Tried the BBQ option. Note this is a chain-type Korean-type BBQ. Not a Korean BBQ--though close. I asked for Go Ju Jang and the host didn't know what that was. Our server (Dylan) did and hooked us up. He was outstanding. The service was fast and the food quality was good. They have their BBQ condiments at a buffet. Unfortunately, they didn't have any mu. Their attempt at cheese corn cheese was not good. I think this is a pretty good place given it's in GB. However, 592 KBBQ is better if you have the time to go there. Big selection of meats and a decent dipping sauce for the hot pot, surprise to see some sauces haven't seen on other places around the country. This is the only korean/hot pot location on green bay and I think i didn't see another restaurant on my quick trip to the city. Service was great and it gets pack quickly on the night. Food comes out relatively quick and have a good selection of broths, I like the chinese herbs broth. Compared to places I have been almost everything is the frozen kind and sliced, so quality is okay, but have things like surf clamp, scallops or beef tongue that a lot of places don't offer. read more

The Hot gets a Green Bay 5. Have I had better? Yes, but in other bigger metro cities and not Green Bay. We stopped in for a birthday dinner. We did both the pot and bbq. Policy is wait to sit until entire party arrives. My son, daughter, and friends loved the atmosphere, the playlist, and anime on the big screen. As another review mentioned, it took a little bit for the initial server to appear. However, once we put in our order everything started rolling. We all had different broths and a plethora of food made its appearance. I enjoyed the Angus steak and seasoned/cooked to taste. My drink was kept full. There are plenty of seasonings and spices to your liking. I'm not sure how another reviewer calls it bland when there is literally an entire section to bring in extra spices. You literally can top off your pot, pay an extra $1 and take it home with you. I'll definitely return for a dinner. Four of the five said if they HAD to choose then they would go pot. For all KBBQ/hotpot fans this one's for you. Coming from LA we love KBBQ. General review for The Hot Green Bay is it was great and met the KKBQ cravings! For being in their soft opening it was a good experience overall. Meat/seafood/veggie options: Good. Most the essentials were there. Sides: there were some staples missing like rice paper, different salads, etc. With that being said they had a good selection and had things like kimchi upon being asked. Apps/Desserts: a good selection of small desserts/apps but was missing special flavor ice cream. Sauce bar: this was new to us, but they had a wide variety of sauces and new things to try. Price: fair price for offerings Hotpot also available, but we had KBBQ only for first visit. You can have both for $5 more. Ambiance is casual but has great space and vibes. We waited 20 minutes before a server even talked to us. Then we waited another 30 minutes before the 2nd serving to arrive. Within that 30 minutes our waiter asked if "we were finishing". Note: 2hrs eating time of total; which means 1hr is already dedicated to waiting. If dinner for two is roughly 75.00 and the customer is doing the cooking; I wouldn't mind trying it again when they've ironed out the kinks. read more

Amazing even though there were some kinks to work out early in their soft opening, the service is outstanding and the food is to die for. Their tom yum broth is so flavorful, and the miso is too. Very fun atmosphere! The food was good and there are so many options! It did take awhile for anyone to come around and clear the table of used plates though. Staff was very nice but was also a bit slow coming to check in if we needed more food or drinks. There's 1 big thing I don't quite understand and that is your whole table has to agree between the pot or the plate and if 1 person wants something else or both then everyone has to get it.... I will say if you want both options only and additional $5 is a great deal! However, if the whole table wants to do the plate style and 1 person wants to do the bowl or both you shouldn't make the whole table do it and pay extra when the table has its own heaters for the pot for each person. read more

We chose BBQ only and had beef short ribs plus spicy pork belly. Both were good. Though not on the menu, they did have lettuce for wraps, garlic, and kimchi. Our service was quite good, especially considering that they just opened and it was pretty busy. I wish they would have had Korean saamjang or even gochujang, but the BBQ dipping sauce was decent. The broth could use more flavor. The appetizers were cold, which was a turn-off. Trays should be kept warm throughout the day. It would be great if they invested in iPads for ordering, so customers wouldn't have to wait on staff. Also, the place is quite pricey for the limited options they offer. You could enjoy a tastier and more affordable hotpot at home, and better, more flavorful BBQ in Appleton. Just sharing my honest opinion. read more

The inside/ decor and table top technology is so cool. The K-pop demon hunters playlist had me singing between every bite. The freshness and flavor of EVERY SINGLE THING we ordered was 11/10. Our server maybe had us waiting 5-6 minutes in between getting meats and asking if we wanted to add anything new which is perfect. Probably waited 5 minutes for what we ordered to be brought out, it was so so organized. I'm from LA so the fact that the whole menu is one price and it's still $30 less than what I was used to paying back home is a STEAL. Some downsides but not enough to get less than 5 stars: I do wish they had rice paper lol!!! I don't love the whole table getting charged for just one person wanting the hotpot experience BUT it's only $5 per person up charge so I'll take it ! Our server was very helpful, and the man refreshing the self serve table, Miguel I believe his name was, was also very nice to us. Absolutely will be back!! read more

Very disappointed in our visit. We've been to multiple other Korean BBQ places in the past and this was definitely our worst experience. We sat for over 20 minutes for our server to come back while she stood around the register talking with 2 coworkers. After we finally got her attention to order more foods she told us that we could just go to the counter to pay as soon as we were done. We barely had any food at that point. The portions were much smaller than any other BBQ location we've visited. Neither the brisket nor the steak had any flavor. My husband and I recently visited "The Hot" and it did not disappoint. Our server was amazing (I forgot his name,) and very attentive and knowledgeable. We have tried hotpot several times in other big cities and feel so fortunate to have a hot pot restaurant in GB now! I tried "The Hot" hot pot/bbq today and was greatly impressed. My friend and I chose the hot pot rather than the BBQ. We were given a choice of 5-6 brothes to choose from which was brought to our table, where we chose from a variety of meats and vegetables that we then cooked in our broth. The veggies were crisp and fresh and best of all it is all you can eat! Our service, especially Devin, was fast, warm and attentive. I highly recommend you try it! read more

Food was good, loved the sauce bar. The server we had seemed like she did not want to serve us. We had to wait a while to re-order dishes. The server never came and checked on us, we had to tell her. She only came to get our dishes and never came back to us unless we stopped her before she left. Even then, she only came back with some of the stuff and by the time we could let her know we were missing 2 kimchi bowls she had already walked away. At the end of the meal, we paid in cash and when we handed her the cash which was almost $200 for 5 people. My dad left the tip at the table because he is old fashion and doesn't quite understand newer technology with electronic tips. We also let her keep the rest of the cash that was left over. Before she could even check the table for the tip which honestly was not deserved considering the service, she gave us a nasty glare and kept staring at us as we walked out the door which made us think that we had done something wrong. Honest review, it was good. Some foods can use more seasoning but overall good restaurant but our service was a horrible experience. read more
