I also had a Blueberry Crush beer which was very tasty Come to Clare and get this burger... I'm not kidding, do it!!

Good food. Good service. The three of us selected a few different items and all of us were happy with most items. The only exception was the chicken jalapeno wrap. The chicken was very dry and not very tasty . All other items were excellent. Courteous prompt service provided and we all agree that we would return another time.

First of all, let me start by saying our server, Peyton, was a gem. I wish i could rate the server separately from the establishment. She was the best thing about this place. Now, for the review. My mom and dad brought the whole family here for a nice evening out. Unfortunately, the entire experience was disappointing. It started with having to move from the bar side to the restaurant side where it was extremely warm. We asked (and they accommodated our request) to be moved back to the cooler bar area. We ordered drinks and my mom's Lemon Drop Martini tasted like pure lemonade. When she asked about it, the person we assume was the owner got very defensive., but she did make mom a different drink. Next comes the meal. They forgot my side salad. Peyton was quick to make it right. Sadly, my medium steak came out well done. They remade it, but everyone else was finished by the time it came out and it had a strange flavor. The mashed potatoes were teaming with garlic that overwhelmed the palette. It was $20 wasted. I should have followed my instincts and ordered something else. Everyone else said their food was okay but nothing remarkable. (Note: the stuffed jalapeños were very SPICY.) The icing on the cake was the chipped dishes they served my husband's food in. I took a photo and mentioned to the family I'd share the photo on Yelp. Well, that had the owner come in hot and heavy. She was appalled that we would dare share a review on Yelp. She ran over shouting, "Is there ANOTHER PROBLEM over here?!" She had such a bad attitude we were shocked. She was more worried about the Yelp review than our satisfaction. But here's the thing- if she had approached us in a conciliatory way, she might have diffused things instead of escalating things. It's a shame because this could have been a place to hang out when we come up north. Instead, this was our first and last visit to this establishment.

So we've been in twice now because the food is absolutely exceptional! I have now had the chicken and waffles and the smothered chicken myself and both I would absolutely recommend. The first visit the food came out quick and the service was perfect, except for the fact that the waitress grabbed my beer glass while there was still beer in it and before I was done drinking it... I absolutely HATE it when this happens! It almost made me take my review down to 4 stars. Today for lunch I think our waitress forgot to ring in one person in my parties food... after we informed her it came out quickly! It was quick because a tourist train was in town. Everyone else in my party would agree they've always been happy with their food choices as well! We will absolutely be back when we are in town!

Tavern Food done perfectly. We were passing through and can't recommend enough. Service was prompt and friendly, although it was not overly busy. Ambiance was very Midwest Tavern, right on brand. Loved it all.

Mac & cheese & Ruben were delicious!! Definitely recommend! Service was good, and quick. We didn't get drinks but all the drinks on menu looks great!

10/10! The atmosphere is cozy, industrial, modern-rustic and chic. The service from start to finish…read morewas phenomenal - Natalie is a fantastic server, so sweet and gave the best recommendations! Appetizer: Japanese Fries Chicken outstanding! The aioli and sweet soy was a great complement to the perfectly cooked, juicy bites of fried chicken. Meals: YES, there was just two of us and YES we got three meals, soup and an app. The menu is outstandingly elevated, packed with creativity and flavor profiles. We chose the Venison Chili to start and wow, it was amazing. Our meals were 1. Southern Mac 9/10: not our favorite due to the cheese sauce, but the flavors overall were spot on, noodles perfect, spicy jalapeños and the pickled onion was a perfect touch. 2. Steak Dinner: this is the meal that made me ask who the Chef here is! 100000/10! Most amazing, juicy, tender and flavorful steak I've ever had. I asked for a side of the truffle garlic aioli because I wanted to try it, the steak didn't need a darn thing (although I did take the horseradish aioli home to try and replicate!) The sides were perfect, the veggies and the potatoes - yum. The house made sauces were amazing but for only dunkin' those potatoes - don't ruin a good steak with sauce. Seriously, it's that good. 3. Gyro Lamb Burger: 10/10! The lamb was juicy, the homemade tzatziki was so darn flavorful and the cucumbers were crisp and fresh. Dessert: leftovers, and our delicious drinks from the bar - we didn't have a bite to spare in our stomach's. Hats off to the chef and team who created this menu! We drove almost an hour to come here based on your Google reviews alone and it was worth every second of the long rainy drive! We will absolutely be back. This is a level of service and food you need to tell your friends about.

