It felt as though assumptions and biases were being made based clothing I was wearing or my perceived financial status or more. During the interaction, the associate made comments around Men's Wearhouse and similar retailers that they are not and that she doesn't like, which came across as dismissive and unnecessary. That said, I personally would not purchase from this store based on my experience with this associate. On a more positive note, I will note that they do offer a wide variety of selections and seem to do quality work. But overall, it's disappointing when quality customer service and professionalism are difficult to find in environments that should feel welcoming and inclusive.

After all the back and forth, we went to a register to get the proper assistance from Connie, Debbie, and Sheena. They were all so amazing and helpful with resolving the issues. I'm thankful for their amazing customer service, but the unprofessional employee Angelica was not helpful at all.

Disappointing Experience for a Long-Time Shopper (Saved by Connie & Debbie)…read more I have been a long-time Kohl's shopper, but my recent visit during their clearance event--which advertised an additional 50% off the marked clearance price--was extremely frustrating. The extra 50% discount wasn't applying correctly at self-checkout. When I politely asked for assistance, the employee supervising the area, Angelica, gave me a visible attitude and repeatedly argued with me, insisting the marked price was already correct without even checking the promotion. To make matters worse, manager Nicole (or Nikki) was also involved and displayed the exact same bad attitude instead of helping to resolve the pricing error. After ringing up all my items, the hostility from both the employee and manager forced me to void the entire transaction and wait in a long checkout line just to get to a regular register. Thankfully, Connie and Debbie at the main registers completely turned things around. They stepped in, immediately applied the correct promotional pricing without hesitation, and handled everything with a warm, welcoming smile. The selection was a few cute items but mostly winter items. Connie, Debbie and Sheena deserve 5 stars for fantastic customer service! However, the visible attitude, wasted time, and lack of professionalism from Angelica and manager Nicole/Nikki were completely unacceptable--especially toward a loyal, long-time customer. Kohl's needs to address staff courtesy and ensure management actually understands current store sales.

The shoes were in perfect condition, with the tags and receipt, and there was absolutely nothing wrong with them. When he attempted to return them, the employee acted as though they no longer accepted shoe returns. My husband has an accent and is not originally from this country, and the way he was treated made us very uncomfortable and concerned that he was being treated differently because of that. I called the store afterward to clarify the return policy and was assured that there was no policy preventing them from accepting a return on shoes. Then traveled out of the country. Before leaving, a manager had assured us that they would take care of the situation when we returned. Unfortunately, by the time we came back, we were outside the return window for receiving the money back on the original payment method. The new manager we dealt with was not understanding or considerate of the situation. In fact, she told us that even the store manager might not be able to do anything, but that manager would not be back for another five days. After everything that had happened, we were left wondering what the purpose of waiting another five days would be. We ultimately accepted store credit just to resolve the situation and move on. Then, as we were leaving, we could see the three employees together through the window, laughing shortly after our interaction. Whether they were laughing about us or not, that is certainly how it appeared, and it was incredibly unprofessional and disrespectful. This entire situation could have been handled so easily with basic communication, understanding, and customer service. Instead, it became a frustrating experience from beginning to end. Nordstrom has a reputation for taking care of its customers. Unfortunately, this particular experience was the complete opposite. I sincerely hope management reviews what happened, because every customer deserves to be treated with respect and dignity--regardless of their accent, background, or how they communicate.

The staff took their time with the hat and made sure it looked right instead of rushing through it. They were also great with the boots, helping me figure out what size actually worked for me across different styles and brands. That part matters because cowboy boot sizing can feel like it was invented by someone who wanted to make online shopping impossible. What I appreciated most was that they weren't pushy. They clearly knew their stuff, explained the differences, and seemed to genuinely enjoy helping me find the right fit. Overall, great local spot if you need hat work, boots, or just want guidance from people who actually understand western wear.

The checkout line was incredibly long, prompting a sales clerk to ask Sam for assistance. My family was next in line, but Sam flatly refused to check us out. Instead, she deliberately waited until the lone cashier finished with their current customer before stepping in to help the person behind us. As an African American woman, I cannot definitively say what her motives were, but her behavior gave off a distinct, uncomfortable vibe of racial bias. This was compounded by the fact that she followed us around the store and glared at us with a constant scowl. When we reached the register, I asked the cashier for the shift manager's name so I could report this behavior. The clerk pointed to Sam. Wanting to avoid confrontation with someone carrying such negative energy, I decided to let it go. However, overhearing my question, Sam stopped helping her own customers, walked over to our register, and rudely demanded to know "what's the matter" and "what's going on over here." Neither the cashier nor I had requested her presence. Sam made my family feel deeply uncomfortable and completely ruined our shopping experience. Her blatant lack of respect and poor customer service do a massive disservice to the Old Navy brand. Needless to say, we will never shop at this location again.

I Yelped for some nearby stores and found Casual Male XL on Baseline, on the south side of the road near Gilbert Road. The guy who works there greeted us when we walked in. The company website, although not specific to this store, led me to believe there'd be a sizable shoe selection--there really isn't at this particular store. Dad really needed a new pair of shoes...he never complains about anything and wouldn't buy himself new shoes unless his foot fell through the bottom, so I was a bit disappointed because I wanted to get him a new pair. However, we did find a pair of Deer Stag shoes in the top-sider model. He tried them on and loved them. And they were on sale! In addition to shoes, they have jeans, slacks, T-shirts, dress shirts, underwear, polos, and suits. I didn't buy any of those items (yet) but I'll be back.
