Been almost 7 years since my last visit to Trails End. Years ago I would stop here with friends after a morning of ATV's on the Leota Trails. Now my son purchased his 1st quadrunner and leaves for the US Army next week. So a good trail ride was needed. After a few hiurs this morning we headed to the bar. Nice easy drive over and being a Thursday early, the place was not busy. Nice clean bar with friendly service just as it was years ago. Hamburgs were the special and the boy got one with the housemade sauce and fresh cut french fries. Looked good and he enjoyed it. I opted for beef nachos and they were also good. Went to the restaurant in Harrison, waited 1hr and 20 minutes for our food absolutely horrible service never got my salad with my dinner, air conditioner was broken and hot everyone was complaining about the service. Never ever going back. read more

Horrible, horrible service. It was only because I finally stopped a waitress after sitting in our booth for twenty minutes that we finally got water and were able to order. We thought they were pretty busy, mistakes happen, and let it slide. We ordered potato skins and brisket nachos, figuring they were pretty simple, and finally left five bucks on the table for my Pepsi and left after waiting another 40 minutes to go to Taco Bell and at least get food. It maybe wouldn't have been so bad if we couldn't see the cooks standing around in the kitchen eating a pizza and chit chatting. Do not bother stopping here - the review from six years ago said service was horrible, nothing has changed. Who knows, maybe they just don't like tourists? read more

Once again stopped in for fish dinner at one of the best places around for Friday fish! Ordered grilled cod as it's way healthier than the all you can eat fried cod. Great food and service and if I'm there great music on the touch tunes! read more

I'm pretty sure they make their french fries in an air fryer. I've never seen restaurant fries like that. I got a medium rare burger, and it was without a doubt the most overdone burger I've ever had. My friend got all you could eat fish which when he finally was able to get a second Plate they were room temperature at best. Kind of a charming place though. The food is mediocre at best. read more

Service was horrible. Emma was our waitress couldn't get refill on drinks. Took forever to get fish it was all you can eat and trying to get a second order was an absolute issue. My grandson of 8 was like I'm thirsty there was nothing I could do as I had asked 3 times for refills on drink. The fish was very good and I liked the salad bar. The service at N 1st St Harrison, MI 48625 is ok but it takes forever to get your food and it often comes out overcooked. Not to mention some of the sandwiches only come with 1lb of meat on them which most of us can't eat. It would be nice if they offered these sandwiches with only 1/2 lb of meat. read more

Excellent buffet we went on a Sunday night chicken parmigiana on the buffet for real!!!!!fried avacado brosted chicken ham pizza was awesome it was also on the buffet garlic twists.but the pizza crust was amazing I swear it was like it was slightly deep fried the corn meal on the bottom was a finer grind or something WOW it was good!!!i guess they have a Mexican buffet on Saturday and seafood on Friday. My wife had a hand smacked burger she don't eat much so she took half home we had some running to do and she was worried her burger would spoil in the hot car ...........funny she usually lets me eat it later not this one! read more

Headed in for lunch, great menu, difficult to decide. Chose the Rueben and what a great choice, best Rueben I've ever had! Food orgasm. My husband chose the blue gill special and I heard him moaning too! I overheard the owner Dan telling a cook in training, "I don't want good, they can get good in town, we want better than good'. The food is so much better than good! It's off the beaten path but worth the drive. Excellent food, outstanding service and a great value! Going home in a food coma. This was awful food! Ordered broasted chicken dinner ($15.99) it was deep "over" fried, coating tough as leather, obvious instant mashed potatoes, obvious canned green beans, dinner salad only consists of iceberg lettuce and 3 cherry tomatoes till I asked for cucumber and onion after the cheesy plastic bowl tipped and spilled contents when cutting tomatoes. Husband's perch dinner ($15.99) only 3 small pieces fish, fries, same awful green beans and dinner salad. I could not finish my chicken dinner, took 3 pieces home to my dog after carefully removing this hard leather-wrap skin and bone. Maybe their sandwiches are good (?) , but their prices are ridiculous for the poor quality food served as dinner food. Harrison residents must not know what good food is, for this place to have been recommended to us. Never again. The other reviews left gotta be owners or friends of them, because this place does NOT serve anything close to delicious food. read more

Dont go here unless you want to be ignored, not receive a glass of water for 45 minutes, have the server forget to put in your order and wait 1 hour and 45 minutes to not receive your food and then only be offered a $1.50 discount towards the meal you were waiting on while others at your table were already served and done eating. Not to mention the owner came to the table and stated "If you want free food then go to flint". Informed the owner that he should not treat his paying customers like this and him & his wife (Dan & Becky) processed to tell us to "get the fuck out". The food is always really good. I'm sure it turns into more of a bar later on at night but any time I've been there it's very family friendly. The latest I've been with my daughter is 10 pm. It's always pretty packed but the service is always fast and the wait staff are very friendly. My husband always orders whatever fish special they have and he loves it every time. My whole family can find something they love when we go here and it's one of the only places in this area that everyone in my family is happy when we go there. read more

Stopped in tonight for the first time. Really wanted to hit up a fish fry. Asked around and apparently Trails End is the place to be. We got there around 5:15 and there were only a couple open tables left. By 5:30 the place was packed. The fish was absolutely perfect. The service was great considering how packed they were. Excellent Fish Fry Fridays, which feature either AYCE cod, fries and slaw, or a fried bluegill plate with your choice of potato and a vegetable. The fish is lightly battered -- crispy, not heavy. Crispy fries. Modest beer menu; more liquors than you'd expect for a bar this remote. The village of Leota is in the middle of nowhere -- you have to be highly motivated to drive here . I visited the pub about a month ago. I had a mushroom hamburger. Either I was super hungry, or that was the best damn hamburger ever. My girlfriend and I went back there Saturday night and I ordered another mushroom hamburger. I realized, yes I was super hungry last time and YES this was and is the best DAMN hamburger EVER!!
