I enjoy visiting here, as it's a nice, clean venue and a great spot for meetings after-hours. After 7 PM, the place clears out and there are plenty of tables to sit and work, and the fact that the staff not only don't seem to mind but expect it is appreciated. There's plenty of seating, so you don't have to worry about being stuck and the regular crowd (lots of old folks reading the paper) never seems to be dense enough that you'll have any problems. Service is always prompt and finely-tuned. I don't think I've ever had a wrong order from here. They've also got their workflow down to a T - try visiting here in the morning and see how they deal with the exodus of cars that tie up the parking lot and drive-thru. If I do have a minor quibble, the lot has seen better days and the ground is getting increasingly cracked and uneven. This is well worth a visit if you're in the area, because there just aren't many other options for consistent coffee in the immediate area.

I arrived at the drive-through, as I have many times before, to order my regular custom bagel: tomato, lettuce, onion, and herb garlic cream cheese. This is a combination I consistently order, and it has never been a problem in the past--I'm always happy to pay extra for the additional items. However, today's experience was extremely disappointing and upsetting. The customer service representative (maybe the manager) was shockingly rude from the very beginning. Instead of listening to my request, she began punching in an overpriced sandwich that I did not ask for. I politely tried to explain that I didn't want the sandwich and simply wanted the custom bagel I always order. Despite my respectful tone, she refused to accommodate my request and insisted I come up to the window. Once I reached the window, her behavior only escalated. She continued to speak rudely, gave me the impression that she did not want to serve me at all, and outright refused to fulfill my order the way I requested it. I calmly asked her again to please prepare the bagel with the ingredients I mentioned, and to charge me accordingly, as has been done at every other location without issue. Instead, she shut the service window on me and, while I was driving away, stated dismissively that the "menu had changed" and it was from "the authorities" that they could no longer provide such customizations. To confirm if this was truly a policy change, I immediately went to another Tim Hortons location nearby and placed the exact same order--and I received it without any issue, just as I always have. This confirmed that the excuse given was not valid, and that the employee at the previous location simply chose not to serve me properly. I left that first location feeling frustrated, disrespected, and disappointed. As a loyal customer who visits Tim Hortons regularly, I expect to be treated with basic courtesy and respect. I understand policies and menus may change, but there was no reasonable explanation for the rudeness and refusal to accommodate a simple request--especially one that is regularly fulfilled at other Tim Hortons locations. I hope this matter is taken seriously. No customer should be made to feel unwelcome or disrespected for simply requesting a standard, customized order--especially when they are polite, willing to pay, and simply asking for consistency.

I was surprised by the amount of seating tucked away in the place (you definitely can't see it all from outside), but the padded seats I perched on were fraying and had definitely seen better days. I got to Oakville earlier than I had expected. I needed a drink on a hot, sunny day. I did a quick search and found this Starbucks close by. I headed over there. This cafe is its own standalone building. I dig it. It's rare to find. It's either a part of a series of businesses, or is built into a Petro-Canada gas station. I spotted a drive-thru and decided to check it out. There was a single car in front of me. When I was my turn, I spoke to a man. I ordered my usual when it's summer, which is a grande iced peach green tea. It still bugs me that, by default, staff assume that you want it with lemonade. Um, no. If I had said lemonade, it would indicate that I want it. I got to the pickup window and spoke to a male barista. I had him scan my Starbucks barcode on my phone to pay for my drink. He then asked how I'd like to pay, holding a payment machine. I was confused. I asked him, "Didn't I just pay?" He had to check. I don't know what he did or did not do there, but he needed to rescan my barcode. Weird. I did get my drink. I thanked him, despite being weirded out by the double-scan oddness. There were plenty of Starbucks locations in the area, so I ended up being a regular Starbucks customer. After all these years, I didn't really have a favourite Starbucks cafe. Sure, I visit my local one a lot out of convenience, but it's not my favourite. I'd say the one closest to my workplace is close to being my favourite because it has a drive-thru and staff are extremely friendly. They like being there and appreciate that I appreciate what they do. My friend, Sandy, and I dropped by this Starbucks cafe in late August before a Yelp event in Oakville. Frankly, my knowledge of the Mississauga-Oakville border is so poor that I thought this cafe was in Oakville. Nope, it's considered Mississauga. I have found my favourite Starbucks cafe. It's this one. This cafe has a drive-thru. It had steady business when we dropped by. We wanted to get drinks, sit down, chat, and kill some time. It's rare that I can't comment on going through a Starbucks drive-thru. It's the case here. I backed into a parking spot fairly close to the main entrance. We got out of my car and entered the cafe. Sandy did a pitstop. I used the washroom before we left. There are two single stalls. The one that I used was clean and roomy. I went to place my order. My favourite drink these days is the cool lime refresher. It was a regular drink on the menu years ago. Starbucks got rid of it. When it returns for a limited time, I pounce on it like a tabby cat. I got the nicest barista. When I ordered this refresher in a grande size, she asked if it was for here or to go. I said the former. She asked if I wanted it in a glass or a cup. A glass?! Super fancy! It was a first for me. I went for the glass. Wow! And, that's why this cafe is my favourite. I have never had any Starbucks cold drink in a glass before. I had my Starbucks barcode on my app scanned to pay for my drink. I like that my name shows up automatically on the label. It didn't take long for my drink to be ready. Yes, I picked up the solid glass containing my cool lime refresher. I sat down with Sandy and her drink. My glass had a sticker with my name and my order on it. Maybe my glass was chilled a bit. I loved my cool lime refresher. It tasted even better in a glass. Maybe it's psychological. I don't know. I do know that it hit the spot and I felt classy. Yes to getting a drink in a glass. Sandy had her drink in a cup. I showed her the braille at the bottom of it. She thought it was neat. Her reaction was similar to mine when I accidentally found it. This cafe is clean. Staff are friendly. The only downside was that there weren't any baked goods in the display case. I'm not sure why. Luckily, I wasn't in need for any, so I'm not docking any stars off my rating. There was a bin to put your glasses and dishes in by the garbage and recycle bin. I actually cleaned out my car and brought my empty beverage bottles in to be recycled. I loved being here.
