I was on a seemingly neverending quest for a unique, statement-making tile for my bathroom renovation until I found Tile Showcase. The selection is unique and diverse, and the showroom is gorgeous and inviting. I worked with Jessica and can't say enough wonderful things about her. She was never pushy, gave educated and passionate information and advice, and was so warm and personable. She was extremely patient when we realized our budget needed to be smaller than initially expected, and I never felt judged for going in with expensive taste that didn't align with our budget. More salespeople should be like Jessica! She worked tirelessly to give us as many options within our price range and intended design as she could, and the only reason we didn't end up buying with her is because we couldn't find something within our budget that we loved. The only reason I didn't give this review 5 stars is because the selection is priced on the higher side and is less accessible to a more moderate budget. That being said, most of the tiles are very special and created like works of art, so it makes sense that they cost what they do. read more

Beautiful tile and a lot of selection but wildly overpriced. I would recommend shopping around to at least 2 other places before making a decision. All tile orders are non refundable which is very sad given home renovation almost always comes with surprises. They are also not a one stop shop- they do not sell Schluter which our contractor was shocked by, and this had us looking elsewhere for these types of products which was quite inconvenient. Be aware that the onus is on the homeowner to measure, layout, design, measure again prior to ordering. No responsibility will be taken by the Tile Showcase if any of these are inaccurate or not to your liking once you get the tile. Overall, I wish we had shopped around and decided to go elsewhere. read more

Sales people are always in a hurry and their main focus is to make a sale. . Delivery dates of items are confirmed only after purchase. Their instock items still take 2-3 weeks to arrive. Anything "special ordered" took over 2 months. . Any items not delivered has to be picked up at their warehouse in Southborough. They wouldn't ship it to the showroom. ADVICE: a) Bring a calculator and double check their math! b) Purchase non-tile items such as grout and sealer from any other vendor, such as Floor & Decor instead. WOW! I can not say enough wonderful things about Tile Showcase's new gorgeous showroom!! The sales staff went above and beyond in helping me make my selections and were helpful right up until the end when it was installed. They had a lot of creative ideas that I wouldn't have thought of and the end result is like a magazine. Can't believe it's in my home!! There is plenty of off street free parking which you might not see at first but if you miss it there is also street parking. RUN AWAY FROM THIS STORE AS FAST AS POSSIBLE. They are Liars and Thieves. Read on. Liars: The first thing we said when started looking....we need the tile by this date. We were assured it would be delivered on time. We mentioned their reputation for long lead times and delays. The response: "We know this...we worked on to make people happy. You will have your tile on time." So what happened? You know the punch line: THE TILE IS DELAYED. Were we called? No. Did they ask us if we can wait a month for the tile? Of course. That's normal. Living without a kitchen for a month. Were we promised a call back when we inquired? Yes. Did that call come? No. Did they promise to have a designer call to find a solution? Yes. Were we called? No. Did they apologize when I showed up to get my money back? Nope. Seriously. Not even a cursory "Sorry about this." Just a check - following annoyance I did not have my wife's credit card - and a sheepish walk away. Thieves: They have stolen days of my life. Time is our most precious commodity and I want it back. I'm now running around town, visiting tile stores and restarting the process. I'm mid-project, living without a kitchen and have appliances and cabinets waiting to be installed. This is costing me money - I have to pay my contractor, right? - so essentially they've stolen money from me as well. SERIOUSLY....RUN AWAY. I read the reviews here. The team at Tile Showcase is amazing. They recently helped my wife and I with tile for our kitchen and bathroom renovations. We worked with Rene for design. The feedback she provided was invaluable. This was a first renovation and we really didn't think of a lot of things that she brought up throughout the process. So we really appreciated her guidance. She gave us a lot of samples to bring home to try out in the light in our home. When we were ready we were able to call her and place our order over the phone. It arrived when our contractor was ready for it with out any issues. We thought the pricing was on par or slightly less than other suppliers in the area but were blown away with the amazing customer service. If ever we need tile again, we will certainly be back to Tile showcase. read more

