I am a local general contractor and I deal with local business on a daily basis. It is quite rare to do business with a company that goes far beyond the norm. Douglas was my rep and I am very thankful for that! He truly went out of his way to assist me with my large tile order. He is dedicated to his work and it shows. I would highly recommend for any GC or homeowners that is in need of tiles or additional tiling materials (i.e. shower pans, mastic, tile cutters etc) to shop at Best tile. Their dedication to a solid transaction and client relationship is far superior to the rest..... read more

i just left about 10 mins ago and I will not be back. I came in with my kids and mom looking for tile for a basement floor. None of the associates asked if we needed help. I looked around for a bit and then went up to a lady to show her what I was looking for and to ask for help. She proceeded to show me around but kept reminding me everything was out of my price range. Mind you, I never mentioned price range. She also kept mentioning shipping costs and how that was also too high and essentially letting me know that is also out of my price range. I'm uncertain of how she looked at me and was able to guess my price range but ... the interaction was weird, uncomfortable and not a place I would feel comfortable dropping $4k on tile read more

I have shopped at Best Tile both for a kitchen and bathroom reno. I worked with Jennifer Hartwell, and she was excellent. Jennifer offered excellent service and was very responsive to all my needs. Her support around the design and amount needed to order were outstanding. She was a great asset to my project. read more

They have beautiful tile. And a year ago I met a wonderful employee who pulled my kitchen together. I was lucky. The general attitude there is 'don't bother me'. They have implemented a front line desk with new employees that they don't support (who nicely support each other). Not sure what is wrong with 'upper staff'. If they gave the effort of the first man I met there a year ago this place would be so busy! Which is why I think they are rude and unhelpful Owner should reassess the commission structure. They are dragging you down read more

Max could not have been more helpful. We found beautiful options for our restoration/renovation project.

The section is fabulous... the service is limited, staffing seems to be a problem. A really nice place to shop. I recommend making an appointment and to be patient. The follow up was wonderful. read more

We worked with Best Tile a little bit ago before all the sheltering in place, and we had an amazing experience! We worked with Doug Woodhouse, he was super helpful! He picked up on our design aesthetic quickly and suggested some really beautiful options that were perfect for our taste. And we ended up doing an entire wall in our kitchen as an accent in tile that we hadn't necessarily planned on doing because we loved the tile so much. And Best Tile has been very flexible and easy to work with throughout the current situation with COVID19. Thanks for all your help Doug! read more

Good products but their customer service could use some improvements! I know they are busy but when a customer comes in and spends over $1000 they can be a little friendlier and not make a customer feel rushed! I found myself apologizing throughout the visit because the vibe I was getting from the sales associate was making me uncomfortable... read more

Went to "Best" Tile in Dedham and after a good amount of deliberation decided on tile for my master bathroom. The salesperson was patient with me as I am somewhat indecisive when faced with too many choices. When getting the order ready the salesperson took the measurements, giving to us by our GC, and stated, "I am ordering you 10% on top of these measurements to make sure you have enough with cuts and waste." I was truly shocked by the total cost of these tiles and then to be told I was not able to return or or cancel my order once placed was not good service. Long story short master bathroom is still not done because we didn't have enough of 2 different tiles to finish. Now still waiting fmore than 10 days to have them shipped to the store. Not impressed don't waste your money go to Lowe's or HD Contacted manger as requested and never got a call back. read more

I have had and continue to have the most amazing experience with Marie Maloney. Her expertise with the product and willingness to work with my budget all the while providing great customer service is so appreciated! I have been back several times and each time Marie is beyond patient with my questions, changes, and always provides great alternative recommendations. I highly recommend working with Marie and making Best Tile a destination in a tile search! read more

My company has been using best tile for over 6 years. They have an excellent selection and are always bringing in new tile. In addition, their pricing is very competitive. Our tile designer is Jeanne and we love her. She always has great ideas and really cares about her clients. We always make an appointment which I highly recommend. read more

Great tile but service from our sales person was a bit trying. They kept blaming the builder for install errors when it was their responsibility to provide install instructions on the order sheet. In addition, the sales person kept putting off the tile order when this was one of the items holding up finishing the build on our house. read more

Nice tile, good price, weird front desk attitudes and not much customer service.