They were also doing a deal on their mocktails for dry January, which I thought was cool. The menu is pretty varied with lots of options for meat-eaters--I wouldn't come here if you're vegan or vegetarian. Entrees get a bit pricey (their steak frites is $49), but sandwiches are around $15-$18 and come with fries. I ordered the pesto chicken wrap with a side of mac and cheese instead of fries. My friend got the chicken and chorizo nachos and we decided to split them half and half. Our food came out quickly and looked really good! The wrap was tasty but I couldn't really taste the pistachio pesto. The mac and cheese was incredible--super cheesy, perfectly cooked cavatappi noodles, and very flavorful. I'm really glad I upgraded to that and would even consider getting the full entree size in the future. The nachos were pretty loaded, and a generous portion. I liked all the toppings but didn't really taste much chorizo. These would be a good starter for a group. Overall a very good experience and I would come back.

They've got a great mix of pinball machines, old-school arcade classics, and some newer games, so it doesn't feel like a museum, it actually feels alive. You can bounce between games, grab a drink, and just hang out without it feeling forced. What really surprised me though was the food. I expected typical bar food, but they go way beyond that. The brunch is legit, and the menu has some creative dishes that actually feel thought out, not just thrown together. It's the kind of place where you come for the games and end up staying for the food. The staff are super friendly and bring a fun energy without being over the top. It also strikes a nice balance crowd-wise. During the day, it's totally a spot you could bring your kids and let them have a blast, and later on it shifts into more of a social hangout where you can meet locals and vibe. Overall, it's just a really well done arcade bar that doesn't try too hard but still delivers on everything. Definitely worth checking out.

Wait in line, pick a table, a server will eventually arrive... if you want fast service go up to the bar or try another place downtown. Ordered three appetizers for three people worked great. Appetizers in multiples of three. So if you are in a larger party, have fun dividing the portions up. Bone-in Chicken Wings - ordered naked with Franks Buffalo Sauce on the Side for dipping. Asked for ranch for dipping, after two servers finally the "House Ranch" arrived which was premixed Dill Ranch Dressing. Not a good compliment to any of the appetizers. Onion rings were bland, but crispy. Falafel surprisingly great, crispy on outside, fluffy and tender interior, hummus was good. Careful with the allergen notes on the menu, double check with server right away before ordering if you have a severe allergy.

Prost was such a fun Valentine's Day spot for us! It was our first time in, and overall we had a…read morereally great experience. Our server, Tanner, was genuinely kind and welcoming, which made a big difference. The table was set nicely when we arrived -- wine glass and water glass, silverware wrapped with cloth napkins on a side plate, and a candle lit off to the side. It felt thoughtful and perfect for a date night. We split the French Onion Soup to start, and it was delicious. Maybe a little pricey at $12, but it came with lots of cheese and bread (plus bread on the side), so it felt worth it as a starter. My boyfriend ordered a Long Island Iced Tea -- strong, but no complaints there -- and I got cranberry juice. Both drinks came out in the same glassware as the water, styled like cocktails, which I actually appreciated. No weird "different treatment" if you're not drinking alcohol, which is always a plus to me. We also did the Build-Your-Own Board, which was really fun, and Tanner was super helpful in guiding us through the choices. We picked Summer Sausage, Garlic & Herb Soft Cheese, Smoked Gouda, Fire Roasted Tomatoes, and Balsamic Onion Jam. The Fire Roasted Tomatoes were SO GOOD, and I usually don't even like tomatoes. They were soaking in olive oil (I think?), which had great flavor and paired perfectly with the bread and Garlic & Herb Cheese. I also really enjoyed the Balsamic Onion Jam, savory, slightly sweet, and a little goes a long way. Overall, everything tasted great. I was a little disappointed in the portion of Smoked Gouda compared to the soft cheese, especially considering some soft cheeses can retail around $30 per pound. If you're looking for the best value, you might consider a different cheese option. That said, extra bread was only $1, which felt like a great deal for the amount we received. We were honestly getting pretty full and almost couldn't finish it all. We were seated in the cellar area, which was okay, just a little small, and the music was pretty loud. Not ideal for a Valentine's date when you're trying to have a conversation. Random but important: the bathrooms were spectacular. Individual, spacious, very clean, nice sink setup, pump soap, automatic paper towel dispenser, and even a candle lit. Honestly, 10/10 bathroom experience. Overall, it's a really solid date night spot with great service and good food. Just a couple small tweaks (music volume and cheese portions!) would make it even better. We'd definitely come back.