We bought our tile here for our bathroom. They had beautiful tile and the woman who works downstairs in the warehouse was lovely to deal with. The sales people upstairs were helpful with ideas, but seemed to be a little less than patient with us while choosing tile. We ended up ordering some tile that was supposed to come in within 3-4 weeks. It ended up taking 8 weeks to arrive. No one contacted us to let us know what was going on. My husband emailed them without a response. He had to write a nasty email to get a response. We weren't crazy about our accent tile once it arrived (our fault) so we ordered something else, which also took at least twice as long as promised to arrive. Again, we had to contact them and light a fire under them to get an answer about where our order was. Would probably choose another tile store next time. read more

I thought this place was Big Bucks but I've actually found the slate backsplash and kitchen flooring there for a lot less than anywhere I'd looked (for the sort of tile I needed). I was on a tight budget and found backsplash for about $3/sq ft there. But yes, like all other stores, they carry the higher ends items,too. They are REALLY busy on Saturdays, when people who work can go and shop so don't expect relaxed face time unless you have an appt....they can move pretty briskly on Sats. Go during the day, if you need more time with a sales person. I have a relationship now with Stephanie, and she knows me (she's really helpful and remembers what I've been looking at/looking for) but she can't always stand and chat if I just show up. You need to give your name at the desk and then hang out to wait your turn...and that can be a drag. so, just be advised. Make sure to visit other stores too, before going here. (I've been to about 15 in the Boston area!) The atmosphere is just different. I found I was totally ignored at most of the other tile places, cuz I guess I don't look like I'm rich! But in other places, you can flip thru zillions of tile cards - here, the tile cards are the actual tiles on a wall. You can take them down, move them around, room to room, and when you bring home a sample to hold up against something, it's the real tile that abuts the walls/cabinets, not the cardboard. So you really see what the tile will look like near paint/wood, etc. Oh, loads of free parking in the back. U don't have to park on-street and during the week (not sat...boo) they have a clearance room downstairs. Also, they are within blocks of two or three other tile places, and down the street from Home Depot. The tile I found, btw, was much nicer and cheaper than what I found at Home Depot...or online. **one other thing, their warehouse is in Natick and is NOT open on Saturday. That sucks. We placed an order with the Watertown store and later found the same tile at 30% less cost in stock from the Tile Shop in Avon. Tile Showcase, took 2-3 weeks to have items ready and wouldn't accept returns or refunds even for unopened boxes. Luckily we only ordered one set of tiles from them and saved thousands ordering from the Tile Shop. read more

Horrible service. We bought boxes of a tile. One sheet in a box was the incorrect size. We needed one more sheet to finish the job. When asked to locate and sell us the one sheet it was SUCH A MESS. It was like I asked them to split the atom! The woman was rude and patronizing to me. When they found and mailed us the sheet, it was also the wrong size again. When I called they never returned my call. Never again will I purchase a thing from them. I found that one sheet at Tile International in Waltham. While everyone was very nice, it was Joe at Tile Showcase who really listened to my problem, helped me trouble shoot, and figured out a way to solve it! I can't be happier. We wanted to update and brighten our small condo kitchen, and after shopping around other tile establishments, we discovered Tile Showcase and its designer-consultant Rene Yang. Rene LISTENED to our ideas, suggested choices that we hadn't previously thought about, and then helped us formulate a design direction that we love. We never felt rushed to make a decision. Rene provided us with clear, concise product descriptions, ordering timelines and costs. She was quick to return our e-mails, and was helpful in providing a list of reputable tilers. From the list, we interviewed and chose Onofrio M. who did a great job replacing and sealing our kitchen backsplash. He was meticulous, neat, collaborative and on time! While the selection of materials is great! That is where the charm ends! First time I went in and selected many pieces, they said they were too busy too help me (on a Monday),make an appointment and they would contact me never did. Well I shuddered as I approached them again--this time a lady "helped" me. We purchased countertops and the installer came out to make templates. He was early, and I asked him to wait until the contractor was there to do the templates. He didn't. So when we were all there and reviewed the templates, they weren't right. We asked for changes to them, but he wouldn't make them. Then he told us if the countertop was the wrong size, he could just push it into the wall and it would be fine. Then he refused to make a template for a smaller area in the dining room. THEN he slammed the door on the way out. When we called the company to discuss the issues and ask for someone else to come re-do the templates, they said... come pick up your check. I don't normally post reviews like this but then again, I don't normally see service that is this consistently awful. read more

