As many reviews indicate, the owner is just flat out unfriendly and rude. My wife asked to omit eggs from the taco's and that seemed to be a big deal for him. He reluctantly agreed to substitute bacon but made it very clear that "the tacos come with chicken on them". My daughter also asked for a side of bacon with her pancakes. When we got our food none of the tacos (neither my wife or mine) had chicken on them and my wife and daughter never got their bacon. When we arrived to the restaurant, there were two signs with conflicting messages. One said "Open" while the other said "Closed". Patrons were waiting outside with not much information. We waited about 15 minutes before they opened the restaurant. I think they were getting ready for lunch. They advertise that they serve breakfast all day. However, when we arrived, the gentlemen at the counter rudely told us breakfast was no longer available. When we mentioned that their sign advertises breakfast all day, he shrugged it off. I saw people who had already been served carry in their dirty dishes because they weren't receiving service. We decided to get lunch here anyway because the lunch menu looked good. I got the 1/2 sandwich with a dinner salad. I asked for sourdough bread, but when it was brought to me, the sandwich had white bread. I didn't bother saying anything because there were a ton of people waiting to order and only 2 people working (or so it appeared). The Avocado Delight sandwich was absolutely delicious. The bacon was cooked perfectly--extra crispy--just the way I like it. The salad was good, too. It was lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, and onions. We got our food really fast, but there were multiple people who ordered before us who waited a very long time (upwards of 30 minutes). One guy had to have his sandwich made again because he asked for no cheese (allergy) and there was cheese on his sandwich. Overall, it's an okay place. Go here if you want an argument and the owner will attempt to fight you, literally. We went in at 10:45 and asked to see the menu, the owner gave us a breakfast menu, which said breakfast 7-10:30. We asked if we could see a lunch menu and he said no, over and over, even though we told him we just wanted to see the lunch menu so we could leave and come back after 11:00 when he said lunch is served. Him and his wife refused and his wife (wife tried to justify it) and we told him again we just wanted to see it so we could come back. He told me over and over to get the F$&# out and then he said "You wanna fight the champ?" as he made moves toward me. We decided it wasn't worth a fight just to look at a menu but he seriously wanted to fight. Sweet little historical spot on Main Street Ouray. The food is okay. But only one of the two customer facing employees was wearing a mask, despite the County mandate. Who knows what's going on in the back with the folks cooking up the food, but the person handling the plates had no face covering on. Wearing a damn mask should not be that difficult. Gentleman taking order was brusque. Breakfast sandwich said "pick your meat, cheese, and bread". Since steak and eggs was on the menu, I ordered a steak sandwich and was told "no steak for sandwiches". No big deal so I ordered bacon. Then I ordered bacon and eggs alone for someone in our party who has a dairy sensitivity and was asked "just bacon and eggs?" as if I was asking for champagne and caviar in my coffee. I said "all of this is to go". Sat outside to wait for order and out comes my food in dishes. I politely said "this was to go" and the lady bringing the food said "well the order ticket says for here" as if I don't know how I ordered. I said "well I told him it was to go". She responded in a surly tone, "well it's going to be a while since we have to re-pack it". It wasn't a while, to their credit, and they returned with the order a couple minutes later. Finally, I ordered a cinnamon roll which I did not get. Experience was unpleasant enough that I did not go back and ask for it. Other than screwing up to-go versus here, and surly/brusque attitudes from two employees, and a forgotten cinnamon roll, food was good and fruit was fresh. $40 for two breakfast sandwiches, bacon and eggs, two black coffees, a fruit bowl, and a cinnamon roll. He yelled at our 80yo parents calling them a-holes and kicking them out of his establishment because they asked why he was being so rude to them. This place is too expensive for breakfast! I had the eggs with ham and toast. Eggs were dry, the ham was smaller than the palm of my hand, and it only came with one piece of toast. $13. Wow! Husband had the omelette with bacon. $16. What!? Also ordered a drink and a milk. Bill was $40 without the tip. The guy ahead of me had a family of four. Not sure what all he ordered but his bill was $70 not including the tip. Yikes! We waited in line about 20 - 30 minutes and waited almost 40 minutes before the food came out. I did witness the man at the counter tell people waiting in line at 945 a.m. that he needed to close for 30 minutes and was not taking anymore orders. People in line were clearly frustrated as they had been waiting for probably more than 20 minutes as well. The avocado toast was the best part of the meal, but was over-salted and the eggs that came with were dry.
