The cable offering is limited and the price keeps going up. I figured out how to live with one box instead of three using my Spectrum app and Chromecast. Returning the no-longer-necessary cable boxes? Ridiculous lack of customer service. Two people painstakingly setting up phones while 22 people wait to pay bills or return equipment. Customer service is just lip service.

I rarely had any issues; the cable didn't go out during storms for instance. It was really the best service and the best cable company I've ever done business with. After a year they raised my rate from about $75/ month to $118. I called and said I would drop them if the didn't go back the original rate. The Rep promised they would lower it back the original rate for a whole year. I checked the account 2 months in a row and they stayed at the original rate. I didn't check again as I assumed they would keep their word, my mistake. I checked back three months later and found they had raised the rate $10/ month 2 months in a row, then $15, the third month. I called to complain and they said there was nothing they could do about it so I cancelled the account and they wanted to charge me for the month ahead as it was the first day of the billing period. I declined to pay and they put the charge into collection. Needless to say a minus 5 stars would be the best I could give these criminals, but since I have to leave a star they get only one. Do not use these morons, their business practices are abhorrent and customer service is the worst, and I'm being generous.

My parents are old and were susceptible to online scams, to which I had to completely rebuild their systems, lock them down, and instruct them on how these things work. That said, I live 20-30 min from them, and playing tech support was always extremely difficult. So I opted to use remote desktop through a secure shell tunnel. Unfortunately, GVTC does NOT give you the ability to configure your own router and create pinholes. Instead you have to ask them to do it and I don't mean to sound insulting, but they were incompetent on how to set it up. They didn't understand very basic networking terms, and after far too many calls and follow ups, I ended up having to pay for a remote desktop service. Additionally, GVTC's fees are high, Internet speeds are slow, the television service is subpar, and their email server did not allow for third party logon (i.e. like Outlook) without going through a complex app approval process. I do not recommend these folks in the least, and if you have no terrestrial based options other than GVTC, go with satellite (Starlink, Hughesnet, or similar). Latency might suck, but believe me that you will prefer it over the poor service provided by GVTC.

Astound internet service was installed Feb 6, 2026. On Feb 26, 2026 they had to come out again due…read moreto an error message repeatedly saying "no internet". The the original installer apparently didn't complete the job and neglected a step. On March 30, 2026, I started receiving the same error message "no internet". This went on for 2 or 3 hours before internet service resumed without constant interruptions of no internet service. Yesterday April 8, 2026, at approximately 2:48pm I started receiving the same message "no internet". I rebooted, shut everything down and restarted. It worked for about 5 min before saying the same thing. So I called Astound and was told that I was going to need someone to come out because something was wrong AGAIN! I've only had Astound for 2 months and a technician has been required twice within that time frame. So everything I've heard about Astound appears to be true! Very Dissappointed!

Avoid this company and their predatory pricing at all costs. They are charging us way, way, way…read moremore than than is reasonable for the insanely low level of service they are providing and when we try to cancel they want nearly 10K in early termination fees. There are much better options. Edit: I contacted customer service prior to coming here. That's where I got through nearly 10k to cancel figure. I don't know how you can justify $500/month for 100mbps service and then charge that absurd cancellation fee, but others need to be warned about you.
