ICE CREAM!!! Walking around checking out the little town found this wonderful Mom/Pop ice cream shop. Perfect! Lots of selections of good ice cream, place was clean, staff friendly, nice sitting area outside, & they will let you have a sample of their products if you are unsure. Note their small batch flavors!! The actual small batch ice cream is not displayed in the case with the regular. Flavors are clearly listed behind the counter and the toasted coconut was SO good!! Seriously creamy and every bite was delicious. Also check out their switchel drink. read more

We had ice cream here today and loved it! The gentleman owner chatted it up with us and told us all about Ridgway and was super nice. We loved our ice cream too. I got to meet his dog later when walking by. Great small business, friendly service, and great ice cream! What more can you ask for? read more

The house-made ice creams are out of this world. They're definitely worth the trip if you're in town, they're definitely worth the trip if you're in the state, and we traveled from out of state to visit. Totally worth it. I had a sea salt Caramel ice cream. It was a well-balanced, creamy, smooth, and completely delicious. It's one of their house-made ice cream, and so is only occasionally available. Another person in my party had the lemon cream ice cream, which was another house made. The owner, and the staff, were a lot of fun to sit and talk with. It's a fun town, and a great destination. read more

Always a nice treat when driving through. The waffle cones are really good and I'm determined to try all flavors...goals

Fantastic afternoon treat! We had coffee and pecan praline ice cream and a hot fudge Sunday. All were great.

People are friendly and the homemade ice cream is worth the stop. The place is across from the city center park which makes for a pleasant time if you head over to the park. They were super nice and patient with our 4 year old daughter. Ridgeway is actually a very nice and interesting little town. Worth a half-to-full day visit when the weather is nice. read more

We stopped here for some afternoon ice cream and it hit the spot so well! We had the salted caramel and vanilla bean ice creams - both were delicious read more

Must stop here and get 1/2 scoop of coffee and 1/2 scoop huckleberry. It's like having a cup of coffee with huckleberry pie! Friendly owners too. read more

This is the best little ice cream shop in the most unexpected place! Great atmosphere and lots of artwork and trinkets for sale. Torben is the owner and very welcoming and friendly. This little shop is all about bringing people together for a little ice cream, and it works! Warm inside on a cold day and cold ice cream on a hot day. Either way, it's a win-win. Stop in and see for yourself. read more

This was a great stop in Ridgeway coming out of Ouray. We really liked the brandy pecan. The downside is is that it does not have an interior necessarily. There is only outdoor seating but it was not bad the day we went. read more

Ice cream was good, Blue Bunny brand, not homemade like stated in another review, but hit the spot after being caught in a rain storm while hiking. A little pricey but expected in smaller towns like this. Mocha shake was pretty good that husband got, daughter loved the hippie, hippie pie shake and my turtle sundae was drenched in chocolate and Carmel! Would go again when in the area. read more

Always visit this place when in Ridgway. We finally got to try the peach we had be hearing so much about. It was wonderful. They were great with our kids odd requests. We will be back for sure! read more

Cute location and friendly service. Compared to the 2 other ice cream places I had this weekend I thought the flavor choices were a bit boring. The taste was pretty good but I would recommend a shake or Sundae. Great spot across from a nice park. The serving sizes were large and the prices good. read more

Cafe Ridgway a la mode - Birthday cake ice cream. - Ice Cream & Frozen Yogurt Near Me - Ridgway, Colorado

Great small batch ice creams. I got strawberry Shiraz and Mexican chocolate was great together, though don't let that limit you as you can mix as many flavors as you like for free. Staff was also hilarious, and make sure to ask about their burgers. read more

Picked up a birthday sundae with small batch ice cream, toasted coconut and Mexican chocolate. Absolutely incredible flavors. Best brownie sundae ever and I'm an ice cream aficianado. (note, ignore the blue bunny in the case and go for the small batch - flavors listed on the board.) read more

Great place to stop for a delicious ice cream treat! It was walk up window ordering. It was $4.50 for a "big"...it was huge, probably 3 or 4 normal scoops in a waffle cone! My kids were thrilled! We had a Mint chocolate chip, Salted Caramel...delicious, and Huckleberry, which just tastes like vacation to me! They have 2 little tables with seating out front. Highly recommend! read more

Amazing hot fudge sundae -- THREE ladles of hot fudge and amaretto whipped cream. Mocha shake was great too. Friendly service.

Called and then drove by to order. Closed. Sign said opened on Wednesday. I know it's a pandemic but we stayed in town just for their ice cream shakes. Well... off to Ouray read more

Super fun and friendly owners/staff. But the best part is their ice cream and the variety of treats and options on their menu. The "Shake Menu" is approximately 30 pages of crazy, unique flavors and combinations, or create your own. Lots of quantity for your buck. Being directly across the road from the city park & playground, with its numerous old large, shade providing cottonwoods is a benefit not to miss. A great place to stop and take a break and enjoy everyone's favorite treat - Ice Cream! (The park has free wi-fi) read more

Ice Cream to die for and awesome service. They were closing up but were very nice and said they were happy to get us anything we wanted. And it's some of the best ice cream I've ever had. read more

Softball size. Grapefruit size. Oh ... my ... goodness. Not only was the ice cream delicious, but the serving sizes were absolutely HUGE! I was impressed that they were able to split a scoop in 2 (I hear they can even do thirds!) so that you can mix various flavors together. Don't expect it to be served in your typical sugar cones. They wouldn't be able to hold the size of these scoops! Instead, they're the big yummy cones. Friendly staff, fun atmosphere, and conveniently located across the street from the big park. $4 for a scoop (but again, the're HUGE!). read more

Torben is always friendly, accommodating and in the know and involved in making Ridgway a pleasant place to live and visit. Oh of course the ice cream is tasty and needed as much as Mountain snow! read more

Super friendly staff and great ice cream! Go for the waffle cone, you will not be disappointed!

Absolutely loved this place! Wonderful ice cream and friendly service. I wish we lived here just to support a great place like this!

A good little hideaway do ice cream; however, a bit pricy. Friendly staff but a little hard to get to because of stalled road construction ("good" old CDOT milking the job). Give this place a try but bring a ten dollar bill! read more

Best place to get ice cream anywhere near here. Torbin and Susie run the place and are wonderful people. If you're passing through town or just need an ice cream fix, this is the place to be! Kids will love all the options read more

Wonderful owner who clearly cares about his business and enjoys his customers. Great ice cream and he'll give you lots of it, my "single" had about three scoops (what can I say, I love sweets.) This is not just a typical ice cream parlor. As you might expect, they have a friendly atmosphere and a good array of regular ice cream. But they also make really, really good sorbet that stands out a lot. The owners are nice people and they're fun to chat with while you're enjoying their food. They are right across from the big park in Ridgway so it is easy to just pop over there for a little while on a hot day. One of the most interesting features is that Torben, the owner, is a highly intelligent and educated man with a solid scientific background. He is very well read and not remotely pretentious. read more

My husband had cookie dough ice cream and I had peach sorry. We both had a small cup serving and enjoyed it. But we were disappointed that they didn't offer frozen yogurt as on Yelp they advertised having ice cream and yogurt. If yogurt isn't offered, then it should be removed from their ad. read more