I went to this place at the suggestion of the person helping me to renovate my bathroom. The front desk person was nice, and so was the warehouse salesman. However, the snotty woman upstairs was unhelpful, impatient, seemed angry that I did not know exactly what I wanted and kept getting irritated that I kept asking some repetitive questions since she explained very little to me and acted like I was an idiot for not grasping her every word. She does not know how close I came to cursing her out and storming out of the store. They look to have a decent selection of tile and I really need to learn about tile and get design ideas. Terrible customer service. For them to answer a PHONE is a miracle, the phone rings and rings..Sometimes the receiptionist will answer...Sending them an email, you get poor response. When you visit the sales room it is either closed(Design Centre) and no way of contacting them. Going to the Watertown location, hardly any customers in the showroom. If you ask for help you are just rudely serviced. After demanding better service Christina tells me if i dont like the service i should go other places. i understand why they have no customers with that type of attitude. i finally was transfered to the owner 'Joe' who seemed too busy doing everyone job that it was difficult for him to answer my questions. He refered me to the sales force of course queen Christina refused to assist me. and again i was sent back to Joe. The order did come in as promised in a weeks time. however for them to answer the phone it is a miralce. So if you plan on getting stuff there call make sure you get response before ordering, as they would never call you or help you. When i went there i met Joe the 'owner' his attitude was same as Christina. i would just go to another shop. i have purchased before from this shop but never again. Joe claims they have been in business 20 years, but with the type of service you get there, i wouldnt expect they will be in business many more years... read more

We have the most beautiful basement/bedroom courtesy of the Tile Showcase. Stephanie DeSantis helped us find the tiles in just 15 minutes. Claire helped us when we needed to add more tiles, change the date of delivery, and add the grout. Frank Kelly laid the tiles, and he is a master craftsman. When the folks at Tile Showcase saw this Yelp Review they contacted me immediately to resolve the issue. I was pleased with their response --- they (the CFO and owner) listened, acknowledged that our order was mis-handled (and that the sales person had misrepresented what had happened), they apologized, and they very quickly refunded our money including an accrued service charge. I would consider using them again in the future --- and, my advice is to be VERY explicit about orders and delivery dates, and confirm that materials have actually been ordered. read more

Among our many purchases was one item we were unsure if we would ultimately use in our project - so we established beforehand that it was returnable. Somehow the workers threw out the original box and Tile Showcase wouldn't accept it back. It was small monetary setback - given the size of the total bill. But petty not to accept the return. Great experience in the warehouse. Agree that getting the attention from the upstairs showroom may be challenging but with an appt it makes a difference. They warn you that Saturday's are busy...make a weekday appt or plan to walk through for ideas on a Saturday. There is a reason they are busy, they have terrific stuff. Shopping the warehouse after walking through the showroom was perfect. I already knew what I wanted and Claire who works in the warehouse on Saturday's is about the best person out there. Rene Yang is absolutely fantastic for all your tile needs. She is an amazing designer- she will take your ideas and then come up with a whole bunch of other ideas, some of which push you out of your comfort zone, which is good. But she is always respectful of your wishes and budget as well. She doesn't just try to sell you the most expensive tile. She is responsive, honest, fun and a joy to work with. We went to this place based on the recommendation by our contractor, whom we trust and has worked for us on various projects over the years. Rene is very knowledgable and has a good eye for what combination works. She listens and then shows you things that are inline with your idea. We ordered tiles, backsplashes, accents, etc for a kitchen and two bathrooms. You pay all upfront including the delivery charge, unless if you want to pick up yourself. So far so good. We are promised 2-3 weeks for most of the items and Rene said she will stay on top of this. read more

We were redoing our 3 original 1962 bathrooms and needed help with tile. Tile Showcase (and Rene') were recommended to us by our Plumbing store, and with good reason. She listened and looked at the pictures of what we like, and worked with our budget. We wanted transitional, we got transitional. It totally updates the bathrooms in a cool, spa-like way. They have a great showroom, it can be overwhelming even, it is so diverse, so she pointed out things and helped us focus. She is a designer, and we really benefitted from her knowledge. She also was not pushy, and worked through all our questions. Making an appointment is essential at Tile Showcase. Weekdays are better. Our only surprise came when 3 boxes of tiles could not be returned to the store, they were special order (as everything we had ordered). We learned that even though their staff makes the calculations of how much we will need, if there is a surplus of tiles, we have to keep them, no reimbursement, partial credit only I believe. read more

