Stopped by this iconic Harley establishment for lunch. Like many places somewhat understaffed. Had the grilled cheese brisket sandwich which was disappointing. Brisket dip sandwich was pretty decent. It's a funky place with lot of "thrift store " stuff. Give it a try. Just not for me. read more

This is a hard place to not notice when you drive by. Great job of roadside advertising! There are a number of attractions located in this campus, but the only part I've spent time at was the restaurant (which is also connected to a small motorcycle museum and also an antique mall). The restaurant has a motorcycle theme. (Think more historical/museum than biker bar). Food is pretty good and the soup is excellent. I've had the Chicken Dumpling and the Chicken Booyah and loved them both. Pretty good sized menu with many choices from salads, sandwiches, BBQ, pizza, fish and Steak Dinners. Great barbecue! Or the adventurous ones, this is a must place visit. On the premises there is a car museum and a small zoo in the background. There is also a Harley Davidson store right next-door. The menu is very large. Lots of different barbecues mac & cheese choices. There's even a large variety menu for kids of all ages. Food is served hot, very flavorful in large portions - so come hungry. For our large party, our server was great she attended all necessary matters and insured that we were having a good and memorable time. There is a small antique store on the other side of the restaurant bathrooms. It's a definite must walk-through also. read more

You can't miss Doc's as you're on your way to Green Bay; I've seen it for years but never stopped in, clearly because I didn't know what I was missing out on. My group of four stopped for a late lunch on a Saturday and while it was busy, it didn't take too long to get seated at a booth. Our waitress was friendly and did a great job the entire time. My sister ordered the sliders, my mom and brother-in-law each had the sloppy joe sandwich, and I went with the smothered tenderloin steak sandwich. All I can say for the others is that they raved about how flavorful their food was and how much they enjoyed it. I was happily surprised that the tenderloin in my sandwich wasn't shaved (seems like 80% of the places in this state shave the damn meat), and the steak was cooked medium so it was super juicy and had amazing flavor. We plan on going back in another month or two, it was that good. Aside from the food, the entire Doc's area contains a gift shop, ice cream shop, antique store, and a classic car and cycle museum. For the littles, there is a petting zoo and pirate ship. Lots to see and do, so give yourself time to enjoy it all. read more

Timeline and Doc's is the perfect roadside tourist attraction. Animals, food, antiques and whimsical and wonderful creations combine to offer many amusements to all ages in this Harley Davidson dealership/restaurant/zoo. The property has so much to offer there are even maps available to help you see everything. We visited on a cold December Monday, but the sun was shining and allowed us to visit animals, captain pirate ships, peer at birds and even transform into them for a moment. My favorite of the metal creations was an enormous stone and steel dragon that you can ride and rock as though you are flying. Lunch at Timeline BBQ was great. We enjoyed the pork tangler burger, and many kids meals. While we waited for the food we perused the antique mall that has many stalls and lots of interesting things. I'm not a motorcyclist, but the building also has a sort of museum of early 1900s bikes. We're not from WI so we may never be back, but whether you're local or just passing through, you shouldn't miss this place! read more

6pm on a Friday night, not too busy. Quickly sat down and served drinks within 6 minutes. I had my soup within another 3, and then we had our dinner in about another 7. RAPID fast. Brisket sliders were really good with the sweet and smoky sauce. Tender, hot, and with a nice cool side of good, sweet coleslaw (1$ extra, but it's a good sized amount). Wife had the burger sliders and said it was one of the best flavored burgers she's had in a while. Fries were fresh cut and we asked for them extra crispy. Delicious! She ordered a mackinaw island fudge cone and I had the salted cashew caramel sundae. Rich, creamy ice cream, but what else would I have expected? It's Wisconsin! Amusement park, Outdoor Power Equipment, Motorcycle dealership, Museum, gift shop, Etc., combination with an attached ice cream parlor, bar, and BBQ restaurant situated on a busy state highway. We came for the BBQ since a previous visit and word on the street made this the place to go. After an hour and a half drive to get here, we wer among the first few tables to be seated for the day. Service was fast and friendly, the decorations included all things Harley related, with fascinating detail. We ordered the senior special quarter rack of ribs at $14 each. The presentation of the ribs popped the bubble. Helen was served 3 ribs that were very meaty, likely grossing close to 7 or 8 ounces with the bone, my quarter rack of ribs was closer to 3 ounces with the bones. The disparity was unsettling. They offer a half dozen different sauces that were quite tasty, but didn't fill the gap. Helen gave me one of her ribs to ease the pain; it had more meat on the bone than all three presented to me. We saw this place on the way to Green Bay and said we'd stop in the next day on our trip back home and we're very happy that we did. Hands down the very best mushroom and swiss burger I've had since moving back to the US in 2019. The food wasn't impressive at all. Ribs and brisket lacked flavor and both were tough. Ribs weren't even cooked enough. Not sure if they used any seasoning on the meat-- maybe they put it all on the pizza fries. The cheese curds and salad were decent tho. They should perhaps take the BBQ sign down because this does not qualify as a BBQ spot in a Texans opinion. Server was nice tho! read more