Stopped in to the showroom at 3:30 on Saturday afternoon. The showroom was extremely busy however I was greeted by a very personable young gentleman, Douglas, who explained that he would be with me as soon as he was finished with the client he was with. In the meanwhile, I looked through the showroom which I found to be well organized and offering a nice selection. Not crowded with product sampling, making it easy to "see" the options. Found what I was looking for very quickly with Doug's assistance. read more

I have had two of the bathrooms in my home renovated and I have used Best Tile for both projects. I find that Best Tile has a good selection of quality tiles. I find the tiles at Best Tile to be moderately priced. -Not as cheap as Home Depot or Lowes but not as expensive as some of the high end tile stores. When you first walk into Best Tile, you can see all of the staff sitting together. At first I thought the staff was pretentious. They do not talk to you or even make eye contact with you and you can spend lots of time in the store without anyone acknowledging your presence or even asking you if you require any assistance. Once you engage them though, they are very helpful and friendly. The first time I did business with Best Tile, one of the male associates (can't remember his name) assisted me and I was happy with his services. The second time I purchased tiles from Best Tile, "Lynne" assisted me. I found her very helpful. I found a tile I liked, and was happy with the different styles of floor tiles and back-splashes she suggested as pairings. Best Tile has good merchandise. As long as they maintain good customer service I will recommend them. read more

I recently (FINALLY) re-did my kitchen - and I had an idea of what I wanted - but DEFINITELY needed guidance. Jeanne at Best Tile did just that. And let me tell you, my kitchen came out GREAT! Jeanne really helped me by giving me artistic suggestions. She made it clear she would only give me recommendations as I had asked - but it would be MY decision as I'm the one that will be living with it. She brought new ideas to mind and I am so thrilled with the outcome. The ordering process was very easy - and scheduling-wise, it was spot on - just as Jeanne had told me. If you need help with your flooring, backsplash, or anything with tile - Best Tile has a TON of options and you'll be in good hands with Jeanne and her colleagues. read more

Excellent selection and installation quality. We were very happy with the service given before, during and after installation of the tile. It was easy to order and the salesman was helpful in assisting us in selecting tile. The tile installation held up over time and looked great. We would have given 5 stars but only gave 4 as the showroom was incredibly busy and it was hard to get someone to initially assist (when we went on a Saturday). read more

I found a lot of nice selections of tile to look at. The customer service on the other hand doesn't even warrant the 1 star rating I am giving. I entered the store with the hopes of purchasing some tile for my entry hall. As I entered the showroom there was a gentleman to the right working with a woman and clearly gave eye contact but ignored me. I continued to look around. This same gentleman still ignored me as the customer he was helping took a phone call. Not one person offered to help me. I refuse to spend a dollar on this establishment. Now another employee enters from outside and I am still ignored. Therefore Best Tile is not the Best in customer service. read more

We recently bought quite a lot of tile from this business and our experience was positive. Our sales person, Lynne, was very professional. She helped us select the tile for the main floor, second floor bathroom and for the walls in the bathtub area. Later we also purchased backsplash for the kitchen. There was no push on her part and she encouraged us to take samples to see if it will work. It so happened that we had a few unopened boxes of tile left and despite the policy that they don't take anything back she was able to work allowing us to return it. I would recommend this place and will use them in the future if we ever need tile. Disclosure: our contractor was registered with Best Tile and we got a good discount on everything we bought there. It would be a good idea to ask your contractor if he is registered with them. read more

Best Tile in Dedham has a great collection of beautiful high-end tiles. For me, though, it was their exceptiocustomer service that set them apart- especially Erin Hayes. Erin has a great style and color sense. She is extremely patient and did not complain about my several changes of mind in making my final decisions. She was very thorough despite continuous multi-tasking and assisting multiple customers simultaneously on busy days. My new master bathroom tiles look gorgeous- kudos to Erin! read more