I found the staff at Tile Showcase to be very helpful. As with most businesses Saturdays can be hectic- so if you are unsure what you want- go during the week when you can take your time. The outlet downstairs isn't large but there are great bargains to be found. And don't overlook upstairs. There are great prices there as well. My consultant Stephanie was a dream to work with- and found a great tile in my budget that made my vanity top pop while making sure it was kid friendly for slippery feet. Plus she had excellent advice on grout, tile design, and just a calmness about her that put me at ease during this crazy bathroom renovation. Great prices! You are rushed in and out because there is another warm body waiting for her to manipulate into thinking they love what she picked chose for you. Will never return. Warn your friends. RUN, RUN,,RUN. I went into Tile Showcase to order tile for 2 bathrooms in a new home that I was building. When I went in the second time, almost ready to place the order I was told after about 45 minutes that the salesperson was no longer able to continue helping me as she had a walk in customer that she needed to get to. I was astounded that she would cut me off when I had only one last decision to make before placing the order. I complained at the front desk and was told that another salesperson would be able to help me and AGAIN, when I said I needed another 1/2 hour or so, I was told that they did not have that amount of time to give. In this economy I was floored to find a business that would let someone walk out the door on an almost $3000 sale because they could not spare me 1/2 hour. I had been fairly quick and decisive up to that point. I left and ordered my tile at a much less fancy showroom, but where I was treated with a courteous, knowledgeable sales person. I would never go into the TIle Showcase again even though they sent me a $200 gift certificate. I believe that customer service is still very important. Shame on them!! read more

Redoing a bathroom we went to Tile Showcase based on Chronicle's recommendation, bad idea. They have a nice showroom, however we waited forever for our name to be 'called'. The person who was assigned to us was barely helpful and not at all useful. She literally stared at us after I introduced myself. I gave my basic account of what we were looking for, and asked about a particular tile, and lead time. Of course I happened to point out one of the most expensive tiles, but even so we needed something sooner than 3 months. So I asked her to at least orient us to the showroom...where were porcelain, glass, etc. She barely responded, and then pointed out the cheapest thing she could. This is not what we asked and just what she assumed. Then it was so awkward because she just stood there and stared at us. I finally said well ok thank you, we'll look around. It was very disappointing. We had money to spend and I am happy to say they did not receive a dime of it. So disappointing. As a professional adult I am rarely made to feel like I don't deserve to be somewhere, but the high school attitude from this woman was shockingly snide and exclusionary. United Tile was very accommodating and helpful. We found beautiful tile and will not be going back to Tile Showcase. read more

Weird. My first visit I was greeted warmly by a salesperson who said she would help me. I showed her my plans and we discussed possibilities. We spent about 15 minutes looking at what they had in their beautiful showroom when another customer greeted my saleswoman. They hugged each other and the saleswoman walked off. I thought she would return after greeting her friend, but a few minutes later I went to look for her and saw she was helping the other women. Never a word to me. When I went to the reception desk to ask what happened I got no explanation, but another salesperson took over. So we had to start from scratch. I selected a beautiful tile and asked for a sample. I explained I would be leaving the next day for a couple of weeks and was told the sample would be there when I returned. I never received an email or message that the sample had arrived. I called and was told it would be there next week. I said I was concerned because if it took a month to get the sample I didn't know how long it would take to get the shipment. She explained the order had just gone in when I called because she had been away and the order was never processed. I came in to place the order and gave her the architect's drawing, which included the tiles. She would not use the drawing, saying that since it was a special order, which couldn't be returned, she did not want to be responsible for the estimate. I would have to tell her how much tile I wanted. These issues might have meant three stars, but the whopper was when I placed the order. The cost of the tiles, with tax, was $264, a reasonable price. But the cost of the shipping was $272, for a total of $$536. I know tiles are heavy, but these were only the mosaic trim, not the whole room. So I called four other tile stores. The tiles cost roughly the same but the shipping ranged from $26 to $48. Thinking there must have been a mistake I emailed the salesperson, who replied that the order would weigh 30 pounds and was being shipped by UPS from California. She said if that was too much perhaps I could find another tile that comes from the east coast. Of course, all of the stores priced a shipment from California. The package was only 30 pounds, so $272 was way out of line for UPS. I had selected the exact tile I wanted, and went to one of the other stores I had called. The salesperson made the estimate based on the drawings. Now that I've seen the experience of others in delayed orders I'm glad I didn't order them from Tile Showcase. read more
