Bought a house in Guerneville that was completely carpeted, and we wanted to change that. We met with 6 different vendors in the area all of which had good reviews on yelp. Joel was by far the best! He was the easiest to communicate with. He was transparent about the timing of the project both when it would start and when it would finish. He works with high quality products, which is what was important to us, and the colors and finishes are very contemporary. Exactly what we wanted. His pricing wasn't the cheepest, because nobody can beat the lumber liquidators and Empire Floors of the world. But he definitely wasn't the most expensive either. And when it comes to floors, you get what you pay for! He ended up finishing the project early, worked around our schedules and the schedules of other contractors we were working with simultaneously. I was very happy when Joel responded within hours to my request for an estimate to do my strand bamboo hardwood floors. He indicated that he was working on a job but could definitely come out the next week to give me an estimate. I didn't hear from him for a few weeks and reached out to remind him. He made an appointment and showed up on time to give me an estimate. He was very professional and very pleasant and I was confident that he really knew what he was talking about. He even took an extra piece of flooring that I had so that he could provide me with stain samples and options in advance. He told me to expect an estimate in 3-5 days. Nearly a month later, having not received his estimate, I checked in again with him and asked him to let me know if he was still planning to give me an estimate. Never heard back from him. So, he might deserve all of the positive reviews for him work, but his complete lack of response suggests that he is either too busy or doesn't care about business. So disappointing. read more

I have been meaning to write this review for Joel awhile. If there is anyone who deserves high yelp reviews it is Joel and G. I had a job to remove carpet and install oak hardwood in three of our bedrooms with onsite sand and finish. I got a few bids for the job. While Joel was not the cheapest bid I got, he was also not the highest. One of the other bids I got for the job was from another highly rated flooring contractor on yelp. (very high bid) So glad I did not choose them because there was no way they could have done a better job than Joel and his crew. Excellent communication and quality of work. While the fantastic work they did would be enough for the five stars, they really went far beyond that for us. Joel started the project right before the fires here in Santa Rosa. We of course had to delay the project a little as my house was in a mandatory evacuation zone and we were not even sure our house was going to make it through the fires. Joel was in contact with us the whole time, reassuring us that he had not forgotten about us. During that stressful time I got to know Joel on a bit more of a personal level. Will not go into detail on that, but suffice it to say, one of the better people I have met in my life.
