Brought my Mazda in for diagnostic testing after Advance Auto tested it and said it was NOT the battery. This shop quickly diagnosed it WAS the battery (which was still under warranty with Advance Auto). Thank goodness there is still honesty and kindness out there in a world that is otherwise! Greg Bailey would get 10 stars if allowed and will be my go-to auto repair shop from now on. I sincerely recommend this auto repair shop! read more

Colleague recommended me to bring my car here, and after one visit I started recommending here, too. Greg fitted me into the schedule next day; he was friendly, straightforward, and very helpful. I came to ask questions about a routine checkup, and was offered advice without any pressure. I felt I was treated very fairly, and this is for sure now the place I'd head to if I need anything about my car. read more

My go to mechanic, for several different car issues I've had over the years. Greg is so honest and helpful and I always feel my car is in the best hands. The prices are very fair. read more

Mr. Bailey is very knowledgeable! I went in twice for my Honda- once when my engine would randomly stall and the other for an engine cylinder misfire. I'm no expert, but I do know a bit about cars. Not once did I feel like he was just trying to get money from me. I truly felt he had my best interests in mind. He also explains things very well without it feeling condescending. I will definitely be coming back for any future car issues. read more

Very knowledgeable and honest. I didn't need an appointment and I could just drop off my vehicle.

Greg is the best! He services all my families cars and always gives an honest price. He doesn't add anything extra that your vehicle doesn't need and does quality work. read more

I brought my Prius here to get a head gasket replacement ($3900). When I picked it up, I noticed a very loud clicking noise that hadn't been there before. After driving it for about a week, I brought it back. He said that it sounded like the lifters and that I could leave it with him and he'd take a look. When I picked it up this time, indeed it was quieter. I asked him what he did, because the lifters are not adjustable, and he just said, "I fixed it". Fast forward 2 months and the engine blows out on a highway in Tennessee. I had another shop put a new engine in my car. When I called Bailey, he denied it could be the work he did. No offer of anything. Would not trust this guy with a large job. read more

Took my RAV4 in to get an oil change and possibly brakes and a couple tires. Greg was able to fit me in the same day and completed all the work that day. He was very fair in price and I ended up replacing all 4 tires with alignment for a little better price then the dealer had quoted me for the brakes and 2 tires. Greg came highly recommended and I am here to say I also highly recommend. Great work, fair price all from a nice guy. read more

We were on our way to drop our daughter back at school and tire sensor went off. This shop took us immediately and corrected the problem. Excellent service, excellent value, and timely. We HIGHLY recommend this shop! read more

Had a wonderful and easy experience at Greg Bailey's Automotive for an oil change. I gave the shop a ring and wasn't able to reach anyone, but Greg called me back within the next few minutes. Since they don't carry the oil required for my Lexus, they let me bring in my own and charged me for the service alone. It was a quick, painless experience and for that I am very grateful. Plus there a fish tank in the waiting room that I loved exploring while I waited. read more

I have brought two of my vehicles to Greg. Each time he provided me with an honest evaluation. He doesn't suggest additional repairs and handles the problem at hand. He is very respectful and did I mention Honest? Its very hard to find honest people now a days. I trust his professional evaluation with my vehicles. I'm so gald that we still have people like that we can take our concerns to. Having car problems is already frustrating and sometimes nerve racking. He tells you how it is without any flair. I highly recommend him! read more

Fast, friendly and affordable. He listened and fixed the problem same day (brake line went out). Highly recommend!

First time there. Plugged a tire on my Silverado at an exceptionally reasonable price, and did it fitting me into what has to be a very busy schedule. I recommend, and will return for more serious matters in the future (it being a Silverado and all ...) read more

Greg Bailey is our family's second generation mechanic. He's the best and fair with prices and guarantees his work.

Gregg is a great person...he changed the A/C compressor out on my wifes car next day. It had an issue a week later and he took the car right in and fixed it. He is the old fashion mechanic that honors his work and provides customer service with integrity. Will definitely bring any of my vehicles here. read more

I came to Greg's with great concern for service needed on my Nissan Rogue, after getting some standard services done & they suggested several more items to have done asap. I wanted a second opinion. After reading the reviews for Greg Bailey Automotive, I decided to reach out. Greg personally called me, offered to look at my car and give me his opinion regarding the services with no charge or obligations. That type of customer service immediately impressed me! I went to his business that day, he inspected my car, showed me everything we discussed and told me my car was fine! Nothing urgently needed. He was clearly not trying to get extra business thru scare tactics. I appreciated his honesty and his knowledge is amazing! I'll be back for my future services as needed! read more

just plain excellent! went for a brake job, cost was reasonable, done within a short periid of tome and I was out the door with new brakes that worked perfectly. read more

This is my second time going to Greg and I am so glad that I was lucky that I found this shop. I wasn't sure what was happening to my car, I took it to him and he took a look. Other shops charge just to look and diagnose the car. He is upfront and tell you what to expect and need. I'm grateful for him, and will recommend everyone to him. Hopefully I won't have car issues but if at any point I need service, This is where I will be read more

Brought my car in and was happy with the quote, the professionalism and so on. Greg was honest, if not super cheap. But then again, I felt that his prices were fair and that I was getting a good deal. He even changed an air filter while he was working and that helped. I have been burned locally with mechanics and feel that I can definitely recommend that you bring in your car to see if Greg can help. read more

After searching for auto repair shops I called and spoke with Greg (owner). He was pleasant and extremely helpful. I took my 2011 Sonata in due to what I thought would be an expensive fix with my clutch. Greg was honest, took the time to properly diagnose the issue (which was a small plastic fitting needed to be replaced), and took care of me. Highly satisfied and would use him for future repairs! Thank you for a job well done. read more

They do a booming business so it won't necessarily be quick but this shop is honest and they do great work.

