I am so glad coming to Altex Electronics on IH35No. I had brought our priest's headset microphone which has seen better days after so many uses out in the field deployments and Mass celebrations. I've searched through Amazon, eBay, Best Buy and other online store(s) for a replacement wire and adapter unit, but to no avail. Walked in to Altex computers to purchase a router for my business. Walked up to the first salesman I saw and asked him where exactly I could find them. He's there with his arms crossed just with a blank stare, like how dare I talk to him. He then turns and asks another customer that had just walked in, what he can help her with. That's when I believe the manager saw what this employees demeanor was towards me, and very polite asks what He can help me with. Can't believe this business allows their employees treat their customers like that. I don't know really what his problem was? Just know he's Caucasian and I'm Hispanic. Other that that is anybody's guess? A bitter man treating his employers customers with an attitude. Last time I will patronize this place, that's a given! I've been needing to go to this store for a long time now but every time I go by they are closed. I finally looked up there office hours up and come to find out they are only open for 4 hrs from 10am-2pm this is ridiculous and how do they ever expect to make any money? Asked about a battery in a tripp-lite power supply that has a battery back up. The same one they have sold for more than 10 years and the excuses out of the mouth of the employee was phenomenal! Lack of product knowledge and to serve excuses instead of saying "i dont know" would have been more respected as truth then to word vomit. For being the "headquarters" of Altex i am reminded why this location is to be avoided. read more

I'm no computer tech and I'm definitely not tech savvy but I really like this place. I usually go to Office Depot when I need tech stuff, however, I needed something Office Depot didn't carry and they suggested this place, and boy and I'm glad they did. I walked in and was greeted and asked what I needed. I told the guy what I was looking for and he took me to where the item was and explained how to use the item. The guy was very knowledgeable and friendly. I needed something else another time and went here, again they were very friendly and very knowledgeable and they didnt make me weird because I lack tech knowledge. Very unprofessional! They would like you to go to several locations just to meet any manager in regards to employment. Its a bad sign when they are late for the interview and make you wait 20 minutes with salespeople pre interviewing you for no reason. They claim to be all about the customer but it seems like they are about making you wait. To top it all off after being turned off for many reasons I give a follow up call a week later to get the incompetent manager larry, " oh uhhh ummm well um we we went with someone else i think" so no call back? No organization nor common decency or professional courtesy I would think twice before letting Altex plan your next project. Horrible experience. Went in to see about getting two computers fixed because the guys at Best Buy recommended this place. Totally regret going in to the IH-35 location. They made unfair trick with me- I payed for marimba for personal use, they sent me 4 more expensive instruments in order to force me to pay for them also. Ordered 20 pcs of an item to be shipped via ups red. the parts were urgently needed. Received the parts next day but the order was short 1 piece. Cannot complete and ship my project now because of the missing piece. Called Altex , they only offered to credit me 14 lousey dollars off the 64 dollars they charged for the overnight shipping. Stay away , they do not take full responsibility for their own mistakes. Wish I could give them no stars. read more

Quick and simple, just the way I like it. I personally don't like going in to get hardware or cables and be harassed by employees telling me about any deals of the week or following me around. Altex fits me: no one bothers me (other than the initial polite "hello, is there anything I can help you with?"), I can stand there in peace looking over items and researching on my phone, and then quick and easy checkout. I'm sure there service is good too should I ever have questions. But for me, it's exactly what I need. read more

I went to buy parts to build a family members PC and was interested for upgrades for my own pc and when I was asking about processors and ram they questioned me what I was going to use it for and when i said gaming they interrogated me and when I didn't give a satisfactory answer they mocked me and then proceeded to mock me with other employees at the counter within ear shot while I was shopping still. The employee in question is named James and the others I could not see nor did they tell me when they came to "assist" me. Only go there if you know what you want and get out fast before they question and mock you too. TLDR: They are rude and will question everything and mock you for not "knowing as much". read more

Less than impressed. I left my computer with them for an overheating issue. They charged me $70.00, told me that it isn't overheating and said they removed some spyware. Now my Adobe pro doesn't work, Outlook seems to run slower and Explorer as well. I also found they installed a program that will not allow me to uninstall. When I called they said to bring it back and they would look at it, fat chance. thanks for nothing but headaches. read more
