Need A Brake? Brake & Auto Service

Robert is such personably, friendly, family man grounded in goodness, honesty and respect. He went…read moreway of his way to be patient and make sure my vehicle got the very best of care. Robert has an extensive in-depth understanding about vehicles and the auto industry. He looked around and found the very best deals for me! Having lived in Los Lunas most of his life he knows everyone and whom to trust when he needs other local services to compliment his work. I needed some welding; upholstery work and a few parts from the camper stores besides a new transmission and he knew just where to go. Robert restored my old 1992 old Dodge Camper Van back up to speed. It needed about 40 different little adjustments made to make it more handicapped accessible for me and is now ready to traverse the U.S. and Mexico again. I drive all the way from my home in the East Mountains of Tijeras, NM to Los Lunas, NM because he is such a trustworthy mechanic and so much better than any I have found in Albuquerque to fix Dodges. He fixed up my Honda also. He found things the other dealers were in too much of a hurry to test. Robert laughs easily; is kind; peaceful and so easy to be around and will take the time to really explain things to me on the phone (as a woman he is very respectful to my limited understanding). Robert sincerely cares that you walk away completely satisfied with his work. He is a bit of a perfectionist so be patient if he takes the time to treat you and your vehicle with the best of care. I feel so fortunate that I found Robert at Need a Brake and I would highly recommend him to anyone with any kind of vehicle! p.s. Thank you to Antoinette and all of the Isleta Pueblo for all the help in containing the fire this summer. I was next in line to evacuate! Thank you God for the wonderful blessing of Prayers for Rain. We appreciate it so. We are all so very blessed as God is so Good to us! Sincerely, Suzanne Hruschka

Birthmas, if you will. Holy cr** these guys are amazing! Chris did an amazing job communicating with my son to get my husbands car wrapped. My son had the vision and Chris was great at recommending tweaks that would make the vision come into fruition. Absolutely impressive all around. My husband was beyond surprised and I think I might have seen a teeny tiny happy tear. I HIGHLY recommend Ratchet Industries!

We used Ratchet Industries on San Pedro for hail damage repairs on our truck through a USAA…read moreinsurance claim. Our communication was with the owner, Rori. The truck was dropped off on August 28 and was not marked "ready" until November 21, nearly 12 weeks later. During the repair process, we were repeatedly told it would be "two more weeks," but the completion date kept moving. Communication with both us and USAA was slow, inconsistent, and often nonexistent. Because of the shop's extreme delays, we incurred additional rental car costs. Ratchet Industries agreed to reimburse us for the rental expense, and USAA has a record of that agreement. The amount still owed to us is $1,604.84. After agreeing to pay, the shop again repeatedly told us payment would be made in "two weeks," but no payment was made. At the shop's request, we even tried working with them on a payment plan, but those payment dates have long passed and they are no longer communicating with us. As a final attempt to resolve this, we offered to accept half of the amount owed if paid by the deadline we gave them, which is now about six months after we incurred the rental cost. We still received no payment and no communication. When the truck was finally marked "ready" on November 21, it was not actually complete or properly put back together. The new drip moldings had not been installed, the interior paneling had been put back loosely and needed repair, the middle light housing was broken, and screws were missing from the tailgate molding. We have been very patient and gave Ratchet Industries many opportunities to resolve this. We are requesting payment of the $1,604.84 rental reimbursement they agreed to pay, or at minimum a written response and immediate plan for repayment.