GREAT SHOP. So kind, honest, fast and quality work. No BS here highly recommend this shop

This was my first time going to Greg Bailey automotive after years of bouncing around from one mechanic to the next and have finally found a great mechanic that is honest and does GREAT work! I took my Prius to Greg for ABS brake warning light. I spoke to Greg and brought my own parts. I felt comfortable after speaking to Greg and felt he is an honest person. I left my car on a Tuesday; he mentioned it will take a day and a half. I did not get any calls after this time period, so I started to call to check on progress. After a few days I finally spoke to him and said he was still working on car. This went on till Friday and I had to rent a car since I needed transportation and did not expect car to be in shop this long and especially for the weekend. I was able to get the car out of shop on Friday and avoid additional expense on rental but car was not complete as Greg said he was not able to program computer on car as he didnt have proper scanner/tool and he would have to order the Toyota tool. I now waited for him to call me the following week as I was suspect of car and not feeling safe with this situation, the ABS, brake lights were on again. Again, I never heard from Greg and called him about Wednesday to see what status was and he mentioned he was still waiting on tool. When tool arrived he said he was testing the tool which is understandable but now that was another few days delay. About a week after I had taken my car from shop I went back to shop for Greg to complete repair. Finally this tool worked. To summarize, the problems were lack of communication, I had scuff mark on right lower front fender that wasn't there when I took car in, they left off gasket that mounts on the booster pump against the firewall, they overfilled the brake fluid reservoir and overflowed. I had bought the parts new and original equipment from Toyota, and this included the gasket and I brought them to Greg. I had retrieved the old parts and on the old booster pump there is the old gasket, and the new gasket I brought in along with the other parts is in the box still wrapped in its plastic bag. So, I have no seal between firewall and booster pump due not installing gasket and overfilling reservoir is sloppy work. Greg seems like a good guy, and he did reduce the cost because of scuff mark but the repair of that scuff mark is more than the cost reduction he gave me, and it doesn't help when the work is incomplete and expensive, and you can't communicate with your customers. read more

WOWWW!!! No wonder this place is 5 stars!!! I will state that I have NOT had my car serviced by them yet, but I was so blown away by the way I was treated here I had to drop a gold star. I have NEVER in my entire life dealt with such a friendly person when calling a mechanic shop, and quite frankly I think it might have been the best customer experience via phone that I have ever had in any industry. I am still blown-away by how non-judgmental and PATIENT Greg was during all our phone calls. It was the type of niceness you usually only get when you've been going to the same shop and they know you as a person. For whatever reason, when my car got to his shop the problem went away so they were unable to diagnose it (it was actually the hybrid battery on my Prius so he wouldn't have been able to help me anyway) but if I ever need something small and here I DEFINITELY know where to go. Thanks Greg!! read more

I took my car to Greg Bailey Automotive to get my brake pads replaced. My car has a sensor that tells me when to get them replaced. Greg called me and told me that only the back brake pads needed to be replaced. They are honest, do a quality job, and are priced right. I will keep coming back. read more

They were so awesome. All I needed was an inspection of my car, and they did it free of charge and explained everything back in detail to me. While the inspection did take a little over a day to complete, it is understandable why it took that long because of how much business they are receiving! I highly recommend this auto shop if you are new to Tampa, and need auto services. read more

I live in Kentucky. My son is in St.Petersburg with a disabled car. Gregg didn't work on my son's vehicle, but he offered help that save me at least $1,000. My son's car died and needs an ECM. I ordered one and had it sent to my son, but it needed to be programmed. I got to talk to Greg about it, and he recommended a place that will come to my son's house, saving a huge tow bill. Another shop wanted $1300 to fix the vehicle. I looked at reviews at places in St. Petersburg, and he was the highest, and I know why. He is honest, helpful, and upfront. My son will be going there in the future for maintenance. read more

Greg and his team are the best. they are so honest and have saved us thousands of dollars. They are rare and are of a tremendous value.

Heard of him from a family member. Brought in my Dodge Avenger that I wasn't maintaining at all. Had multiple issues that he fixed in a timely manner at a great price. Straight shooter, wants to get you in and out. Can tell he has been doing this forever just from his demeanor. Will only work on what needs to be done, no upselling. This is my guy from now on. read more

All work on my car was completed in one day. I brought it in around 9:30am and got it back a little after 5pm. Bonus that this place is only about a mile from my house so I rode my bike home after dropping the car off and then rode back to get it. Greg himself talks to you about what you'll need done however I wasn't offered a quote when I talked about bringing the car in, only once it was already there and they'd gotten into it did he call and say "This is how much everything is." My total was $320-something. Replacing 3 belts (timing, steering, one more) was under $150 which I found very reasonable. I bought a battery, had it installed, and had the metal connector parts replaced (corrosion). However, I was charged over $60 for an oil change. I brought the oil and filter myself so the $60 was just for labor...it seems very excessive. I also spent $20-ish to have my headlights replaced, which were also provided by me. You're probably thinking, "What kind of dummy can't change her own oil and headlights?" Well, some jerk stole my ramps and hydraulic jack (not here in Tampa) and I can't fit under my car without it being elevated (thanks, boobs). 2 of my headlight screws rusted (it's an Indiana car) and broke off inside the assemblage so I couldn't get them out. In conclusion, overall pricing for repairs seems ok, turnaround time was great, Greg is nice, the giant aquarium in the lobby is nice to look at, the grouchy little office cat made friends with me, the couches are comfy, and there are plenty of magazines to look at while you wait. I recommend this place, but if you're having your oil changed you'd better ask for a quote first. I'd hate to think what it would've cost me if I HADN'T brought my own filter and full-synthetic oil with me. It probably would've been well over a hundred dollars just for an oil change! read more