Thank you to Jeanne, who made my experience so easy and stress-free! I had 2 bathrooms, a mudroom, a fireplace and a kitchen to tile and was under pressure to get everything picked out. Jeanne was so great and so easy to work with, she made decision making easy and took care of every last detail. My rooms look stunning! read more

What a fantastic store. The selection is huge, the people are incredibly helpful (shout out to Anne), the tiles are reasonably priced and if they don't have them in stock they come in quickly when ordered. We have gone to other discount tile stores in the area and although sometimes the tiles might be a few cents cheaper - the people are never as knowledgeable or helpful and the tile takes much longer to come in. I can't recommend Best Tile in Dedham enough. read more

As mentioned by a previous reviewer, they pretty much ignore you when you go in. We looked around for quite a while and no one ever approached us. Finally, we asked for help (because we really needed it) and after a while, someone spared us a few minutes. Then she paid minimal attention to our tastes and preferences and just told us what she liked. Then she was done with us and went away. I didn't feel like a valued customer, that's for sure. The selection was pretty extensive. The location is pretty convenient (right by Legacy Place). But overall, if I'm going to choose something that will be a significant feature of my kitchen for many years, and costs a certain amount, I really want someone who isn't indifferent (at best) or giving me the brush-off (which is just about how it felt) to help. So I won't be buying my flooring and backsplash tiles at Best Tile. read more

Difficult to return unused tiles. Contractors picked up tiles, I gave my credit card over the phone, took my email to send receipt, never did. Contractor took a picture of the receipt and texted. Even with the receipt, they did not take the unusual tiles back, because the manager was not there!! read more

We've now used Best Tile for two home renovations. They have a great selection and the prices are very reasonable. We worked with Doug Woodhouse, who was great. He helped us choose our tiles, was very helpful and knowledgable, and extremely patient. Overall, a really positive experience. read more

Having called a few tiles shops, I had the best experience w/ Best Tile in Dedham, and specifically Ann, who spent time w/ me on the phone to figure out my project and the ins-and-outs of what I needed to think about. Thank you Ann! read more

I went to Best Tile initially because the contractor I chose for my bathroom renovation recommended them, and I had never been there before. I want to compliment in particular Doug Woodhouse, one of their design consultants, for his knowledge, extreme patience, and guidance in helping me choose tiling for my master bath, a daunting experience for any homeowner. I feel very lucky to be working with Doug. Not only is he congenial and someone who listens carefully but he was also willing to help with my choice of another company's tile I was considering to see what coordinating tiles he could offer and designs I might use. That kind of understanding and professionalism is very smart, and makes it easy for me to highly recommend this store. read more

Worked with Jeanne on both my bathroom and my kitchen renovations. She is terrific and the tiles came out beautifully - very happy! Would highly recommend her and the store. read more

We ordered kitchen tiles from here. First they arrived later than expected. Changed delivery date three times. Then when we wanted to return unused tiles, we were told that they cannot be returned even with receipt. There was no mention on invoice not being returnable. read more

Super helpful staff! Took the time to walk through options with us and help us make the right selections for our bathroom renovation.

I would highly recommend this store and Ali. She was knowledgeable and answered all of my questions. We picked out tile for the kitchen and a backsplash with a mosaic. I couldn't have done it without Ali's expertise! Thank you!!! read more

This is such a great showroom with amazing product and superb customer service! I needed tile selected for a client ahead of time so I called Doug woodhouse and had him do some research for me before I came in. He was so professional and was extremely efficient and may I add had impeccable taste! My client loved everything we selected, I will definitely be back to best tile! read more

Nice tile selection but the customer service could use some work. I had some questions about a particular tile, and it was like pulling teeth to get clear answers from the older saleswoman who helped me. She was more intent on informing me on why I wouldn't like the tile I had questions about rather than helping me find something that I might like better. She seemed to know what she was talking about, but I really had to ask the right questions in order to get the answers. I still don't have the answers I want, but it doesn't matter because I wouldn't go back to this store to get them. I'd rather do business with people who are friendly and interested in helping me instead of with people who make me feel like I'm an idiot for not knowing everything about tile. read more

I had a fabulous experience here. We worked with Marie and she was patient and so helpful. This place knows exactly what they are doing and I highly recommend it. read more

