Great barbecue! Or the adventurous ones, this is a must place visit. On the premises there is a car museum and a small zoo in the background. There is also a Harley Davidson store right next-door. The menu is very large. Lots of different barbecues mac & cheese choices. There's even a large variety menu for kids of all ages. Food is served hot, very flavorful in large portions - so come hungry. For our large party, our server was great she attended all necessary matters and insured that we were having a good and memorable time. There is a small antique store on the other side of the restaurant bathrooms. It's a definite must walk-through also.

Such a fun place to stop for lunch! The food was delicious, the service was great! The bbq sauce was also great tasting! Very busy and fast paced but such a friendly atmosphere!

Timeline and Doc's is the perfect roadside tourist attraction. Animals, food, antiques and whimsical and wonderful creations combine to offer many amusements to all ages in this Harley Davidson dealership/restaurant/zoo. The property has so much to offer there are even maps available to help you see everything. We visited on a cold December Monday, but the sun was shining and allowed us to visit animals, captain pirate ships, peer at birds and even transform into them for a moment. My favorite of the metal creations was an enormous stone and steel dragon that you can ride and rock as though you are flying. Lunch at Timeline BBQ was great. We enjoyed the pork tangler burger, and many kids meals. While we waited for the food we perused the antique mall that has many stalls and lots of interesting things. I'm not a motorcyclist, but the building also has a sort of museum of early 1900s bikes. We're not from WI so we may never be back, but whether you're local or just passing through, you shouldn't miss this place!

Museum free entry lots of great stuff

A+++++++ make the drive you will not be disappointed pulled pork / brisket dinner awesome!

The food wasn't impressive at all. Ribs and brisket lacked flavor and both were tough. Ribs weren't even cooked enough. Not sure if they used any seasoning on the meat-- maybe they put it all on the pizza fries. The cheese curds and salad were decent tho. They should perhaps take the BBQ sign down because this does not qualify as a BBQ spot in a Texans opinion. Server was nice tho!

Come for the atmosphere and service. A must stop location on the highway. Daily specials. Check out the museum of cars, bikes, memorabilia and antique mall. Awesome!!

Great food, great service. Best root beer. My family and I love coming to this place over and over again. The root beer is the best. Animals are great to pet and see. And you always get the chance to see doc, and it's always great to talk to him, as he will teach you like a normal person, as a buddy, as a friend. I hope to keep coming here for many years to come!

Best BBQ in town. I tried Kansas BBQ which is suppose to be one of the best. And I believe WI has the best BBQ at north. Check out the plate, we couldn't try the chicken they were out, but we were impressed with the brisket. Captain Morgan and Doc's Original are the best sauces!

This is a huge restaurant with full bar, multiple taps of beer and an equally huge menu. My group was coming back from a non-high fence hunt. We were cold and hungry. I suggested a drink and some pizza. From the moment we pulled into the large parking lot, it was one surprise after another. The huge lodge building that serves as the restaurant, gift shop, bar and music venue was decorated nicely for Christmas. It was quite the sight. As we approached the building, we heard the sounds of live music. Inside, the crazy display of trophy deer mounts was almost dizzying. It literally took a couple of minutes to adjust to all the hustle, bustle and visual effects. The next surprise was the huge menu. If you can't find something to eat, you aren't hungry. All the items on the menu sounded delicious and the food being picked up by patrons at the counter looked great. We had second thoughts on having pizza when we saw all the fish fry options and other menu choices. However, we ordered pizzas and got our buzzer; to let us know when our pizzas were ready. We went around the corner and orders drinks from the bar. Wherever we were in the establishment, helpful staff gave us the information and assistance we needed. Our wood fire pizzas were really tasty. We preferred the Hot Honey Elk Pepperoni Sesame over the Meat Lovers but both were solid choices. Personally, I wasn't a huge fan of the sauces, but the crust was good and the toppings were ample. Overall, I need to return to try more of the menu (thinking steak). The prices seemed on par with similar establishments, the drinks were reasonable and the service was good. Definitely will add a trip back during a future "up north" excursion.

We chose the patio, which ended up being one of the highlights of the visit. It was clean, comfortable, and well shaded, with a few yard games available that gave the space a fun and relaxed atmosphere. Service started off decent but unfortunately declined as the evening went on. Food took an unusually long time to come out, and to the server's credit, she recognized the delay before we even brought it up. She apologized and mentioned that a manager would be stopping by to speak with us. Unfortunately, that never happened, and service continued to deteriorate from there. We started with the nachos and cheese curds. The cheese curds were actually quite good. Crispy, flavorful, and probably one of the stronger items we had. The nachos were decent, though nothing particularly memorable. As for the BBQ, it was unfortunately pretty underwhelming. Especially considering BBQ pricing tends to come with expectations around quality and portion value. The ribs were the biggest disappointment. They were so dry they were nearly inedible, with meat crumbling apart from being overcooked. No amount of sauce could bring them back. The jalapeño cheddar sausage had a good texture, but flavor wise it was just okay and leaned overly salty without much depth. My side salad was forgotten entirely, and the cornbread, while having decent flavor, was very dry. The burnt ends also missed the mark. Rather than having the bark and caramelized texture you typically expect, they appeared to be stewed in BBQ sauce, leaving them mushy and overly sauced instead of smoky and textured. One bright spot was the BBQ sauce selection. There were several options, and they were tasty with enough variety to complement different meats. Overall, this feels like a place with good potential and a really pleasant setup, particularly the patio. I'm not sure if we caught them on an off night, but between the slow service and inconsistent food execution, the experience didn't live up to expectations. That said, I'd consider giving it another try in the future because the foundation is there.

Here's what I got: Armadillo eggs: 4.2/10 - really disappointed in these, dry & flavorless coating, and not much flavor on the inside, brisket was bland and there was no flavor burst from biting in. Barely tasted the cream cheese. Came on a good bed of onion strings though. Sat Dino Rib: 7.3/10 -- Really cool they do these on Saturday's and although they look awesome you'd expect better fat rendering/melting for the time cook. Wasn't fall off the bone but decent tenderness. Flavor wise good pairing with their sauces but not really worth the price. Wings (nashville): 8.1/10 -- probably best thing they have, texture & size are great. Got some spicy garlic sauce on side, that flavor is probably the best. The nashville rub is also good but could have more flavor. Mac & Cheese: 7.6/10 -- creamy & solid but nothing out of ordinary for Wisco. Good mac. Coleslaw: 7.8/10 -- Good creamy texture, pretty good slaw, on the sweeter side. Sauces: 8.2/10 -- I really liked their sauces actually, spicy garlic, mustard & pjs were my favorite, made the whole experience a lot better. Their cayenne ranch is great too. Cornbread: 7.5/10 -- solid taste but a little too crumbly. One dino rib, 2 sides, 6 wings and armadillo eggs ran me $60. Even in most major cities I've gotten far better bang for my buck on BBQ.
