I was recommended here by another shop that does not work on transmissions. Showed up at my appointment time and Tim quickly diagnosed the issue. Broken bushing on shift rod in my 2004 CTS. Though 21 years old, car only has 45,000 miles on it. They took the car in while I waited and had in done in no time. Fair price and good service. What else can you ask for? I'd be remiss if I did not mention that the technician that worked on the car was very nice, as was Dee, who works in the office. Thanks! read more

I am checking back again to provide an update a year or so later. I purchased my 2012 Colorado approximately two years ago, it had a transferrable transmission warranty for the 4-speed automatic that had been repaired some months before my purchase by Tim Moye transmission. Shortly after taking ownership, some part failed and the transmission quit working, Tim Moye Transmission fixed the problem at no charge to me, and I know they had to completely remove the transmission and I think replace the front pump, a big operation. Here we are a year or so later, and the transmission is still working beautifully. Tim Moye transmission is good to their warranty. Parts will fail, no getting around that. Question is, will the outfit giving you the warranty honor it? Tim Moye transmission will. Highly recommend! read more

Did my 82 bonneville and did an amazing job and did it in a reasonable time. Very good customer service.

So here I am, back to check on my slow leak from 8 months ago. I am here to tell you, if you need transmission work done, or think you need transmission work done, this is the place to take your vehicle. These are the nicest most customer service oriented people I have ever encountered in the auto repair industry. They checked out my transmission for the second time, and sent me off with no charges again for a transmission assessment. Thanks so much, Tim Moye Transmission! I know where to go when in need or who to recommend. read more

A few years ago we needed a new transmission on our van. We were told this is the place to go. They were reasonable and did quick work. A few months ago, the transmission went out again. We were out of warranty and had put 30,000 miles on the vehicle since our last rebuild. We called and talked directly with Tim Jr. He said he had this happen one other time with our certain transmission on another vehicle and would take care of us. He only charged us for the cost of the parts and not labor. Quick work, courteous and top notch. Every quality automotive place we have visited says Tim Moye is the only place to go. We agree! read more

I was referred to Tim Moye Transmission by Eric from Christian Brothers Automotive (another 5 Star mechanic!) because he thought they'd be better equipped to solve my problem. Brought my f150 up to these guys after a couple of people recommended them. I was not disappointed. They are extremely professional, and patient to explain things to you. I don't know much about transmissions but it was refreshing to have they're process explained and I learned a little on the way. They also have integrity which is sometimes hard to find these days. Thanks to Tim Jr., his dad and they're staff! read more

Just had to say these guys are outstanding. I highly recommend them. They did a great job on my transmission and then when an associated part failed (not one they'd replaced) they covered it under the warranty. They go above and beyond. read more

These days, it is so hard to find a FANTASTIC Family-Owned Shop like this. How refreshing to read all the great "Yelp! " reviews, look at the picture wall of all the custom Hot Rods in the shop, and realize that everyone was telling the truth! My 2008 Dodge Charger SRT8 HEMI had over 100,000 miles on it and the automatic transmission fluid and filter had never been serviced/changed. No worries --Tim Moye Sr. and Tim Moye Jr. as well as their awesome Techs: Gary and Adam do excellent work. After a Transmission Service/Clean out the belly pan, replace the trans filter plus install new MOPAR, ATF+4 fluid (preventive maintenance item) my Charger runs and shifts like the day it rolled off the assembly line. So smooth and quick shifting, it's just amazing. Take care of your vehicle, keep it alive, and bring all your transmission work to Tim Moye in Lutz Fla.. You will be so very, very, happy if you do. read more

I was referred to the Tim Moye shop by a general mechanic who could not handle my problem with a leaking transmission pan on an old Taurus. At first it was a straightforward problem in that after 22 years the factory gasket finally had it, but when I was working on it I accidentally broke one of the screws up in the threads. I paid a guy to help me and he drilled out the extractor pin that I also got stuck in the broken bolt and I got the pan back on but it still leaked. I called another well recommended transmission shop and they said they could not do it because it was really a problem for someone with machinist ability. Tim Moye's fixed it. I was worried that it was going to cost a ton, but they were reasonable. Great service, too. read more
