(Available on Yelp and Google Review) 1- Star *****BUYER BEWARE!!!??****** I want to like this place. Everybody need a reliable auto shop. You be the judge.. 1. Towed in a truck with a no start issue. 2. Reds diagnosed issue as fuel pump and put new one in at cost of $1200. 00 3. After new fuel pump, $1200.00, truck still didn't run, then was told I needed new motor. 4. Paid the $1200 bill and towed truck back home. Response from Red's Diesel (Available on Google Reviews): Mr. [Greg G.], I do not believe your review here is a complete representation of your visit to my business. When you first brought the truck in you told me that you had heard this truck run at one time but did not purchase it then. The truck in question is a 1997 F-250 with 307217 miles. It was either stolen or broken in to before you purchased it and when you did purchase it was non running. You asked us to diagnose the no start condition. When the vehicle was towed to the shop the batteries were dead, the oil level was 4 quarts low and the air filter was removed and a can of starting fluid was in the air filter tray. Starting fluid is very harsh on a diesel engine and should not be used. After charging the batteries and topping off the oil we attempted to start your truck. It would not start, we performed a no start engine diagnostic which includes checking for DTC's and monitoring scan tool data. No DTC's were present and all live data on the scan tool relating to a no start condition were present. We checked for fuel pressure and no pressure was present. We verified fuel in the tank and that there were not any restrictions of the fuel supply. An estimate to replace the fuel pump was given to you on 3/9/2022 and you approved the repairs over the phone. The fuel pump, filter and lines were replaced. The truck did start after these repairs, however it did not run well. Your truck was not mis-diagnosed. The only way to know in advance that your truck had mechanical engine problems would have been to do a compression test before replacing the fuel pump which would have cost $400 dollars. To do so is not part of the diagnostic flow chart from the work shop manual, and would be improper and un-ethical to sell that procedure on a vehicle that does not have fuel pressure. This would have been presented to you had the truck had fuel pressure, no DTC's and still did not start. I spoke with you and let you know that the truck does run and will start but would need an engine. I also told you a compression test would cost $400 but would be a waste of your money for me to tell you that you needed an engine. You came to pick the truck up today and we spoke about your options. Not once did you seem or say you were not happy with what had happened. I can understand your frustrations of having spent money and not having a perfectly running truck, but these are things that are out of our hands as we do not have a crystal ball to predict the future. After 7 years in business you are our first non 5 star review which I do not feel you gave an accurate response to what occurred. I also called to talk with Mr. [Greg G.], his was response was to yell and go on a profanity laced rant and accuse me of stolen Valor over a folded flag that is in my office that he asked about yesterday and was told the history behind it. The flag was flown on a mission in Afghanistan and presented to my family from a friend that was deployed. A framed certificate came with the flag and in no way was this represented any other way!

They tried to somewhat make it right, but left the car in a state where they clearly didn't want to touch it anymore. During this time they were posting social media videos joking about customers wanting their cars fixed and how they can't work miracles. All while having my vehicle for an extended period of time. I'd gone to another mechanic who had installed 2 front brake lines and didn't get all the air out of the lines. Danny fit me in even though he was swamped. He got me in and out in under an hour and his price was reasonable (I'd called around). The customer service was bar none. They even let me know that if I have too many keys on my keychain, it could cause engine problems and possibly a fire. I'm glad I can avoid that in the future. Action Alignment has an incredibly charming and adorable shop kitty who honored me with lots of attention and even let me pet her a whole bunch.