There is a lot going on in this place as far as decor. The owner has custom art pieces made of all sorts of stuff scattered throughout with different collectibles and memorabilia. The staff was super friendly and polite. The food was great. I got a cup chilli that I would say was the best most flavorful chilli I have gotten in Wisconsin. The pulled pork was smoky and moist, the ribs were tender but stayed on the bone no sauce needed, and the brisket was moist tender and delicious. Just so happened that we sat next to the owners. They were very nice and told us about some of their road trips. Great place will stop again and maybe next time checkout the museum also. read more

Great food, great service. Best root beer. My family and I love coming to this place over and over again. The root beer is the best. Animals are great to pet and see. And you always get the chance to see doc, and it's always great to talk to him, as he will teach you like a normal person, as a buddy, as a friend. The bar food is okay, otherwise it's overpriced for the extremely poor quality of the cooking. The chicken sandwich had dry chicken but the bun was falling apart. The chicken was laid on a bed of the soggiest contamination station lettuce you've ever seen. The fries were surely last night's. I dumped The "steamed" vegetables out of their ramekin to find they were steeping in oil, and they hid my contamination station lettuce at the bottom of my salad. The bartenders must just open drinks b/c when I asked for a skinny margarita they said they don't have any. Like no duh, that's why you make one. After I offered the recipe, all I got back was tequila & soda. The servers are really nice. That's what the second star is for. A $70 lunch later, we were left wondering what we ordered, and left feeling like we just wasted our money. read more

If it were your mother at the timeline saloon with a group of 13 folks meeting for a 64th class reunion, would it be upsetting for you if she didn't even receive the meal (as in no meal at all) that she ordered? Come here quite often. The ribs aren't the best I've had, but they are ok. Gets expensive though when I go shop at Doc's next door when finished, and my wife checks out the antique stuff on the other side. read more

Ate here on 7/20 with my husband and friends for lunch. Smells were great. Food was marginal. We had the Thursday rib special, the burnt ends sandwich and the brisket sandwich. We all upgraded to the side salad for an extra $2 (skip it... iceberg lettuce and NOT worth it). - Ribs were meh. Not great, not terrible but $$$. - Brisket sandwich was chunks of dry fatty meat. It was missing the coleslaw as described on the menu. Lacked any taste and flavor. Would never recommend. - Burnt ends were full of sauce. Hard to describe other than very disappointing. - menu NOT clear that ice tea is not free refills. We paid for 3 teas and 5 refills... server never mentioned it, and gladly offered us refills. This was my first time here and I loved it! A couple girlfriends and I went there today and when they told me they were famous for their BBQ I couldn't get "rack of ribs" out of my mind; I had to have it, and I wasn't disappointed. OMG! the 1/2 rack was Huge! Lots of meat. They also give you a 6pk of different BBQ sauces to try. Kylene was our server and she so friendly and helpful. I will definitely be back again. Wisconsin is not known for BBQ. Unfortunately, places like the Timeline Saloon & BBQ are not going to improve our state's status in the world of BBQ. I will say that I enjoyed my lunch plate (brisket and beans with "Texas toast"). And my wife did enjoy her pulled pork plate. But, to use a baseball analogy, the Timeline Saloon & BBQ is competing for a place in the "rookie league," and as everyone knows, very few make the big show. I doubt that the Timeline is capable of the upper minor leagues. The meat was fall off the bone tender and had a subtle smoke taste. But is was also somewhat soft and mushy -- definitely lacking any of the burnt edges and crispy bark as evidence that it spent hours in a real smoker. Personally, I liked the bowl of baked beans with chunks of pork better than the meat (even though the beans seemed to be out of the can instead of soaked and slowly cooked). The toast was generic white bread, but necessary with the plate. The rather ordinary sauces seemed to be "out of the jar." Instead of six selections, I'd prefer one or two genuinely house made sauces. You'll get an OK meal at the Timeline Saloon & BBQ. But if you are looking for "real BBQ" you'll need to keep driving southward. read more

