Adam and crew are the best. I've done small tiling with tile cutter etc (bathroom floor/shower), but they are seriously legit next-level. I thought about doing the kitchen floor myself (you know... gluing rectangles, no problem), but I am so happy I did not. Our house is a wonky franken-house and the original part built in 1934. He takes extra care in prepping / levelling the floor for the tile and takes no shortcuts. I know this is a literal foundation to a successful deployment. They started and finished the job within the time frame specified and stayed within cost. Adam laid out tiles on the floor to confirm I liked the spacing. He helped with advice on grout aesthetics and tile selection. Porcelain vs ceramic, where to look at and buy tile, etc. They finished in weeks what would have taken me months of night/weekends, not including the blood, tears, and (I assume) divorce. :) I am most impressed with the tile transitions and cuts around walls. Very precise. I told them I was OCD about the bathroom penny tile spacing, but they deployed it perfect. They take the doors off and will cut them shorter if necessary after the tile is in place. They do not typically remove or re-hookup appliances, vanities, toilets, etc. They are several months out, so don't expect to be scheduled in a couple weeks, but you might get lucky if someone cancels. He made sure I procured the tile before he scheduled the date, because shipping these days can be an issue for tile companies (supply-chain). He has tiled everything I need at this house. I can now advertise his services without impacting my own scheduling needs, so enjoy. :) read more

I can't say enough about Tile Unlimited. Adam is a true professional. I interviewed four local tile companies and Adam and Tile Unlimited were the most professional, helpful and solid contractor. From the first conversation through material ordering, scheduling and install, Adam and his team kept me informed about the process and the next steps. Tile is not something that you want to DIY, even if you have other building trade skills. It takes a professional to do it right. Adam is careful and will not schedule the tile install until the site is 100% ready. I appreciate that. Adam will also take the time to stop by prior to install and check on the site and discuss details with you. From the first day of install, I could tell that Adam had worked out the math and had a plan for the layout. Our tile was relatively simple, subway tile, but Adam had worked out the layout both horizontal and vertical, taking into account the corners, plumbing and how the tile ends at the reveals. We found Adam on yelp for a commercial work ( IL David restaurant). Adam was very responsive and came for a quote very quickly. The job was to remove and put some new tiles in the 2 bathrooms. Small job but the bathrooms looks so much nicer. Adam and his team were very conscientious and they finished the work very quickly. We searched and got bids from about 15 high rated yelp reviews, I've learned the review only means so much, you've got to listen to person that comes out, ask lots of questions and definitely do not choose the ones that try to convince you to differ to their voice, listen to your own and ask questions. Adam came out, masked and reviewed our needs and asked us if we had questions, talked about the tiles and where to buy, and how the process works. He saved us money- made me aware of how important it is to get lots of estimates. In this case he was the last one out of 15 and we are grateful. Save yourself grief talk to him- compare invoices low does not mean quality affected it means there are a few honest people left. Tile unlimited is one of the good guys. read more

I found Adam on Yelp and am so glad I did! We used him last year for our bathroom floor and just used him again for our kitchen backsplash. Both experiences were excellent. Adam is extremely reliable, trustworthy, and performs quality work at a reasonable price. Our bathroom project ended up taking longer than expected due to difficulties with our original sub-floor (not anything he could have anticipated) and I was a bit nervous that we were going to be hit with an unexpected price increase due to the extra work (which probably would have been warranted!) but he stuck to his original quote. He is one of those rare professionals who actually cares about the final product and isn't just there to do his job and leave. When he was not satisfied with some cracking in the grout in our bathroom floor, he redid it to make sure it was perfect. He also had a carpenter friend cut the original floorboard in our doorway to ensure the best transition between the tile bathroom floor and the wood hall floor. With our kitchen, he came several times prior to beginning the job to ensure that everything was in order and that we selected appropriate tile (he gently steered us away from our original choice of mosaic tile toward 4x16 subway tile, which turned out fantastic!). I've used Adam for several projects inside my home (see review from 2011), and recently had him do an outdoor project for me. From the side of the house, where the trash bins are, it was always hard to get the bins out to the curb because the ground was uneven, the stepping-stones made it difficult, etc. Adam tiled the bin area behind the gate with slate pavers, leaving an inch between each (no grout) so light ground cover can grow between the pavers. He continued the slate paving outside the gate in about a 4-ft. wide path, bordered with railroad ties, to the driveway. Not only is it easy to get the bins out now, but it looks GREAT!! It was a big visual improvement, Sunset-magazine worthy. read more

Adam did an excellent job with our kitchen tile work. He is very reasonable and an expert when it comes to knowing how to install tile. He can be trusted in your home if you have to leave. I was very impressed with his ability to make precision cuts which you can see after the grouting is done. He used a laser tool to make sure all the lines were straight. He does excellent work and we did not have to ask him redo any of his tile work. He cleaned up before he left each day. We highly recommend Adam and I guarantee you will have a beautiful tile job after he is done. My wife actually found Adam of Tile Unlimited on Yelp. After meeting him, we immediately had a good feeling about him and hired him to install our new (supplied by us) glass and stone specialty kitchen backsplash. His price was very fair, his estimated work time was completely accurate and reasonable, and he was conscientious of keeping our curious cats inside.His lead time was approximately 2 weeks which worked perfectly for our kitchen remodel. I contacted him several times leading up to the install trying to narrow down a day - he was very good about answering his phone and our install dates were easily coordinated. Adam was meticulous, was very careful with the installation, and even used a laser level to insure proper installation around our entire kitchen. He was very careful to keep the work area clean and even cleaned up outside where he was cutting the tile - very professional. We ended up making a installation design change after he had already laid some of the tile - he was very fair with us on the re-do of work and all along made good installation suggestions which turned out great. It took several days to install the backsplash (these were small little rectangular tiles that were clearly labor intensive and we have a lot of wall area) - but, we really appreciated his attention to detail and work ethic. We were certainly NOT disappointed in the end product and appreciated the time he spent putting it in. At one point I couldn't get the day off to stay with him - we didn't have a problem with him in the house without us and he locked up, as requested, after finishing up. Trustworthy. Adam was easy to communicate with, was prompt, and was NOTHING like the last tile guy we had. (like Chiropractors, I guess you have to have had a bad one to know what a good one is like!) My wife and I would wholeheartedly recommend Adam to our friends and fellow Yelpers. I've got his number in my phone for recommendations and wouldn't hesitate to hire him for our next tile job!
