We found Don & his team when our other contractor bowed out due to illness. What a find he is!…read moreWhile we waited for plans to finalize, we asked to commission a painter. He sent the best. We felt every sub contractor Don utilized on our project from that painter through completion was clean, timely and fantastic. We did a small addition (closet, bathroom, laundry room) which required removing a dead tree, retaining walls, doors & windows, roofing, siding, insulation, plumbing electrical and tile work. We never had an issue passing inspection. Since Don lives on the mountain, he was helpful to us as newbies. He recommended product choices based on durability, etc. He offered remedies to the aging home's prior projects that weren't done safely or correctly. When we discovered that a gopher had loaded the existing bathroom wall with tons of dirt, he had a solution and expert to remedy the situation. As other issues arose in our aging home, he offered options without sales pressure as to what would serve us best in the long run, always making the final decision our choice. Safety and durability seem to be top priorities. We appreciated how he guided us through the process. The quality of his workmanship, the timely meetings and billing schedules all made for a relatively seam free small project, even when mountain living & mother nature created challenges.

Dan Kinslow and team did a great job with some home improvements in our Lake Arrowhead house. They…read morejacked up and stabilized our decks, which were slanting due erosion at the footings. They also opened up two doorways between our living room and dining room which gave a much more open floorplan vibe to the house, and allowed us to take better advantage of our great views. They updated a window in our primary bedroom and put a half lite door in a guest bedroom -- both of which let in much more light and access to the views. Dan is savvy about building and trustworthy. Junior and Tony do solid work, they're personable and respectful. Overall we're very pleased with the results and the cost was reasonable. We recommend Dan and team, and we'll be doing more projects with them in the future.

I got a couple of local quotes from businesses off of yelp, but they were so high & unreasonable & couldn't even start my project for months. I reached out to California Builders & they had someone draining my pool within days, after 4 days, my pool went from ruin to what now looks like a resort pool & for super reasonable pricing. Thank you, Chris & your California Builders team, can't wait for our next project. This is the only company you should consider for all of your construction needs, there is nothing they can't accomplish.

I had Chris out for a quote and he was able to facetime and walk through the job site remotely and give an initial bid. I also had him check around the house for any other damage as well as some deck re-enforcements. Chris uncovered quite a bit of dry rot on the backside of the property and it was clear it needed to be addressed asap. Within a week his team had ripped out all the old decking/ledger board/trim and replaced everything up to code. It went so smooth, I also asked him to re-adjust our heavy custom wood doors that have gone out of whack over the years and needed all new weatherstripping. I also had him replace the front light fixtures and build custom replicas of the existing wood mounts. The wall was rebuilt perfectly and looks better than before. I wish I would have done the other side. Overall I was extremely happy with Chris and team, his communication level is A+. He documented everything with photos, texts and calls along the way. The team was on site until completion and everything was wrapped up in a few weeks. My doors are like new again, wall looks great and all the dry rot has been addressed. I'll definitely be using California Builders again.

Ben at Bonafide Earthworks did an outstanding job on our cabin project in Lake Arrowhead. From the…read morebeginning, his ideas were creative, practical, and inspiring. His dedication to his craft and attention to detail were evident throughout the entire process. Ben worked closely with us to develop a plan that fit within our budget, which was very competitive. While our budget didn't allow us to complete the entire project at this time, we moved forward with a portion of the work and couldn't be happier with the results. We fully intend to have Ben return in the future to complete the rest of the project. What really set Ben apart was his commitment to customer satisfaction. He went above and beyond by providing an extra scoop of crushed rock and spreading the excess in an adjoining area that greatly needed it. That level of service was greatly appreciated. On the day the asphalt was installed, Ben and his crew were quick, efficient, and incredibly detail-oriented. Although concrete was initially an option, we ultimately chose asphalt to better meet code requirements for our mountain community, and we're very glad we did. If you're looking for a contractor who is honest, hardworking, skilled, and genuinely cares about the quality of his work, I highly recommend Ben and Bonafide Earthworks. Give him a call--you'll be glad you did.

They completely remodeled my entire backyard and turned it into something I'm proud to show off. They poured new concrete that came out clean, smooth, and perfectly done. Then they installed artificial turf that looks incredibly real and leveled everything out so it flows perfectly. On top of that, they built a beautiful retaining wall and even added a garden area that honestly tied the whole space together and gave it that finished, high-end look. What really stood out was their attention to detail and work ethic. Nothing felt rushed or sloppy--everything was done right the first time. The crew was professional, showed up on time, and kept me in the loop the whole way through. You can tell they take pride in their work, and it shows in every part of the project. My backyard went from basic to looking like a completely new space. It feels bigger, cleaner, and way more functional now. If you want quality work and a team that actually cares about the outcome, I highly recommend Bonafide Earthworks. 10/10 experience.
