I took my wifes 2004 Lexus GX 470 in to rebuild the transmission i Jan 26. When I picked it Tim the son advised me to drive it easy for the first couple of hundred miles. I am checking back again to provide an update a year or so later. I purchased my 2012 Colorado approximately two years ago, it had a transferrable transmission warranty for the 4-speed automatic that had been repaired some months before my purchase by Tim Moye transmission. Shortly after taking ownership, some part failed and the transmission quit working, Tim Moye Transmission fixed the problem at no charge to me, and I know they had to completely remove the transmission and I think replace the front pump, a big operation. Here we are a year or so later, and the transmission is still working beautifully. Tim Moye transmission is good to their warranty. Parts will fail, no getting around that. A few years ago we needed a new transmission on our van. We were told this is the place to go. They were reasonable and did quick work. A few months ago, the transmission went out again. We were out of warranty and had put 30,000 miles on the vehicle since our last rebuild. So my transmission started slipping BAD. Took it to TIM MOYE TRANSMISSIONS. Told him DO NOT try and save me money just build me a tough transmission. These days, it is so hard to find a FANTASTIC Family-Owned Shop like this. How refreshing to read all the great "Yelp! " reviews, look at the picture wall of all the custom Hot Rods in the shop, and realize that everyone was telling the truth! My 2008 Dodge Charger SRT8 HEMI had over 100,000 miles on it and the automatic transmission fluid and filter had never been serviced/changed. No worries --Tim Moye Sr. and Tim Moye Jr. as well as their awesome Techs: Gary and Adam do excellent work. After a Transmission Service/Clean out the belly pan, replace the trans filter plus install new MOPAR, ATF+4 fluid (preventive maintenance item) my Charger runs and shifts like the day it rolled off the assembly line. I was referred to the Tim Moye shop by a general mechanic who could not handle my problem with a leaking transmission pan on an old Taurus. At first it was a straightforward problem in that after 22 years the factory gasket finally had it, but when I was working on it I accidentally broke one of the screws up in the threads. I paid a guy to help me and he drilled out the extractor pin that I also got stuck in the broken bolt and I got the pan back on but it still leaked. I called another well recommended transmission shop and they said they could not do it because it was really a problem for someone with machinist ability. Tim Moye's fixed it. I was worried that it was going to cost a ton, but they were reasonable. Great service, too. read more
