Do NOT bring your car here. Not only was the original problem not resolved but more issues came after when the mechanic kept our car overnight for a service that should have taken 3-4 hours. He was argumentative, saying he's been doing this 25 years, and explained the cause of our cars issue was due to a part that does not EXISIT on my particular vehicle. I felt totally duped, and inconvenienced. He quoted us one price ($1500 if we needed all 4 cats replaced -- we only have 2, and a ujoint, that he never installed). We decided to only do one of the repairs so he charged us $800 instead. He never told us our parts would be aftermarket, nor did he ask our preference. 2007 E250 Ford Van with 309k miles. I was stuck on I-4 at Hwy 27 on a Sunday night. I looked up Transmission shops in Tampa and these guys had all positive reviews on Yelp! How do you do that in the auto repair business? Well, it's 4 months later and about 4,000 and this baby is running better than ever. It sounds and shifts just like the factory. He did do a rebuild on mine. He may not be the cheapest but do you really want that guy? No, you want the guy that knows what he's doing and has the tools, shop and experience to do it right. I went to a well known auto service company they did a diagnostic test on my car, I needed a transmission. The customer service was questionable and the price was very expensive. I wanted a second opinion, so I called Transmatics Transmission N Auto Repair. I spoke with the owner Leon, just speaking with him on the phone I know he was a very honest respectful person/businessman. He was very knowledgeable and gave me a better price. To be honest even if it was the same price that I was quoted from the other garage, I would without a doubt take my business to Leon. I went to the garage to speak with Leon and to sign paperwork to start my repairs. He noticed that my mileage was only 69,900. He told me at that point call Nissan because my transmission could be under warranty. Sure enough it was and Nissan will be replacing my transmission without a fee. I was so grateful, I met an angel Leon is such and honest man, I would highly recommend everyone how needs auto repairs to do business with Leon, he is such a wonderful respectful businessman. I was blessed to choose doing business with Transmatics Transmission N Auto Repair, if I did not get my second opinion the first place which again is a well know auto service company and a dishonest company. My son's car stopped moving at a red light yesterday. Being 2000 miles away I had no idea where to tow it to. A quick search showed Transmatics clearly had the best reviews so that's were it went. I went here because of their good reviews online after going elsewhere and not feeling satisfied that I was getting a fair and professional estimate . Not only did Leo and his mechanics meet but they far exceeded my expectations. They saved me thousands over another shop claiming that my transmission was "in need of serious repair" but get this.... They even repaired other issues on my vehicle free of charge, as a courtesy... imagine that, someone who fixes something else just because he did not want to see me drive around with an unsafe item on my vehicle. I seriously thought I wrote this review earlier. This mechanic is amazing! I have been here twice and will officially call him my new guy. Both times he wasn't about taking your money. He wanted to fix the issue the most cost effective way. Both times he has put my car right on the lift to diagnose the issue. Today I took it to have him look at what was dragging under the car. I scraped it over the weekend (long story) he put it right on the lift and stopped the piece from dragged. He didn't charge me anything he said it was really nothing. I have never had this happen. He easily could have ripped me off, or at least tried to like another transmission shop less than a mile away did....won't name names here. Thanks to my man I didn't get ripped off by them. I cannot speak highly enough of Leon. He is honest and knowledgeable and just wants to help you get your car working again. My car was having some transmission problems and we took it to Aamco. They quoted us at least $2500, to pull out the transmission and most likely replace it with a rebuilt one. I wanted to get another quote, so I found Transmatics here on Yelp and saw it had great reviews for honesty, reliability, and realistic prices. I took my car in and Leon immediately hooked it up to his diagnostic equipment. Turns out the code causing the check engine light was actually just due to the transmission fuel temperature sensor. He replaced that, and it was working perfectly again. The transmission itself was completely fine, and if I'd gone with Aamco I'd have had a rebuilt one put in, which generally only last a few years, instead of my perfectly good one! Best part? It cost me less than $300 for the new sensor and the labor. It's been over a month, I drive 70 miles round trip for work each day, and my car is still running perfectly! read more

I recently had told him I was coming up to Tampa for the weekend and asked if he would be open on Saturday. He told me he would be there. He was there bright and early just to accommodate me. My transmission went out and needed to other be rebuilt or replaced. Leon was very knowledgeable about the type of transmission I had in my 2004 Nissan Titan 4x4. So went with him on the rebuild. 3250 in repairs. Great no problem got him paid etc. 5 and a half months later trans would not shift. No problem. I will just get it back to Leon and I'm sure he will take care of it. 4 weeks later I get my truck back. He tells me that he left and band adjuster loose. ‍ ok no problem. When I went to pick up the truck immediately when I put the truck in gear it was a hard shift! Gave the benefit of the doubt and drove it home. Truck was stuck in third gear. The very next day I take it back and I am very frustrated at this point. Needed a rental because I needed a way to and from work. He tells me to get a rental and he will take care of it. No problem I did that. Did not get a full size truck I got a standard rental. He calls me and tells me my truck is ready Friday after Wednesday I told him o rented a car till Monday. I tell him I was out of town for work It will have to be Monday I pick up. When I come to pick up he will not give me receipts for the two times after the initial rebuild with what he did to the trans to fix problem. He told me he was only going to pay 100 dollars for my rental after saying he would pay for the rental. This guy Nicole and timed me to death and was disrespectful as hell after admitting that both times was his fault! Leon is a piece of shit mechanic that makes the rest of us look bad. Transmatics is not a professional operation and the associates lack customer service skills. The original quote was adjusted last minute after their negligence with accessing that the car was ready to return to me. I have went back to this operation 3 times since first handing over the car and every time their has been an issue that could have been assessed and addressed if professionals were conducting their business. To make matters worse the transmission that was installed lasted only 10 days and another transmission had to be installed. Very poor operation with unqualified leaders. read more