Delicious food and great service!!! We shared an order of cheese curds...lightly breaded with a nice chew and ranch on the side. Then, I had the pulled pork lunch plate with potato salad. For a lunch plate I expected a lunch size portion and I have enough leftovers for another meal! Timeline has 6 different BBQ sauces and one of them is a Captain Morgans sauce. It's DELICIOUS!!! The antique shop is very cute and worth passing through. We didn't go to the motorcycle museum because we had a furry friend in the car that wanted to go home. Maybe next time! Timeline Saloon & BBQ is located next to Doc's Harley Shop. This BBQ joint is a must stop after touring Doc's mecca of Harley shop meets zoo meets antique museum. The large restaurant has bar, booth and 4 top tables. There are some neat finds like the custom fans made of motorcycle parts and the Timeline custom motorcycle that seats 24 1/2 feet long and seats ten. The menu consists is meat centric with grilled to order steaks, burgers and brisket. In true Doc fashion the grill has antique bricks and Harley-Davidson cylinders. I ordered a diet Sun Drop served in glass bottle (which is the best way to consume Sun Drop) and a cup of spicy brisket chili. The chili was excellent and consisted of mostly meat which was super tender and flavorful. The bonus was the queso fried cheese sticks. I had a bite of Jesse's "loaded" mac n cheese and found the toasted cheese and the BBQ sauce to be too sweet for the dish. My dad ordered the brisket dry and had them bring out their fine array of BBQ sauces. There are 6-8 BBQ sauces with the spicy and hickory being my favorites. The berry sauce was definitely tasty and unique too. You can easily make a fun afternoon touring Doc's property, do some shopping and enjoy some BBQ here. They Hog Barn outback is available for renting out and having their delicious BBQ catered. read more

One of the latest additions to Doc's Harley-Davidson, Timeline Saloon & BBQ offers a menu of fare you would expect of any typical barbeque restaurant, however, a few technical miscues prove they have a long way to go before playing in the big leagues. Getting into the business of barbeque is serious, indeed. Tastes being so subjective toward spice and sauce, you need to be on your A-game when preparing and cooking the beef, chicken, and pork. Timeline stays true to Doc's H-D, with much of the hardware and finishing touches to the restaurant decor coming straight from the hog, but the last thing I expected to see on the bar's television screen was an ice skating competition, to be sure. The broasted chicken, roast corn on the cob, cornbread, and burgers all received a thumbs up. The ribs and brisket, however - two mainstays of any true BBQ restaurant - were a bit lacking. The restaurant smokes it's own ribs, and therefore the meat retains a pink coloring regardless of cook time. Unfortunately, the tenderness of the meat left much to be desired, and it was difficult simply to cut it off the rib bones even with the aid of a steak knife. The brisket was done to perfection, but it is general practice to remove the fat from the cut of meat after it's done roasting and before it's served. Timeline failed to follow this protocol, and I was left to pick through my plate in order to remove the 1/2 inch of fat from the then-muddled chips of brisket. If that sort of thing doesn't bother you, then you may give the dish a higher rating. Overall, the food was good, but not extraordinary, and the few miscues proved to be major mistakes in the competitive BBQ market. Even the restaurant's home page spends more time on the merits of the original decor than the mastery of its recipes. A nice enough place to try if you're in the area, but the H-D gimmicks may be more of a draw than the food itself. read more

Utterly surreal biker themed barbecue restaurant attached to a Harley-Davidson dealership. It's part of a kind of biker compound, designed--very effectively I'd say--to make this dealership in the middle of nowhere on Hwy 29 a kind of biker theme park and destination in its own right. There is a 1969 Dodge Charger mounted on a post high in the air, painted up as the General Lee of Dukes of Hazzard fame. It's being chased by a police cruiser, also mounted high on a post. This is Wisconsin, now. So these redneck beacons draw rednecks in like moths to a flame. The Saloon was packed to the gills with big bellied, gray haired, middle aged men dressed in black leather when I was there. Many were accompanied by their leathery old ladies, similarly dressed in biker drag. You get the impression that they probably looked pretty badass 25 years ago, but now they look like your uncle Bill and aunt Louise. There was a 20 minute wait for a table. The interior is made out of motorcycle parts. The barbecue was pretty decent for Wisconsin. I had the pulled pork plate. My brother had the brisket. They have a variety of house barbecue sauces. If you can stand to wait for a table, it's worth checking out, for the twisted factor alone. I liked it. read more

I love going to this place. My favorite is the pulled pork sandwich . It comes with coleslaw to put on the sandwich with many different flavors of barbecue sauce to choose from. Slow service Good food Burgers tastes like they were grilled over a charcoal, which we LOVED! There were 6 ladies working the dining room, but only one seemed to actually be a waitress. The other must have been bussers or hostess....ladies, the food and and the customer is the most important. When you see tables not getting their drinks, food and bills, step in, fill the gap and help your fellow coworkers out! Don't just stand around or make wiping down a table the priority when there are 10 tables ready to be sat yet. We could have been in and out much quicker but we kept having to wait in our waitress.
