We were in Ouray again last weekend. That meant a mandatory stop here for coffee and ice cream, something I doing started years ago. Why, you ask? First, the ice cream is delicious at a great price. My son's single scoop of chocolate was at least 1.5x the size of a Denver scoop at half the cost. He told me they gave him a double. I didn't argue. I smiled and was happy to finish it. Espresso drinks here never disappoint. This time, I tried the Mexican Mocha, iced. "Spicy," it says on the menu.True that, but not overwhelming at all. Just right. Customer service left a lot to be desired. The store itself is a bit confusing due to having to order from three different registers based off what you're getting, with no guidance to do so except from staff after you've waited in line. We visited twice (different staff each day) and on both occasions not only was staff super rude to customers (however were polite to each other) but the first visit, as we sat to eat our food staff was very loudly discussing a customer that had came right before us & were making fun of said customer. The second visit, they laughed at us for ordering at the wrong counter and then made our drink wrong. Food itself was nothing to write home about however had a different variety compared to other ice cream options available, hence the second visit but I wish we would've never given them our business. read more

Just have to say, not sure how a coffee place can make it in a small town that opens at 10am. Heck it's almost time for lunch. But nevertheless we try to support the local business and wait because it's not just coffee it's chocolate. It's family owned and the history of roasting in 19th century Italian coffee roasters. They make their own chocolate and a family of chocolate makers. Today's experience needs a bit of constructive criticism. We were 2nd in line but because they have 3 registers they start taking orders right away and the 2nd person in line actually got the 5th order placed because I didn't know, never been here before. It's as good as Starbucks but at least as expensive and my drink took 12 minutes to arrive at the counter. The wait wouldn't have been so bad but I'm waving away flies like I have a side of beef hanging around my neck. I know flies are a tough problem to deal with but omg it was bad. We did additionally but coffee fudge and chocolate bar to take home. The chocolate bar was really good. Thrown off a bit because it says coffee chocolate, but it's straight chocolate no coffee. The fudge sane thing says coffee, so I'll update the review on the details of that. All other things I can deal with my feedback is to get something to control the flies and I'll be back on the next trip read more

The latte was a tad bit too sweet for my liking, so I'd ask for less sweetener but great nonetheless! My fiancé loved his pumpkin spice latte, which says a lot because he's not a huge coffee drinker. The vibe was a *little* strange from the cashiers, but the people making our drinks were so sweet and friendly. The Apple Caramel Crumb Cake is DELICIOUS! Along with the blueberry muffin. Came here for dessert after having a late lunch. The place is located conveniently on the Main Street and was a couple hundred feet from our hotel room door. My wife and I also got some peanut clusters and a scrap cookie. Everything was delightful! Directly on main street it adds you to the chill atmosphere that the whole town has. The barista working at 2pm Sat 9/28 on the coffee side of shop was short, brown hair, nose pierced, and extremely cute. The three other guys in crew all can to the consensus that she was attractive. Unfortunately, I paid last and didn't want to chat her up after my two friends had already done so. Cute little store for pick-me-up food in Ouray, Colorado. Feeling a little drowsy from driving and wandering around the cute town of Ouray, we stumbled across Mouse's Chocolate and Creamery. The ice cream was delicious and o oh $4.25 for a single scoop. The coffee was also delicious along with the vanilla milkshake. THE MAGIC BARS WERE THE BEST THINGS EVER!! They were so delicious and it just melted right in my mouth. The staff were friendly and immediately took customers showing the speedy but intimate manner that they treat their customers. If you are thirsty but don't want to pay for water with your food, they have a little water station you can stop buy. The rustic feel of the restaurant with the family friendly vibe was quite nice. Next time I stop by Ouray I will definitely come in to Mouse's. read more