My general contractor recommended Best Tiles for me because I am looking for quality tiles and professional services. Jeanne Eckel helped me to choose tiles for the two bathrooms of my daughters. It was very easy to communicate with her. And Jeanne was able to pick the most appropriate tile design and tiles based on my requirements. She was very knowledgeable, stylish, and professional. After we picked our tiles, Jeanne quickly complied a whole list of matching accessories. We received tiles on time and everything was smoothly done. read more

Update: Yesterday, Wednesday, my wife received a call from the manager of Best Tile. He was returning my call from last Monday. He realized during their conversation that I had posted a fairly negative review of my experience at the store on Yelp. He reached out in a very positive way, was very understanding and said he regretted our experience. He invited us to return unused, unopened materials. Best Tile's position on no returns, he explained, is set because the store does not want to resell those items to new customers--not knowing if they may have been altered because of faulty storage or damaging temperature exposures. This was not an issue with the items we wanted to return and he agreed to accept them for a small restocking fee. This manager, Bill, seems intent on making Best Tile the kind of store that will be responsive to customer needs. He listens. He has a knowledgeable staff in the showroom and their recommendations to us worked into a beautiful bathroom. So, on balance, If I simply put my one negative experience aside and consider the good experiences with the sales staff and manager, I would rate this a very good company that is working hard to make itself a better company. The selection of tiles is very good. Ron Paulus read more

I walked into this store and began to peruse. There was only one other couple in the store who was already being helped. Not only did no one greet me (whatever--that can be overlooked) but no one offered to help me AT ALL. I actually found some good options right to next to the couple and the employee helping them so I know the employee saw me--as I was in their vicinity for at least 15 minutes. When they left the store, that employee walked away--but came back to the area at least 3 times to move/collect items, once within arms-length distance and didn't acknowledge me. Clearly they don't need my money. Working on one new construction kitchen and two renovations and could have been a significant sale for them. I couldn't tell if I wasn't helped because I was black (once the other couple left -who were white- there was no one else in the store) but I can't imagine what their issue was. I'll take my business elsewhere. read more

Similar to a few other posts, I too was ignored by salespeople for 45 minutes. My guess is if you appear to be an ordinary homeowner, they won't bother with you. I actually have a contracting company, and also assist in choosing materials for other builders' in the area. It was obvious the salesperson wasn't out to impress me- she was discussing loudly how she was pulled over by the cops after having a few beers and she was embarrassed because her car was a mess and on and on. VERY unprofessional, and definitely not funny. I will not be recommending this store to my coworkers - there are plenty of other places with the same materials. read more

Might be the Best Tile but certainly not the "Best" Customer Service. From the minute you walk into the store the sales staff goes out of their way to ignore you. Forget it if you try to ask them a question, they act like you are huge inconvenience to them. Unfortunately, I did order my tile through them and when we fell short and I had to go back and order more the sales person, who put the order in from the dimensions I gave her, looked at me laughed and said "well that's what you get for not ordering enough tile." I will say the gentleman working in the warehouse was the only helpful and pleasant person I encountered at the store. read more

The idea of any home improvement project sends chills up my spine. I am not good at picking out anything but I was committed to expanding my house and redoing the 1970s bathrooms and kitchen so I had no choice but to forge ahead. On a recommendation from a friend, I contacted Jeanne Eckel of Best Tile in Dedham. If anyone has ever been in a tile place, they know how daunting it can be to stare a million different types of tile in the face. I met with Jeanne and within an hour, she helped me tile and grout two bathrooms from floor to ceiling and pick out two backsplashes and a mudroom. She was so incredibly knowledgable about the product that we wasted no time in second guessing what would work and what wouldn't, She basically broke it all down for me, showed me what things would work with my plan and what would look best in my type of house. My tile was ordered and delivered in a Best Tile truck and there wasn't one broken one or one issue with missing tiles. Quantities were on point. I feel like I want to do another home project just so I can work with Jeanne again. Thank you Best Tile for an incredible and smooth experience (I wish I could say that about all my contractors!) read more
