We were warmly greeted and acknowledged when we walked in, and we took a minute to scan over the expansive menu. We both ordered single scoops of the ice cream, and were surprised and happy at the generous portion of ice cream. The ice cream was very creamy, thick, and had great flavor. The cotton candy with the pop rocks was a nice surprise. There are a few tables and a wooden bench along the wall for seating, as well as a long table attached to the wall with chairs. The decor was very Southern, with a Hey Ya'll sign on the wall, and a few quoted pictures around the walls. It was very cute. I will definitely return because of how close this location is to where I recently moved, and because of the variety and length of the menu. I would love to come back and try the bakery or coffee items. When we left, we were given a happy farewell.

I have been coming to this adorable ice cream shop for many years during the day for coffee and…read moretreats . I decided to try the ice cream in the evening, but I was sorry I did. The staff in the evening are young and very immature. Service is not their main concern. We were helped by a rude young lady, and we had a question about the size of the cups, she was actually annoyed that we asked and she held up the cups with a smirk and turned colleagues and started laughing... we placed our order and she waited on the next customers who got their ice cream 10 minutes before we did as ours sat on the counter and melted. before we were called. When the owner and managers are there during the day, the shop is well run, and the attitude is pleasant. But the evening was a we terrible experience. Bad service and warm ice cream!

I picked up a half dozen to bring home for the family. They have a great selection and the woman working there described them all. Unfortunately, Five-O Donuts in Ellenton has continually gone downhill since my original review…read more We've given this location a couple more chances, but the donuts are now consistently stale, and at the current prices, they simply aren't worth it. The theme is still cute, and they have some really creative and fun donut ideas. The problem is that the donuts no longer taste good or look nearly as appealing as they used to. Yes, you get giant donuts, but they're often hard, dry, and clearly not fresh. It's especially disappointing because these used to be much prettier and more enjoyable. As I mentioned in my original review, I was previously told that the donuts are stale because they aren't made on-site. The donuts are sent to this location premade, with the frosting, toppings, and other finishing touches added here. While I understand the logistics of doing it this way, the end result is a donut that just doesn't taste fresh. What's also telling is how often the shop is now empty. This location used to sell out, whereas now it's not unusual to see very few customers. The only reason we returned recently was because I had a gift card to use. Unfortunately, I wouldn't spend my own money here again. Cute concept, huge donuts, and some great ideas--but unfortunately, they're no longer worth the cost when the donuts are consistently hard, dry, and stale.

The taste of the donuts is excellent and reminds me of old donut shops growing up when I was a kid. However, once I entered it had a very strong odor that was very displeasing. I don't know how to explain but it almost smelled as old grease and no clean ventilation was passing through.
