Took a vehicle in for transmission fluid drain and fill. Was quoted over the phone $120, and even discussed the make, model, and year of the car as well as reconfirmed that it would likely take synthetic Honda fluid. Upon arrival, that price changed to $170, purportedly "because it uses synthetic," yet this exact issue was discussed by phone beforehand. At the shop, and after some renegotiation about that pricing, and a further request for a printed estimate, they agreed to honor the price. I found it troubling that asking for a written estimate was undesirable to them, even though the law requires a customer be given one for any repair over $100. The younger gentleman at the front has a dangerously magnetic, trusting personality, so know what you need and be an informed consumer and don't just agree with what they may tell you. Strike one. The service was prompt. Upon pickup the gentleman (a different person, not the younger man) advised that the oil service light was on (remaining oil life) and said there was "no" oil on the dip stick. Both my wife and I heard "no oil" and I immediately stated that would shock me since I personally change my own oil, there was no oil leak, and the engine was not burning oil. I then verified there was an adequate amount of oil in the engine, and returned to the front desk with the dip stick. The staff initially speculated that perhaps the technician topped off the oil--to which I immediately said should never be done without a telephone call to the vehicle owner beforehand. How would they know what oil to use? Do they know what oil I run? Conventional or synthetic? What viscosity? That speculative statement further leads me not to trust this shop. Strike two with the front office personnel. I asked to speak with the technician who serviced the vehicle (Chris). Chris then came and I showed him there was actually oil in the engine, and at an acceptable level. While the level was on the lower end of the normal range, he nevertheless stuck to his guns that it was "low" and claimed it needed an entire additional quart. Wrong. Apparently Chris has a fundamental misunderstanding of engineering tolerances. Manufacturers specify tolerances for all manner of things, and when out of tolerance, then service is indicated. Strike three. So, while I appreciate that they "checked" the engine oil, the communication was lacking. A trustworthy mechanic would have simply indicated that the oil level was on the lower end but acceptable, and talked honestly in good faith to help a customer figure out if there were a problem. Instead they were defensive and arrogant. I wouldn't recommend this shop. For what it's worth, GLENAL, INC (d/b/a Running Great) is registered with Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS), so that's a positive sign. Its license no. is MV33781, and it had two complaints filed against it with FDACS 2021, but otherwise has no other official complaints in the past four years. read more

My friend is a 20 year old women who took her 03 jetta into the shop. DO NOT COME HERE, car was dropped off fully detailed and ready to be sold all we needed was a battery and fuel filter. When we came in to pick up the car the interior was covered in oil, I have before and after and it literally brought my friend to tears because of how badly they messed up her car. The shop also scratched the whole rear fender and bumper of the car and tried to "fix it" by putting a completely different color paint to patch it up. Not once did Glen I believe he is the owner of the shop take responsibility and say "hey sorry we fucked up" no he decided to lie to us repeatedly saying that non of the damage was them and that my friend didn't know her own car. Luckily we have pictures the day before of the full exterior and interior. The owner said he would pay for a detailer to come and clean the car but come to our surprise the next day the car still had oil all over it and nothing was cleaned, I don't know if this man thinks that we are stupid but all they did was use acetone on the seat to get the oil out and put tire shine on the seats. Didn't get a refund and when my friend tried calling him out on his bs he told her that he would not talk to her only her father although the car is under her name and she's the one that brought it in. Glen if you're reading this grow up and become a man maybe after you'll be able to make a little more than a 40k year salary and grow some hair on your balls. Hope your "business" goes down hill. I have been using running great for well over 20 years.. this last Thu July 14th 2022, my check engine light went on in my car was hesitating a bit.. I stopped at an automotive parts place as it was after hours.. they put the code reader on it and said it was two different things and one was O2 sensors etc.. first thing in the morning I went to running great.. they were quite busy, but managed to squeeze me in.. my main mechanic Chris took a look at it, called me in from the waiting room and pretty much scolded me for not cleaning an updating my air filters etc he promptly ordered two air filters and cleaned the sensors.. voila! Had me back on the road in 30 minutes and saved me in the vicinity of three or $400!.. this is what they do at running great.. they look at the big picture, analyze things and do their very best to fix the problem in an honest and fair fashion.. thanks again... These guys are great. My buddy had his car towed there and they diagnosed the problem. They found the problem and determined that Nissan had a voluntary recall which they recommended that the dealer should fix for free. They didn't charge him for the diagnosis. They could have performed the work but they were honest and recommended he take it to the dealership where they repaired it same day for free. Because I was too busy to leave the car for a day then, I had to drop the car off several days later and I took an Uber home. An hour later, they called to say they couldn't fix it, & for me to pick it up. I recently took my Nissan Rogue in because the air conditioner wasn't blowing out. I was fearful of a big repair, but it turned out to be a minor issue. Now, many less than scrupulous repair centers would have told me (and charged me) for a bigger repair, even though it was not needed, but not Running Great. Wow, unbelievable experience! My car wouldn't start so I needed to have it towed. Never being to this shop someone suggested I have it towed to them. I found Glen and his staff to be very courteous, professional and knowledgeable and focused on just fixing the problem in a very timely manner. Brought my car in for an AC inspection. After 2 days of waiting, they called and said the compressor was bad and it would be $1000 to fix. Brought it to another place for a second opinion, and the compressor was fine. Just needed a Freon refill.
